Blk Dot Coffee is a neat, urban shop with a minimalist design and straightforward menu. Some bakery items are offered, but the primary focus is a fresh cup of coffee. I popped in on a Sunday morning after a brunch nearby and opted for my regular order, a cold brew with a splash of oat milk. My coffee was GREAT and I was really digging the decor and red brick exterior. However, the mood was dampened as the ambiance inside was a little soulless. No music, no laughter. Additionally, the staff was a little moody for my taste. I got decent service but staff were frowning and not having a good time. Maybe I visited on an off-day? However, the shop wasn't busy nor were customers being unpleasant. I just think the band of baristas needed a social check-in. I can see this shop taking off one day and becoming a hit in many cities. I'm rooting for this place, they just need to work out the social kinks. Note: Merch is available for you Blk Dot superfans.

Tried the yuzu mango matcha with sweet vanilla cold foam, and it actually exceeded my expectations. I'm a big matcha girly, so I'm surprised how well this mix blended together. It was the perfect amount of sweetness too and balance between the yuzu and matcha. You could taste enough of the matcha in the drink, but not as strong as your typical Airoma or Taty's matcha. I like how they were open early enough for me to grab a matcha before work. Service-wise, I can't say much because I ordered through their self-service tablet. They did make the drink fairly quick though considering there were at least 2 groups ahead of me. Parking was also conveniently available on the side of the shop, which made it an easy grab and go.

Blk Dot Coffee - this spot was everything ! I'm obsessed with the city, the town, and the views, and if I lived here, this would easily be one of my go-to spots. While I was in town, I actually stopped by twice I grabbed a regular iced coffee in the morning to fuel up, then came back later to try their Vietnamese coffee before heading home. This is the kind of place where it truly feels like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service was beyond friendly and super helpful with recommendations and what's most popular. The vibe is really cute, and while the seating area is semi-small, there's still room to sit and enjoy your drink. I ordered the BLK VTM and the Spanish latte with oat milk iced - both were bomb. Highly recommend and definitely a must-stop if you're in the area!

Came here on a Thursday afternoon. Very chill vibes. Not many people. Ordered light Vietnamese coffee decaf and a matcha latte. Matcha latte was ok, nothing stood out. The light Vietnamese coffee though is so good. Haven't felt the coffee hit yet but taste wise it's really good.

I want to update my review. This place is still amazing. I wanted to give recognition to Robert. He helped me at the register. He such an amazing soul and got to know him more when the establishment was not too busy. This place is still always booming with customers, and I'm happy to be one of them. It's been a while since I've been since work gets busy but it's always a treat to dome here. Mi love how everytime I come, the place smells amazing with drinks and food stirring in the air and the place is always clean and organized. I'm needing to come back and buy more of their merch. It's cute and fashionable for those who love their caffeine. Thank you Robert for serving me and all that you do! You are wonderful!

Walked in for a quick bite with some friends after a long over night shift. We were tired and barely alive. Every single staff member was so full of life! Immediate mood booster for sure. I opted for the avocado toast and an iced Spanish latte. The coffee was made so damn fast. It was a perfect latte. The toast was absolutely packed with avocado and tomatoes. There was ample seating for our group of 5 and there were still plenty of seats open. It was a quickly spent $18 but I mean, I didn't know where I was at that point and it was delicious. Sold me.

I wanted to get a mango matcha without the yuzu so they made it for me with just mango syrup it was great and perfectly sweet and rich. The matcha here is pretty caffeinated in my opinion so if you're sensitive to it definitely just sip it. The service was great but the bathroom locks are kinda weird I lowkey got stuck but overall would come here again

It was my first time at Blk Dot Coffee with a friend today. It has such a chill vibe and the drinks were really tasty. I really enjoyed my Lychee Peach Black Tea and they loaded it up with lychee jelly! The staff were really friendly and there were some comfy seats. I'd love to see a couple chairs outside too!

A mere 1.3 miles away, I find this eight year old coffee shop that has its name origins from the German word for bread. Evidently, they have a plethora of baked foods mainly consisting of flour, water and often yeast displayed in full display next to the counter. I asked one of the staff if the shop makes their own bread and she said a local artisan bakery supplies them. They look amazing and they even have gluten-free options! This is a family-owned business that provides a more than suitable area for working on your laptop with WiFi access, or simply enjoying your favorite hot or cold caffeinated beverage, oh, and I must mention that they have premium blends as well for the coffee aficionado! Spacious indoor area that doesn't feel cramped and the exposed ceiling vents, the jazzy beats that is playing at a perfect volume and plenty of potted plants give it a balanced chill industrial vibe. There are tables outside too that's perfect for early morning or late afternoon when it's not too hot. I ordered the Vanilla Latte hot and asked that they fill up my insulated mug instead of the cardboard cup. Even with the steady stream of patrons, I received my expertly prepared brew by their hirsute barista, who gave me "beard envy" (I can only sport a goatee) :D The crew are friendly, conversing with the regulars. I can tell they enjoy working here! I don't come to Orange very often but would definitely grab coffee here again if I'm in the area and would highly recommend this place. This place is doing something right and by mere observation, I can tell they will continue to do so for years to come! Kudos!

Wasn't worth the price in my opinion. The cafe itself is spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and out on the patio. I also noticed several tables with conveniently placed outlets, making it a nice spot for studying or getting some work done. During my visit, there were quite a few people working on their laptops, so it seems to be a popular place to settle in for a while. As for the service, it wasn't particularly warm or welcoming. One of the baristas accidentally dropped something, creating a loud noise, and she was visibly frustrated and seemed like she didn't wanna be there which affected the overall atmosphere.

Play coffee is an iconic coffee shop here that honors the history of the building and offers great coffee flavors. Play is located in Old Town Orange off the main circle in this beautiful historic bank. It honestly feels like a pop up within the bank because the rest of the space isn't being used at all, so I really hope that changes and they actually take time to do more with the space because it feels like such a waste and kills the vibe IMO. Staff is all nice, and they move pretty quick considering how busy they tend to be. On the drinks front, I usually get their cardamom latte, which is great, but I've noticed as of late they've been underserving on their drinks which is a bummer (the shrinkflation is real I guess). They also serve some various baked goods which are fine, but not great. Overall, Play has a lot of potential to be great, but they've got a ton of stiff competition in the area. I'd say it's worth a visit, but don't go out of your way for it.

Unfortunately, this visit was one disappointment after another. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. hoping for a peaceful coffee-and-breakfast morning. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. My husband ordered the French toast, which looked suspiciously like it took a quick detour from Trader Joe's frozen aisle before landing on our table. There's nothing wrong with frozen French toast... unless you're charging $14 and calling it brunch. Another friend ordered the granola with berries. After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble. The coffee was decent , but honestly wasn't worth fighting the neighbors for a parking spot!
