I've always wanted to tattoo my eyebrows and when microblading became a popular thing I was so excited but whenever it comes to permanent or semi permanent choice I wait a very long time to research and decide. After a year of having other people try out microblading first, a few have told me not to get it because of scars and the strokes fade fast. I was then told about microShading. This review is pretty long overdue but I went to Van for my first microblading experience in Aug 2019. She was so friendly during the whole process and explained everything to me. First, she gave me numbing cream and then drew and mapped out the outline of my brows. Then she began microblading. The process didn't hurt because the numbing cream kicked in and all I heard was scraping noises. After the first application was done on each brow, she applied numbing cream again to prep for the second application. Van made my brows more even looking and they're very natural. She gave me some ointment for me to apply during the healing process. I came back for a touchup five weeks later. The place was so pretty, clean, and cute! Van was so kind and even offered me water! I had a bad experience as I was doing a facial with Ivy. The cream was burning my face and I asked her to stop but she didn't until I asked her at least two times. Not a relaxing facial! Van is amazing and have saved my eyebrows! I'm so thankful to have my brows microbladed by her. Up until this year, every time I had to wash off my makeup, I'd wouldn't let anyone come into the restroom until my eyebrows were drawn back in. I first got my brows micro-bladed by Van back in February of 2018 Van is an amazing artist and the best one out there! She's been killing the brow game way back when there weren't many brow artists out there in the bay/Sj area I have always struggled with my brows having over plucked them and then spending at least 20-30 minutes on drawing them alone. Van takes the time to outline and draw out the shape you want before the process starts, which is important as she wants to make sure you love the shape first. As well, when she does start the micro-blading process, Van does them in very detailed and intricate way which makes them so beautiful! This is the third time I've been back for a retouch for micro-blading with the second one done for micro-shading. As she now is the only brow artist I can trust who can make my brows amazing! Thank you, Van!!! It's been such a transformative brow journey from when I first got my brows microbladed and shaded about 2 1/2 years ago by Van. When I first visited Van, she was just starting out and it was great to witness her journey and continued passion for brows. The initial session was roughly (2 - 3 hours) where majority of the time was spent shaping your brows and ensuring that they looked good on you, was what you were looking for, and matched. The second time that I went for my touch-up, it was much quicker (1 - 1 1/2 hours) and the healing process did not seem as big of an emotional rollercoaster. Some things to consider: what is your pain tolerance - while numbing cream is applied and it helps a lot, I think there is a psychological component here and you'll still hear and feel the incisions. Second, the healing process - it's not pretty but it's worth it - there's different stages of darkness and peeling that could seems unpleasant but in all honestly, no one noticed unless you point it out. Lastly, how well you maintain and care for you brows, you'll have to make sure that you don't wash your brows in the beginning, don't peel, and be mindful of sun exposure. All in all, I have received countless compliments on my brows and have and will continue to recommend Van to my family and friends. See you soon Van for my touch-up! read more

Van is THEE eyebrow goddess! 5+ years ago I had a not-so-great experience with microblading so I was a little jaded in wanting to do anything like this again. I'll keep this short but Van is a true microblading artist. I'm a working mom so pre-Van my brows needed extra TLC daily which would take about a good 10 mins to fill and shape. *My Experience: I had my eyebrows microbladed by Van back in February, she is absolutely amazing! Fast forward to June, I am still in love with my brows. Van's microblading technique is so natural and uniquely made to your face/eye shape. I looked long and hard for a good Microblading artist and I couldn't find anyone else that compared to her work. Van is such a sweet person! She was very informative throughout the procedure. She also works from home, and everything in her office is super nice and clean! I was very skeptical that the microblading would be super painful, but thank goodness Van offers numbing cream! I would say it did hurt a little bit once the numbing cream started to wear off. Luckily, Van reapplied the numbing cream back on after the first application (2 applications total). I did eyebrow microblading ($445) + powder effect ($75). It took 20 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect, 20 minutes for Van to do the shading/drawing outline, and 2 hours for her to apply. She did such an excellent job! I don't know why I didn't come in sooner! Now I'm so ready for the summer! Van also offers a free complimentary touch up to those who return within 4-6 weeks. I've been meaning to finish my review from October. I was hesitant on coming all the way to San Jose from the East Bay Area where I live but Vanity Brows was highly recommended by my cousin Sonya. I first came in March 2019 and was a little nervous as she had her little set up in her home. However, Van made my appointment very comfortable and welcomed me in. Her home studio was tiny but cute and clean! She was very thorough in explaining the process and took her time which made me become a lot more relaxed as I didn't know what to expect. Everything she explained is exactly what I went through as far as the healing process. I went back for my follow up 6 weeks later and then again in October 2019 for a touch up. Today is 4/20/20 and my eye brows are nearly perfect and love waking up with nothing to add to my brows!
