We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

We took advantage of the opportunity and ordered the sashimi and tataki, both of which were melt in your mouth delicious! The pork chop with apricots was a unique menu item that pleasantly surprised all our taste buds!

We were up in Big White to celebrate 2 birthdays When we got…read moreto Globe for my birthday dinner reso, we requested a booth...well our host handed us the menus and pointed Is to the booth at the wall. No kind hosting convo, which at 5:30 pm shouldn't be too difficult. She handed us a children's colouring sheet menu for our little one but when we realized she wasn't going to bring us crayons we got up to ask for some to be told they've been breaking them In half so they are out. When we ordered a couple of the 'famous fish and chips' it was so disappointing, no seasoning, just a bland fish with a crispy coating. how in the world is this order so popular!? I had to ask for malt vinegar to get some sort of flavour besides the lemon I squeezed on it. We also had ordered the pizza for the table to share and it was so overly chewy and hard with again, no seasoning that the 4 year old couldn't eat it and that was a huge sign that the dinner was an epic failure. It was my choice to come to that restaurant as it was my birthday but we definitely agreed it was a waste of birthday dinner and will not be returning. I spoke to the server and she saw the food left at the table and that we weren't going to stay to even have a birthday dessert (...and I always get dessert when I'm on vacation!) she gave our bill a discount which was helpful bc we still had to go get our little one a meal she would enjoy. If you want a great tasting meal for you and your family, go to Black Diamond, the service was amazing and friendly, they even walked us to our table. The signature ribs were delicious and they even brought out our dessert with a little candle celebrating our daughter's special day. If you have a cold you may enjoy this spot, but if you like flavour, I do not recommend you wasting a reso on this spot.

Not complaining about families, just not something you want to sit beside all the time when there's just two of you. Our server, Madison, was great - attentive, helpful and friendly. We tried the Korean Cauliflower, it was mostly crispy and tasty - recommended . The Patatas Bravas were good - basically a large bowl of roasted fingerling potatoes - they are best when mixed as the tomato sauce at bottom of dish. We tried the daily bread expecting delicious homemade crusty bread - it was corn bread and was ok tasting but lame for the price. None of the food we tried was bad but it wasn't excellent either - we'll be back to try some other menu items. The winner here is dessert and something I would recommend you go here for = the S'mores. They are great. Cook the homemade marshmallows at your table, yes I just said homemade marshmallows - this was the best marshmallow we have ever eaten. Kids love it, adults love it. Go here, you'll love it. It's ridiculous, messy and awesome. Enjoy!

What a disappointing evening. We always dine at Basil and Mint when we are Kelowna. We had always…read morehad good food and good service for a reasonable price. On a recent trip to Kelowna we met with an old friend of ours who lives in Kelowna and we suggested dinner at Basil and Mint. After dinner our friend said that next time we should go to the Yacht Club with him for dinner. Our server Scott has been our server on previous occasions but this evening the service was not up to the usual standards. It was a busy evening but it took a long time for our entrees to arrive. We shared an order of escargot again but on the occasion the escargot were very small. Our entrees when they finally arrived consisted of a salmon special for our friend, chicken parmesan for my husband and beef short rib for myself. My husband found the chicken lacking in seasoning and flavour. My short rib was dry and stringy. It was terrible and definitely not worth the $42.00. When the server came with the pepper grinder and asked we wanted pepper we all responded yes. She did the pepper for my husband and myself and then walked away. We had to flag down another server to ask for pepper for our friend. When our friend left the table and Scott came by and asked how our dinners were we expressed our disappointment he just asked if we had been served the same meals on other occasions. Should this make a difference? You should be able to have consistently good food and it should not be dependent on what you order. We ordered crème brulee for dessert. It was so disappointing because we had suggested Basil and Mint to our friend. He did not comment on his meal but the fact that he suggested another restaurant for our next dinner speaks volumes. We might give Basil and Mint another try because we have had very good experiences before but they are no longer a must visit when we are in Kelowna.
