I highly recommend getting all of your eyebrow needs/services with Van! I have been her client for about two years. I did the microbladding and powder effect. I am also not a typical client because I have very oily skin and bleed easily but Van is very skillful and patient. She is extremely detailed and always make sure you leave happy. I got microblading done by Van a little over a month ago and just recently went back for my touch-up... and to be honest, I would've been perfectly happy with my eyebrows even without a touch-up! They were THAT great! This was my second time doing microblade and the first time was with someone else. It had been about 3 years since I had it done and much of it had faded away. Van made it work with what I had -- covering over the old hair strokes, matching the color, and re-shaping it. Healing process was amazing! I just simply followed her instructions (super easy) and I barely had any peeling. I was so surprised by this because I peeled so badly (literally missing patches) the first time I got it done that I was expecting the same to happen. My eyebrows still looked almost perfect when I went back for my touch-up but she made it even better! Van is a perfectionist and it reflects through her work. She does not rush through any of it.. she would rather have the next customer wait a little until she is done and happy with her work. I've had a total of (3) sessions with Van (first one was in 2017) and she is AMAZING. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Van and her microblading work! I did a lot of Instagram research for Microblade artists before I was referred to Van by my hair colorist and I'm so happy I ended up going with Van! When it comes to semi-permanent make up, you want your brows to be perfect and Van is a total perfectionist. She will not let you out of the chair until she is 1000% satisfied with her work and that you feel completely happy with the results. However, I will say that post-microblading your brows will need time to heal (~10 days) and then set (~1.5 months) until the shape, width, and color are how she intends them to be. Don't judge your brows too harshly right after your appt as they WILL be bolder, darker, and bigger than they will be once they are fully healed. It took me a while to get used to the new shape of my microbladed brows but Van does a wonderful job creating the brows that are most complimentary to your own unique face so if I have any advice to give, it is to trust her work and give yourself the time to get used to them :) Having my brows microbladed has cut down on my make up routine by at least 5-7min a day and its INCREDIBLE. All I do now is pluck and trim around the microbladed shape and everyday I have perfect brows!!! The first time I had my brows done I wasn't happy!! The shape was off! One of arches was too high and both looked completely different. Isn't that the point of having your brows done. So you can correct them to be more like twins? But mine looked like DISTANT Cousins! SO I suffered for about 1 1/2 years until I could get them re-done. Let me just start off by saying Van is the absolute best in the Bay! I had been researching microblading artists in the Bay Area for a year before I finally bit the bullet. I never drew in my eyebrows before getting microbladed, only because I could never get them to look natural and even (also because I am low maintenance when it comes to getting ready). I was so nervous to get semi-permanent eyebrows because let's face it, it's your face and usually a focal point when you're looking at someone. I have a fairly low tolerance to pain and Van suggested that I take Tylenol an hour before the procedure. Best advice ever if you find that you have a low pain tolerance. She was so responsive, easy to talk to, and able to answer any question I had regarding the procedure. She took her time to map out my brows according to my face shape, face musculature and bone structure. The fact that she mentioned these aspects proves she's detailed oriented and a master of her craft. I just got my eyebrows retouched and I cannot be more in love with the shape, symmetry and color. Van microbladed my eyebrows about a year and a half ago and I have an upcoming appointment the next month for a refresh! She's extremely gentle and the hair strokes are gorgeous! Before getting started they numb the area and that helps a lot!
