Love at first sip. I'm a big fan of Mint Mojito Iced Coffee and this place creates a perfect version of it! Their BLK'nd Mojito has a sharp mint flavor that mixes very well with their dark brew and is topped off with just enough milk. Strong, with the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor. The Iced VTM Coffee hits every characteristic of Vietnamese Coffee.. sweet and SUPER STRONG! I drank half the cup around lunch time and still had a difficult time sleeping that night. They also have a lighter version in the Iced LVTM Coffee. They offer several other specialty drinks that sounds worth trying including Sea Sal Coffee and Thai Tea Frappe. The service here is great! They were all very friendly and even gave samples of their Iced VTM Coffee. Their location is a little weird as it is placed in the middle of some business buildings. The VTM coffee is truly spectacular. I love how it is, all at once, very sweet and very bitter. The parking is kind of difficult on your first visit, though, so just be aware of that. Before store closing, we purchase 3 drinks, the young female barista slammed one of the coffee cups on the counter, coffee spit out from the coffee cover, not realizing we were watching her, she wiped the counter with a used cloth rag and used the same rag to wipe the sipping opening of the coffee cover. We called out the barista and asked her to replace the cover with a new one. She then took offense, took a new cover and threw the cover on the counter at our direction and walked away and No apology. With the attitude and behavior this person has to paying customers, she should be retrained or find another job. You would think with COVID-19 mask requirements should come with being health conscience and practicing sanitary cleaniness . I would not recommend this place given poor customer service and not practicing cleanliness specially when dealing with preparing food and/or drinks. read more

Found this coffee place on a friend's instagram and had to check it out myself, especially because I am one to try different coffee shops looking for their SLEEVES!. Located right near the Google building in Irvine. Checked this place out because they are well-known for their Vietnamese coffee, or as they call it, VTM. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try their VTM because they were out (and this was around 11am on a weekday). However, the guy was VERY nice and suggested the LTVM, which is a lighter version of their Vietnamese coffee in the sweetness department. So, why not? My first time, might as well try some type of Vietnamese coffee. He was right, not to sweet so you can definitely taste the coffee and it was good! Did the job well on keeping me awake while studying. Parking - you are able to park in the parking structure on level 5. Bring your ticket down and have them validate it for you, and they WILL validate for you the WHOLE time you are there, crazy right? I thought that was really nice of them. Anyway, the ambiance to this place is small and quaint. Few decorations on the table near the couches, but loved how their place was covered in wood walls. Overall, I must say, this coffee shop is one I will definitely come back too. Good for studying. Free wifi. Free validation for a parking structure. The most difficult spot to locate, but the formidable coffee makes it damn well worth it. In order to find this unassuming coffee shop, you're going to have to explore an old mansion until you find a double-door wardrobe that functions as a portal into the magical land of Narnia. Turn left at the Sherlock-esque lamppost and you'll find a a timid faun who will lead you to BLK Coffee. All jokes aside, this place is hard to find. Driving through Irvine's corporate area, you'll see a colorful Google logo and an Equinox space below it. You'll even see a dingy Taco Bell across the street. However, you will not see BLK Coffee. Do not fear. Turn into the Google space/parking garage and walk into the courtyard that hosts a few different buildings. BLK is hidden from street view, but right across from Google. After 15 minutes of confused wandering, I met up with my friend here for a quick cup of coffee. I ordered us two iced coffees (24 OZ/$3.55). It may have been the sweltering heat, but those coffees are impressive. The brew is strong without being overly acidic. A bit of creamer and one Splenda later, and I was drinking what was the smoothest (but importantly, not weak) iced coffee that I've experienced in a while. There are a handful of tables outside the shop where you can chat with friends and relax. You can hang out there, and stare at the Google/Equinox building and bitterly muse about how much your own salary doesn't compare to the employees walking in and out of there. Or maybe it does. until philz coffee makes its way closer to me (hb is still too far for me), i'll have to rely on blk dot for mint mojito fix!! the mojito was surprisingly really good! we also got the sausage banh mi and it really hit the spot (good portion), but some reviews are right, they microwave the sausages...! mocha however, wasn't my favorite. it had a strange aftertaste that i'm not quite used to... it wasn't as good contrasting with the mojito. $18.64 (tax incl.) for mojito, mocha, and banh mi, at google prices... but still worth it! indoor seating is a bit limited, there are also a few tables outside. on a friday morning most of the seats were taken... and seems like most people park themselves at the tables for a while. structure parking are validated! will definitely be back to try other offerings on the menu! read more

The VTM coffee here is made differently than your traditional Vietnamese coffee, but it is just as--if not--stronger. It's not overly sweet or bitter. I didn't have to wait until any ice melted in order to drink it. If you're looking for a snack, the $6.50 Avocado Boat will be too heavy. It's half an avocado piled with a ton of tuna salad then topped with sprouts and bacon bits. The one I ordered had a very pale green avocado so it was lacking a lot of the flavor and richness of a good one. A+ for service too. The guy at the counter patiently answered our questions and made helpful recommendations. None of the "oh, everything is good" type answers. Really great atmosphere, the baristas are really friendly, comfy couches, Google Guest wifi, and the LVTM. Oh my god. Soo good. If it was open later on the weekends, I'd definitely be here. All. The. Time. I'm definitely considering "working from home" and just hanging out here all day. It's actually right next to the entrance to the Google building, and when you ask them for the Wifi password, they'll tell you to connect to Google Guest. Of course this wifi is speedy. It's Google we're talking about! It's almost 40 Mbps download! Which is way better than my home internet. The only drawback, I would say, is the parking. I tried parking in the parking structure (managed by IMPAC) on a weekday morning and all the visitor spots were out. I had to wait a while before finding a spot. BLK will validate your parking, but only up to $3.50 (1 hour's worth). After that, it's $1.75 per HALF hour (and they round up). Is that high price REALLY necessary, IMPAC? But BLK, I'll definitely be back despite the parking. Your drink was that good. I'll just make sure I've got a timer on next time. read more

Tips: -BLK is in the middle of a bunch of various businesses, but park in the structure across from it in the visitor spots! -If you're planning to stay for a long time to get some work done, validate your parking ticket RIGHT BEFORE you leave! I stayed for ~ 3 hours and my whole visit was free :) They have couches, a few tables indoors with outlets, and outdoor seating! -Try the Vietnamese Iced Coffee! You can also alter the sweetness level, and they also have the Black Vietnamese Iced Coffee (which is without the condensed milk). SUPER STRONG! Located on the first floor of the google office so therefore, you will have SUPER FAST wifi! (no kidding, I've never had faster wifi in my life before..) I've ordered 2 of the more popular drinks from here before: 1) Light Vietnamese coffee (LVTM) - IT IS STRONG. Despite it being "light," I probably had only 5 sips & was good on caffeine for around 4 hours. I saved the rest for later; so IF YOU ARE IMMUNE TO CAFFEINE, try this drink! If you're SUPER-immune to caffeine, get the regular vietnemese coffee! haha 2) Sea Salt Iced Coffee - I'd give this drink a 6/10. It was decent but something about it was just a bit off. The workers here are awesome & are super nice. They seem to earnestly care about their job & are always tidying up the place to keep it clean. This is a good spot to come and get some work down but PLEASE turn down the AC a bit! The first time I came, I froze to death so I couldn't stay much longer, despite liking the environment. I go here every time I need extreme caffeine. Regular VTM will last me from the morning at work until when I get home. Lvtm is less sweet, sometimes I'll get that with almond milk if I just want a morning caffeine push. Just tried their new "Blackened mojito" and I love it. It's like coffee and a breath mint. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and i know that it's suppose to taste bitter, but this one was just a whole new level of bitter but drinkable by sipping . Just started working in the office complex where BLK Coffee's set up. No, I don't work at Google. That'd be super awesome, but I barely know how to program my Mr. Coffee let alone code. Still, my job requires the occasional pick me up and BLK Coffee is always ready to hook me up with some insanely strong, yet peculiarly smooth Vietnamese coffee, which they call a VTM. I've also tried their Sea Salt Coffee, which was nice, but didn't shine as strong as the VTM. VTM comes in hot and iced varieties. And if you're like me, they also come with a side of jitters and bubble guts. The price I pay to create PowerPoint decks ad nauseam. Moreover, they've got some really tasty banh mi sandwiches. The bread is softer than most baguettes. I appreciate it; my dentist does not. Swing by if you're in the area. They'll take care of parking for you. I recommend you come on the weekend as the parking garage is a fustercluck M-F. Too many cars and too few spaces in this area. read more

Ok I was finally able to try their cold brew coffee, and it was amazing. They use their beans from KEAN, and I'm an absolute huge fan of KEAN Coffee. I was so happy when I heard they use their beans because I actually live pretty far from both KEAN Coffee locations while BLK Coffee is literally a minute away from where I live. Also, the pricing is a steal for their high quality coffee ($3.55 including tax for a 24. oz drink). I knew I shouldn't have had the VTN or LVTN but I fell into the hype and was too curious. Modern and hipster looking with great coffee! I always get the VTM coffee and it is superb. I love coming to BLK to get work done since they are right next to Google's office (so you get super fast wifi). There are a few tables and a shared seating area, but it doesn't get crowded usually. The owners are also really nice and sometimes give you pastry samples at closing time. I wish they were open later than 5pm, but it's alright since I feel most productive between 2-5 anyways when the sun is shining inside the cafe. Aesthetic on point! Parking can be confusing at first, but just head into the parking structure and ask the cashier at BLK for validation. Then stick your parking ticket in the machine, followed by the validation cards, and you're good to go! read more

Came here in the morning to study with my boyfriend before his final at UCI. It is located off the 73 freeway on center point. I believe the only parking was in the structure. Sucks that this place only validates for $3 (1 hour) every half hour after is $1.50 and they round up. The coffee shop is located to the right after you cross the street from the parking structure. It provides open seating outside, perfect for studying on a warm day. But I also like the openess of the inside, very well lit with natural lighting because of the windows. There is not that many tables and chairs inside though. I would love to use this as a study place but the parking fee is kind of ridiculous. The VTM was really strong but also really sweet, the alternative was the LVTM (unsweetened). Both drinks were really good and I would love to come back to try others. I also tried the chicken banh mi, it had a nice flavor to it packed with a thick piece of chicken. Eat this warm so the bread doesn't get soft and chewy. read more

This coffee is pretty much my life right now. The VTM iced coffee is toooo good. It's pretty sweet, but I think fairly strong. My friend orders the sea salt iced coffee and it's tasty but I think the VTM wins. They do have a light option for the VTM, which is not as creamy but fulfills the need for this caffeine. I have once dropped my coffee and nearly cried because it was such a waste of good coffee haha. I just left from this place and had a really bad experience. This is my 3rd time coming here and they forgot my order twice. It seems like they don't have a procedure for people that order more than one drink at a time. The first time they forgot my order they gave me extra points on their reward program but this time I was given a dirty look and given my half fast drinks without even looking at me. Ohhh I came here two weeks ago to get some work done, and all I can say is that this is a really neat little establishment! It's your average homey little coffee shop, where the tables are conducive to studying/getting work done, and natural sunlight streams in through the glass walls. The owner was really kind and fidgeted with the shades because he was worried I'd start getting baked. I told him that I was indoors all the time for work and didn't get enough sunlight anyway - let me fry!! Highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee. It's legit, and will have you WIRED. I'm probably going to opt for something a little less next time. And if you're here to catch up with friends or just breathe, they have a nice set-up for outdoor seating. Cons: Parking is a pain in the butt, but they do validate so that helps. I was working on a Saturday, and they closed at 3pm! Gah. I was so surprised. Took over the old coffee bean spot. They have milk tea on the menu. I asked them to customize with almond milk and vanilla with no creamer. They did it! Tasted good and was happy they accommodated my request. They didn't have to do that but shows they are flexible for their customers. Good job! read more

The highlight here was the VTM Iced Coffee which was pretty sweet at first sip but as I kept drinking and stirring, the boldness came out and surprised me! But it was PERFECT! I had heard about it being the strongest Vietnamese coffee in the area so being the coffee junkie I am I had to do some investigating! Many coffee spots that have Vietnamese iced coffee on the menu don't typically hit the mark on flavor, this place tho? SPOT ON! Parking here isn't bad at all! Because it's FREE! You park in a structure but when you come in all you ask for is a parking validation and they give you one, just stick it in the machine at the end and be on your way! I give it 4 stars however because their croissants were a little hard and were tough to bite into, tasted a bit stale as well. Also I had to pay for parking.... Cashier snatched my card ... Didn't ask me if I wanted to stay or to go.... I don't like coffee in a paper cup... After 10 mins I took 3 gulps ... Awesome place! I've only been here once but I loved it right away, mostly because of the service. I wanted to try this place so I took a slight detour to work, which wasn't a big deal at all. But when the barista asked me where I was coming from he was very appreciative that I came out to try this place and accommodated a pastry! Just goes to show that they truly value their customers. I love strong coffee and they have great, bold, strong coffee! I had the VTM which was nice and sweet and the Sea Salt which was bitter and tangy. I'd like to get a straight up black coffee next time to really get the flavor of the beans but you can still definitely taste it through the milk and cream. We were driving from San Diego to San Francisco and came to the 85 degree for milk tea. But my husband felt like to have some coffee to stay awake for the long trip to San Francisco. The employees are really nice and friendly. They actually take the time and effort into making each drink rather than trying to pace them out. Tried their VTM and I gotta say it's pretty strong but the sweetness balances it out. If you're less of a sweet person than go for the LVTM. It's a lot lighter on the sweetness and there's still a good amount of caffeine. Definitely quality over quantity read more
