Really nice brunch. It was our first time having brunch here and it didn't disappoint. The price of the brunch dishes were very reasonable, especially for the quality. The sides that accompanied that mains (potatoes for my husband and greens for mine) didn't have much flavour and were kind of lacklustre but the mains (breakfast sandwich and potato pave) were very good. We will definitely be back for another brunch. The service was friendly and she did check in regarding more cocktails. The ambiance was beautiful, well decorated for the holidays and playing Christmas music. A very festive environment. read more

This might be the most expensive winery we visited on our trip. It's gorgeous. But it's in the cold weather region of North Okanagan, and we really didn't like the wines, even their flagship pinot noir. Let's just say we had cocktails during lunch. Their restaurant, though was great. We especially loved the Aguachile Negro, a ceviche with fish and a VERY generous add-on of prawns. We had high hopes for our visit to this winery, but our experience started off on a disappointing note. We arrived around 4:30 PM on a Saturday and were immediately turned away by the hostess, who told us they were fully booked and that the last seating was already filled. While we could see that only 4 tables were seated. She was quite blunt, offered no alternative, and wouldn't allow us to wait. It left us feeling brushed off and genuinely disappointed - especially given how much we were looking forward to the visit. As we drove away, we decided to call just in case something had opened up. To our surprise, a very pleasant woman on the phone let us know that a new section had just opened and that we were welcome to stop in. We drove back -- only to be told again by the same hostess that they were fully booked. When I explained that we had just spoken to someone who said a new section was available, she looked surprised but checked with her manager. Thankfully, the manager confirmed that we could be seated upstairs. We were seated in the sun, but the inconsistency continued. While another couple who came in after us received water quickly, we waited about 20 minutes before anyone brought us any. However, once our actual server arrived, things took a complete turn for the better. He was fantastic - warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wines. The meal and dessert were excellent, and he made the rest of the evening truly enjoyable. While the food and service (once we were finally seated) were excellent, our initial experience left a sour taste. I felt we were being treated differently because of our ethnicity. It's frustrating when communication and hospitality aren't consistent, especially in a setting that's meant to be relaxing and welcoming. Hopefully the management will address these gaps so future guests don't have the same experience as we did. read more

First of all, make reservations now - they seem to always be very busy and booked. Food is a little pricey but it is fresh and delicious, well prepared. Excellent service, accommodating kitchen (vegan and other food preferences), bar including spirits. Absolutely lovely views - perfect sunsets. Well set up to deal with sun, rain and wind, perhaps a few fans for very hot days would be helpful. Music provided great ambiance, you could hear it but could also hear the other people at your table. Happy Hour 3-5 pm daily at the bar only on a first come, first served basis. Located at 50th Parallel Winery at the north end of Lake Country. A beautiful drive and setting overlooking the lake and vineyards. read more

Of all the meals on our recent trip to Canada ( and we ate in most fine dining top of the line places from Banff to Vancouver), this was our favorite. Awesome setting just off the lake. Amazing architecture and design were done, so they really needed to deliver on the food. And boy did they! Covered outdoor dining with a great playlist of music. ( so many places play crap annoying stuff, but this was a nice mellow yet fitting mix ). Had dinner so the winery was closed, but we had their rose which was really the best one I have ever had. Based on this I would love to try their other wines. Thanks to our server who was phenomenal all the way thru the meal and recommended this wine over the one that they had run out of that they are well known for. All of the food we ordered was creatively prepared, executed and plated using really fine fresh ingredients. Portion sizes were larger than many places which was nice to see as well. Grilled stone fruit and burrata was perfection in every way. Perfectly ripe and grilled peaches just were awesome as was every component of the dish. Dungenous crab cakes were also a winner. Just the perfect types of ingredients on the dish to perfectly complement the crab cakes. Beautiful presentation with the buttermilk and oil , poured at the table to blend to a mind altering kaleidoscope of shapes which are unique to every dish served. And it tasted as good as it all looked! The specialty pizza was also a winner. House smoked brisket, corn, onions and mushrooms was also one of the finest flatbread type pizzas I have ever had. And let me tell you I am a pizza nut. Crust was perfectly baked, with the right amount of crisp and chew and a nice slightly salty great bread flavor to it. Kudos. Our desert of a house made ice cream sandwich which sounds simple but with outstanding ingredients and a unique presentation elevated the dish to perfection desert status. So many of the dishes on the menu sound and look fantastic and I only wish we would have ordered more but we were full from a large lunch. But I could tell from what was walking by me, they also I am sure would be winners. This chef knows his stuff and has created a great menu in a fantastic location. It is a bit off the beaten path, but worth every minute of the drive which by the way is pure scenic, remote country to ease you in to the relaxation and nirvana a great meal provides. I read the positive reviews and went to BLOCK ONE at the end of my trip in Kelowna. I'm not sure if they switched the chef but it has gone down hill from food to services if the reviews online are anything remotely close to true. I would leave zero stars if I could. The food was awful to mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. All the food I ordered was terrible, and as a Korean, I felt ashamed that they labelled their oily, low quality duck wings saturated with excessively sweet sauce as "Korean-Style Duck Wings". Don't spend your money here, there are so many better options in Lake Country than this place. read more

Really disappointing. I went there a year ago before and it was amazing and I was shocked at how far it has fallen. This was by far the most disappointing experience I had in a restaurant in the Okanagan. The food was awful, especially the chewy cold wagyu steak which was so bad we actually returned it and replaced it with something else. It was actually the worst steak I've ever had. The sablefish was okay at best while the truffle fries were oily and the breaded mushrooms were far more bread than mushroom. And even though management came to our table, they didn't handle the issues well at all. Even more aggravating was their lack of WiFi and the fact that the happy hour, which is advertised as ending at 5:00pm, actually ends at 4:45, the excuse being that the kitchen needs time to transition. All in all a really awful experience. I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Very disappointing experience. The happy hour was misleading. It actually ends at 445 pm not 5 pm and it's not served in the restaurant. What was set to be a great night started off badly with not being able to enjoy the last 15 minutes of happy hour. The food itself was disappointing too. The sablefish was fishy and plain compared to what I've had before. Service wasn't bad but the management was not good at addressing our concerns. Sadly will not be returning to what was once my favourite restaurant. read more

We went here for a family dinner on our last night in Kelowna and talk about ending a trip on a sour note. The food was vile. The fish and scallops were over cooked and tasteless while the ducks legs tasted like they were marinated in cheap sweet and sour sauce. Four of us recently went to 50th Parallel winery for a tasting followed by lunch at their restaurant Block One where we had a reservation. When arriving the restaurant we were told that their patio was available on a first come basis and we had to either wait two hours or eat indoors in space that has no ambience whatsoever and looks like a storage area. Very disappointing to dine inside on a beautiful day with COVID happening. Much to our surprise and before 15 minutes expired the hostess seated over 15 people in the patio !!! When challenged we were told that perhaps they can move us when space became available. Naively we ordered our meal and while waiting for the Drinks and the meal a number of others were seated outside. After finishing the meal they offered to try to find us a table on the patio where we could have dessert. By then we were unhappy with the way we were treated and quite frankly the meal was mediocre at best. After telling them we spent over $700 on wine and another $150 plus in the restaurant we were offered an apology. By then the entire experience soured us on the restaurant so will likely not be going back there again. read more
