I've gone to blk dot before but had only tried the teas. I like my matcha sweet, so I asked for it to be extra sweet and it was absolutely perfect. The matcha is very smooth and creamy; without a bitter aftertaste. The chocolate powder elevated the taste so much! The workers are nice and the location itself is aesthetically pleasing. This place was packed on a Sunday morning around 11am, which isn't so shocking. The line moved fairly quickly but it seems many places orders through the app as there were SO many drinks I saw just sitting waiting to be picked up. It was my first time there so I waited in the line and the person at the register gave me some recommendations for matcha I also got a bagel sandwich. It took about 10min for it all to come out and the matcha was delicious and so was the bagel! When my drink was ready, the barista didn't acknowledge me at all when I picked it up. It also wasn't busy at the time, which made the lack of acknowledgment more noticeable. I understand that not every interaction needs to be overly friendly, but the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Upon arriving I really enjoyed the hip and chill vibe. The cashier person was super sweet and provided me option base on my restrictions and needs. It comes with condensed milk but you could always change it or add the milk you want. Ordered Iced VTM, Iced VTM Tiger, Iced Uji Matcha Latte, Ultimate Brekkie Bowl, Breakfast Sausage Bowl. The VTM coffees were okay, not as strong on the flavor. The Uji Matcha Latte were also okay, matcha flavor wasn't a strong matcha taste. The breakfast bowls were good when eating the bowl ingredients together. The potato seasoning was a bit salty for me. I came to Blk Dot Coffee for the first time in November 2024 and got their Yuzu Mango Matcha. It was SO GOOD. One of the best drinks I've ever had--I've been thinking about it for months. I finally got the chance to go back today, but I found out that the Yuzu Mango Matcha is unfortunately a seasonal drink. *tears I had a bunch of questions (the cashier was nice and patient) and decided on the sea salt Jasmine tea since I wanted something without coffee. I've had sea salt Jasmine teas at other places pretty often so maybe my standards are a bit high, but to be honest, this one was pretty bad. There was so much sea salt foam that I couldn't taste the tea at all and sadly my drink tasted like a salty iced milk. Going to try to fix it up when I get home, but as is, the drink is really salty and the tea was a bit weak. Or maybe just overpowered by the foam. My friend got the Thai tea and really enjoyed it. The ambiance of the place is nice and aesthetically pleasing in a walkable spot in Orange with lots of other businesses close by. This Blk Dot location is in Old Town Orange and so there's street parking as well as a few parking lots around the area. This one is conveniently located in the corner. It gets a lot of foot traffic. There's few seating areas indoor and there's a restroom towards the back. We ordered a few coffees at this location. It takes a bit to get the order but not a deal breaker. I was a bit surprised to find the taste was inconsistent with the Jamboree Irvine Blk Dot location. Came by to try the coffee after brunch at Snooze. Nice cozy interior with super friendly staff. My hubby drinks Vietnamese coffee on the regular so he tried the VTM. I decided to try the Spicy Honey Oat Latte. Both drinks were very good. Hubby said the VTM tasted pretty authentic and the Spicy Honey Oat latte tasted like ginger chews and coffee had a baby. I love ginger chews (great when you're feeling nauseous from pregnancy or motion sickness, or just as a sweet spicy treat) so this was a pleasant surprise. It was really heavy on the ginger flavor so if you're sensitive, I'd skip The only thing was I had bad acid reflux/indigestion the rest of the day until I went to bed so not sure if the strong ginger flavoring has an adverse effect on me. read more

This has been my go to coffee spot for the past year since it is conveniently located next to my school. I really enjoy the dulce de leche latte with vanilla sweet cream, it has the perfect balance of coffee and sweetness. Reason for 3 stars is because the past couple times that I have ordered this drink the baristas aren't fully reading my order details whether I order in store or online resulting in forgetting to add vanilla sweet cream to my drink. Very aesthetic place and nice vibes for a good weather day. Lots of natural/ambient lighting, but limited seating. With most of the seating being a corner bench and single tables. Like 1-2 outlets. Probably good for a short study or chat. On the plus side, they do have a nice parking lot in the back of the building (go past). It's a nice stop in the orange circle to people watch too. The menu is extensive with both food and coffee. I got the matcha +vtm which had their signature concentrated vtm coffee. It was delicious, but if you are into matcha I'd get it without the vtm b/c the concentration does overpower it over time. I recommend sipping and savouring the vtm as it is concentrated. I visited on a Sunday. There was a long line, but the workers were friendly and worked quickly to get through it. I got a large iced caramel macchiato, and my boyfriend got the mango matcha. He absolutely loved his, saying the mango flavoring was unique and delicious (see photo attached). The drinks that are highly caffeinated are marked "VTM" to identify that they are Vietnamese, and more concentrated. I got the caramel macchiato because it didn't have the VTM, so I thought mine wouldn't be too strong. BOYYYY was I wrong!!! I drink coffee everyday, and drank the whole Large as it was super yummy. I was seriously jittery/anxious the whole rest of the day and couldn't fall asleep until 2am (I drank it at 11:30 in the morning, and usually fall asleep around 11pm). This is why I give the 4 stars-- I didn't realize their macchiato would be THAT intense. This definitely hit different. I've been wanting to try Blk Dot Coffee, and found out that it was a modern Vietnamese coffee shop. At first, I was planning on ordering the honey bee latte because I love honey coffee, but the person taking my order kindly informed me that it had spicy honey in it. Since I have a low spice tolerance, I decided to switch my order to the BLK'ND Mojito coffee instead. This was a fantastic decision! The coffee had a refreshing and minty flavor that was perfect as an iced coffee on a warm day. My partner, on the other hand, decided to go ahead with the honey bee latte. He really enjoyed the spicy kick of the honey in his coffee, and said that it was a perfect balance between sweet and spicy and was amazed how well it paired together in the coffee. Overall, we both enjoyed our coffees and the experience at this coffee shop and it was not too crowded when we went. The shop itself is a little small, so it might be hard finding a study spot on a busier day, but it is definitely a place worth to stop by and try! On the plus side, you can park in a parking garage nearby with 3 hour free parking with lots of spots, so parking was not an issue as well.
