Wow the hype is real... Van is incredible! I did the nano strokes technique. She's not only extremely technically talented, but also soooo meticulous. Just wanted to update my review. I had my microblading and touch-up completed and I could not be happier with my brows! Van took the time to measure my face and to draw the proportions perfectly, and I was able to approve everything prior to the tattooing process. At first I went with simple brushstrokes, but for my touch-up I opted for some additional shading and I'm very glad that I did. My brows are fantastic now and extremely low maintenance. It is such a relief not to have to basically draw them on from scratch every single day. I also started getting eyelash extensions from Elsa, and what a difference they make in my overall appearance. So now I have everything - the lip shading, the eyeliner tattoo, the microblading, the lashes - all I have to do is throw on some concealer and tinted moisturizer with SPF and I look like I'm walking out the door with a full face of makeup. After a long and exhausting search for a phenomenal semi-permanent microblade artist, I stumbled upon Van. Her attention to detail is spot on and meticulous. I've gone to her about 5x now (initial session, 6 week touch up, 6 month touch up,1 yr touch up, and 1.5yr touch up). Van takes her time to ensure the shape, color, and fullness is to your liking. Her work is truly a form of art. I had a big scar from childhood that she was able to fill in, and it's practically unnoticeable now. Due to my oily skin, I do need to get touch ups often, which is why I see her every 6 months (I like em defined and darker). But if you have normal or dry skin you won't have to go as often. She will answer all your questions, and provides thorough after care instructions. I have recommended about 6 of my g/fs to her, and they are all very happy with the results. I found Van on IG around 2017 when I was browsing for an eyebrow tattoo artist. When someone is going to do semi permanent tattoo on your face, naturally you want someone who would do a great job. I trusted Van to do my brows and it turned out beautifully! I also recommended her to my best friend (who is a now a client with Van) and any friends who inquire about eyebrow tattooing. Van makes your brows fuller with a natural and clean look and enhances the shape of your original brows. Since then I continued to follow Van on IG and I am so happy to see that she opened up a studio! I've been returning for facials now and am so pleased with the results. I have oily to combination skin type and wanted the facial to hydrate my skin, minimize my pores, reduce blemishes / acne scars, and even out my skin tone / texture. My facials are done by Ivy V. and she has been amazing. I get the hydrafacials, along with blue and red LED therapy. No matter how nice my skincare products can be, I have not seen results like this until I did these facials. I've had noticeable improvements after one session. The studio is clean, bright, and beautiful. The area is spaced out intimately with separated dividers and screens. Van and her staff are all very nice and pleasant. A friend who also has blonde hair/thinning eyebrows (as I do) told me about Vanity Brows, so I made an appointment before seeing the results of her microblading. That was a mistake. Even after two touch-ups, her brows are uneven, and not filled in - she still has to use pencil, so what is the point? When I asked my friend if she would recommend Van's now after having her brows done, she said no. Maybe Van's ability just extends to working on naturally dark eyebrows? I would recommend checking out other service providers if you are blonde or have light brows. By the way, make sure you note Van's punitive customer service policy that requires that you pay a $100 non-refundable deposit in order to even make an appt. Be 100% certain you want Van to do your eyebrows, or you will pay $100 for the privilege of experiencing Van's rudeness and unprofessionalism when you question this business practice. read more

TLDR; Microbladed in 2017. BEST THING IVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF. Van is hands down the best in the Bay Area. I've already referred at least 7 people to her and every single person raved about her. Every. Single. Person. Van = Best in Bay Area! ....... I got my brows microbladed by Van in 2017. Back then, I didn't really care too much for my brows. I didn't think there was anything wrong with them nor did I make an effort to make them look nice. That's the thing about brows--we often neglect them because they're just... eyebrows....But we fail to see that eyebrows ARE EVERYTHING. They open up your face, brighten your eyes, and give you so much more personality! I decided to get my brows microbladed after seeing a girlfriend get hers done. Funny thing is, she didn't even get hers done by Van but she told me to go to Van because she liked Van's work more. So I made an appointment and got them done. I wanted to fill in some gaps I had (see photos) and give them some sort of shape. Van takes her time drawing in the right shape for your face. She's super patient and gentle. She gives you numbing cream to prevent any pain in the microblading process. She's goes over each line twice and ensures to match the right color for your brows. The healing process takes about two weeks. It will look really dark for the first few days when it scans but will heal and naturally peel off. You'll look like an angry bird at first but you'll come out a majestic peacock once it's healed. I've referred at least 7 people to Van and they've all come back changed women. Then LOVE their brows and cannot stop talking about Van. Van is my "oh you need your brows done? I got a girl for that" kind of girl. I know that if I send someone to Van, she'll change their lives and they'll fall in love with their brows. I've had friends travel all the way from LA to see Van. I've had Van fix peoples crooked and uneven brows. I've had friends get it done AND I CANT EVEN TELL until they tell me they did it because it looks so damn natural. Her work is INCREDIBLE. Great eyebrows don't happen by chance. They happen by an appointment with Van at Vanity Brows! I've been holding off on getting my eyebrows done for the longest time. I've seen plenty of girlfriends, aunties and cousins get their eyebrows done. Some turn out great and some are walking around looking like Angry Bird! I ran into a friend who's always had gorgeous enviable brows. She told me that she just got her brows microbladed by Van. I was shocked! It looked so natural, I would never have guessed! She sent me Vanity Brow's Instagram account where I proceeded to IG stalk Van's work for the next six months before working up the courage to call her up. The week leading up to my appointment I was so nervous. What if it turns out horrible? I'd be stuck with them forever! What if she makes a mistake? Will I get an infection? Will I bleed to death? I know... I can be a bit dramatic. Van was very patient and sweet with me. She answered all of my questions, advised me to take two Tylenol if I was worried about the pain. The first thing she did was put numbing cream on my eyebrows and I waited for about 45 minutes. I said a quick prayer to the universe in hopes that I won't walk out of there with Angry Bird eyebrows. Fingers crossed, breathe... Throughout the entire process Van was meticulous, she measured my face, took photos, drew in the new brow shape, remeasured and finally started her work. Ok! I won't lie, it was painful at times but not unbearable. The whole process took about two hours. When she finally showed me my new set of brows I was shocked! It was perfectly shaped BUT really dark... so I freaked out again! She consoled me and told me it's normal to look this way, the color will fade over time and it will look very natural. The healing process takes 10-15 days. Waiting for my brows to heal was the hardest part of this entire process! Main thing to remember, don't sweat on your forehead (so no gym workouts!), avoid the sun, and don't get your brows wet when showering. After 10-15 days you're good to go! Now I wake up with beautiful natural-looking brows and I feel like I'm ready to conquer the day! I have two little ones so this is a major time saver. Early morning drop offs? Slap on the sunscreen and we're out the door! If I want to be fancy, it takes less than one minute to darken my already beautifully shaped brows.
