I never write reviews, but I recently had an experience here that I thought was worth sharing. This was my first time trying Blo, and I'd sent in my inspiration pictures and was really excited to try something a little different. My stylist and I looked over my inspiration picture, and after about 4 hours of work my hair was significantly darker than expected and I horrifyingly felt myself on the verge of tears. The end results were likely a combination of miscommunication regarding my inspiration picture and how my hair responded to the color, but I was almost preparing myself for walking out of there a brunette. The Creative Director of the salon (Brittany) stopped by at this time (after previously helping out when it looked like the color might not be right), and she listened to my concerns and how I felt about the color and immediately offered to stay hours past her shift to re-do it. They honestly bent over backwards to make me feel that my hair and how I felt about it was important to them. Brittany gave me a wonderful haircut, and I felt 100% that she listened to me and what I was looking for. After re-doing some of the highlights, I ended up with a finished product that was absolutely beautiful. This is honestly some of the best customer service I have ever received in a salon, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I think the little hiccup in my visit actually emphasized how seriously they take customer satisfaction and probably made me a customer for life. Thanks again, Blo! I have been on the hunt for a new stylist after mine unexpectedly retired. I have visited at least a half dozen high end salons in the area looking for someone to get my hair right. My best friend found Blo online and had an appointment with Mel. After seeing her hair looking the best it ever has, I made an appointment. They request that you send pictures of your hair and your desired look via their website, then someone from the salon will call you for a consultation. They went out of there way to accommodate me, give me a reasonable expectation, educate me, and make the process painless and easy. I was able to get an appointment with Taylor, who they recommended for my hair. On the day of my appointment I arrived, got checked in and was offered a beverage. Then I was given a color robe to protect my clothing and greeted by my stylist. Taylor was super friendly. I felt comfortable, pampered, and relaxed! They even have massage shampoo chairs :) The salon is beautiful, clean, professionally run and you can tell they stay up to date on everything. Other stylists were asking questions and seeking feedback. As a retail manager, I loved seeing the team atmosphere. For the first time, I feel like I got exactly what I wanted: a fabulous cut and color, and I actually got my money's worth. Can't wait for my next appointment! read more

I have lived in many places across the US and overseas and when I moved here it was hard to find a salon I liked. Best haircuts i ever got were in England...so finding a place to match what I had become accustomed to has not been easy in this area until...Blo. From the moment I walk into Blo I am made to feel welcome. The place has a very cool vibe to it and the music is killer. The front desk staff is always courteous and helpful. I LOVE Heather she is great at what she does but also extremely good at listening to her customer without taking any offense, she never takes anything personally if I want something altered (which is not always the case in this industry)...;) I find that everytime I come in there I am happy to see her, she is like a friend who is always cheerful and sweet. And the hair, well everytime I get my hair done by her I get stopped and asked where I get my hair done...I think that speaks volumes for her ability! I have also had other stylists color my hair and do my eyebrows when I was in a pinch and couldn't get Heather...and they too were very good, kind and courteous. Like you say on your site, there are no egos at blo - at least if there are they don't show up for work:) My son just had a haircut from Jennifer and she was very good and everyone has been commenting on his hair. Blo is such an excellent business and hair salon. Everyone that works there is not only super professional, but has the best personality, very complementary, and extremely talented. Blo has such a great vibe and the environment is fun and super trendy. I had Zena as my stylist and she did a FABULOUS job. It was my first time dying my hair and not only did it come out looking exactly like my inspiration picture and even more healthy than before, she talked me through the whole thing and asked me questions to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. I had a great experience, but I decided to try a few other places out until I decided on my "go to" salon; Blo is for sure the best in town, and I will not be going anywhere else anymore. I got assigned to a new Stylist my 2nd go-around, Kim R., and I am very impressed with her! She cut my hair a few weeks ago and did a multidimension on me the other day. I have been going to Blo for six years and have gotten great haircuts every time. My hair tends to be thick and wavy, and Lindzy always cuts my hair so that it is easy to style and looks fabulous. She is personable and always has great styling and product tips. Blo has a cool vibe- the music playing is always fun and upbeat. I love the massage chairs at the shampoo stations. I have been a client of Blo since 2008. I have never had a bad experience ever. On a yearly basis I get haircuts, blow outs, and pravana. Of course I have my favorites and I rely on Adrienne for my color and cut. However, if I need a rush appointment where I schedule one day out, I trust all of the stylists because of their expert training. A typical blow out for me usually lasts 4 days. I live in Chapel Hill, own my own business and I am extremely busy so their being open 7 days a week makes a huge difference in my life. Love, love, love this salon. Love this salon - and Bryan! I moved here recently and originally went to another salon located on the other side of 70 in the Brier Creek area - I ended up going to Blo to have the first haircut corrected. parking can be an issue but I've never not found a spot that has kept me from being on time. If you book before 10AM you have ample spots to choice from Hi highly recommend them! Affordable as well for great services. I don't color or perm my hair - I just need a great cut with a lot of movement and Bryan does a great job. read more

Just moved to Brier Creek from out of state. The Blo website asks you to call or go in person to make your first appointment. I went into their shop in Brier Creek over a week ago, on June 26. The receptionist took a photo of my hair. She said they were very booked up but they would give me a call for an appointment. I have yet to hear back. Since we are traveling to NY next week, I am not going to "wait" another week for Blo to have an open appointment. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

This was quite honestly one of the best hair experiences of my life! (And I have tried a lot of different places) everything about the experience was impeccable from the wonderful front of house staff. The receptionist Frances was very quick to grab my beer and let my stylist know I was there. As soon as Zena (my stylist) heard she came right up to greet me and take me back to get started. I have not clicked with a hair stylist so well. We were able to keep conversation the whole time, and oh my, the hair wash was incredible! I won't go anywhere else to get my hair done for as long as I live in Raleigh. Amazing service. I normally do my best to avoid bringing my almost 3 year old to my hair appointments, but she begged to go so I obliged. It was just a cut and I have super straight hair so I didn't anticipate it to be a long appointment. I had never been to blo before, and went at the recommendation of my boyfriend. My expectations were not just met, they were surpassed. The atmosphere is incredible, the receptionist was super friendly, and when I met Jennifer, she had a really cool "air" about her that put me at ease She only used a couple products and really seemed to listen to me as I was telling her what I wanted as far as manageability and length. I was very happy about my hair when I left, it was super soft and the splitends were gone, it seemed healthier and much prettier! I picked my boyfriend up from the airport that night and as soon as he saw me his jaw dropped and he said "Wow, you look beautiful!" After a long day at work (11pm to be exact) and plenty of errands ran, I can only imagine that it was due to Jennifer's excellent cut. I saw later that she is "new" and I just wanted to tell you that you made an excellent choice. The absolute best place in Raleigh for extensions!!! After a VERY bad experience at another salon in Raleigh, which left me with horrible looking extensions (which some of them fell out after just one week), I went into Blo and saw Natasha!!! What a HUGE DIFFERENCE!! Not only did she fix the mess I had, she added extensions that have remained in and cut and styled them perfectly!! Do not go here because they cannot cut hair. I went in for a basic trim and one of their blossom level stylists cut my long hair in different lengths so I had to go back. This salon blows. Yes, it is decorated well and yes, they serve wine and drinks and yes, the stylists are all cute and dressed well...everyone smiles. But notice that they all sport the same haircut and notice that they give each customer the same haircut and style. Over and over again. I've seen about 3 different stylists and 3 different colorists at this salon. The result is always the same. Not the color I requested. Not an interesting style. There seems to be no creativity at work with the stylists here...they appear to be unable to create a look. Just churn out the same thing over and over and over. For the money, you don't get the results you would expect. There is a better salon on the other side of US 70/Glenwood in the Brier Creek area. read more

I've been going to Blo for almost seven years and I have been a big fan the entire time. I originally saw a stylist who moved away, but have been seeing Brittany for years and adore her. I completely trust her recommendations and always feel like she wants to make a joint decision on what we do with my hair. I moved away and was visiting the area for the weekend and the salon was able to accommodate me at the last minute with Sarah. I am one of those guys who will gladly pay $10-15 more for a good salon cut over your typical mall chain salon. However, when I pay twice as much for a haircut, I expect to be twice as happy. After I left Blo today, I definitely feel like I got my money worth. My stylist was Hannah, and she actually spent time consulting and finding out what I want. The outcome was more or less a trim and a texture and leaving key places to grow so I will have flexibility in the future. So in reality, she probably actually did less to my hair than going to mall, but that is what I needed! Every other place will just cut your hair everywhere so you have the visual look of just having gotten a haircut, but the bad news is is you end up with your exact same haircut. I have been wanting to change my hairstyle for years, and have never been able to do this because nobody has actually listened to what I want, but Hannah did that! Haircut wise I am very pleased, and can't wait to see how my hair turns out after two or three more visits. Facility wise this place is very nice. Chairs are comfortable, the shampoo stations have massaging chairs, they have lots of drinks while you wait, and music isn't overly loud or annoying. Conversation with Hannah was great, and I will definitely return to her and recommend her in the future. She also used styling products similar to what I have at home so I didn't have to buy a bunch of extra stuff, but did make some recommendation of products to play around with in the future. Gentlemen, seriously, break away from the mall and the chain salons and see what a difference $15 can make. read more

No one should leave a salon looking worse than when they walked in. Especially for the prices they charge. HORRIBLE salon. This salon, including the owner, have horrible customer service habits. After my color appointment, I was left with orange hair and the owner was unwilling to give me a refund. Their consultation and appointment process is also ridiculous. Would never come back here or suggest it to anyone. Update: 8/17/2016: To defend my review, I kindly asked for a refund which was declined by the owner despite providing multiple pictures of my orange hair which is why the dispute was opened. I asked my stylist for advice on coloring over the huge blunder because no one would go back to someone who butchered their hair. I made an appointment with another stylist in hopes of trying to rectify the situation now that my hair has had time to repair after all of the damage and was told I was no longer welcome at the salon. I refuse to be bullied by the salon owner and by reading other reviews, it seems this is not the first time this has happened with him. Update 8/22/2016: To my defense (yet again), the owner is misinformed by his staff as my original date of service was on May 3, 2016. I was not offered a 'same day' correction as I left the salon at almost 9pm. I sent photos to the Blo staff which clearly show the orange state of my hair. Being a professional, I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands and color over my hair as I had to go to the office the following morning. The orange color began to show through a couple weeks later which is why I reached out to my original stylist as to what I should do (May 25, 2016). I also opened a dispute on May 6, less than 3 days after my appointment date when the owner was being difficult and unwilling to provide a full refund for botched service. Note to the owner: Please check your dates before filling in the gaps yourself. Lastly, to blame a customer for the reason why her hair turned out the way it did further showcases the Blo owner as a bully and someone who ultimately does not care about the customer the second they leave the salon. Please note that if you decide to frequent Blo and for any reason have a bad experience, your situation will never be rectified with a refund. read more

Love love love!!! Blo is a classy, beautiful salon filled with talent. The customer service and hospitality was amazing. Not to mention the haircut itself... I just moved to Raleigh a few weeks ago, so I was definitely on the hunt for "my" new salon. Moving to a completely new area I felt paranoid I would go somewhere with high hopes and come out with a mullet. So naturally I googled salons near me, Blo was the first to pop up with excellent reviews. I scheduled an appointment with Ashley and she was amazing. Excellent haircut, really listened to what I wanted and she was very friendly. Definitely will be making another appointment with her in a few months. From the call to schedule my appointment, to paying my bill reception has been more than competent and hospitable. The customer service here truly is top notch which is very hard to find nowadays. Oh and the salon is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful contemporary, clean, very upscale. (And the shampoo chairs are massage chairs!!)
