I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It was clean, just a little outdated. I particularly loved the framed kitten art on the walls. I kept looking around for more to keep me entertained. I ordered Eggs Benedict. It was average. The Hollandiase sauce tasted like it came from a can. Again, not a bad thing, but if you wanted to step up your game, making it fresh wouldn't be a bad idea. Spouse orders pancakes where ever we go. They said they were a little dry and not their favorite. Coffee was also average. The creamers on the table seemed hard to come by. If I were in town again, I might try them for lunch and see if that's any better. We had a good time in Yucca Valley. C&S Coffee Shop is just average.

But, they know how to cook! The Vegan BLT and the Tuna Melt were near perfect (and I have had my fair share of both). Good bread, good mayo, good "bacon", flavorful tuna, good cheese, heirloom tomatoes.... Seriously, you will not find better, anywhere. So if driving through 29 Palms, do yourself a favor and grab a bite. Oh and the store next door has some hipster cute stuff, too. Enjoy!

We got wraps last time we stopped in, today we ordered a couple BLT's +avocado #delish. We also got the Sabrina Smoothie which is the main reason I'm doing this review. Sooooooo good! The inside is clean with several tables to sit, including a large table for a bigger party. We sat on the small patio and enjoyed the nice May weather with a breeze. We're here for the weekend, so I'll probs be back for another smoothie treat!

The turkey, while good, wasn't freshly carved, which took a little away from the "special" feel. And while the breakfast sando was light and all alone on the plate, the way the mayo fused the flavors together was delicious. But I do wish the beverage fridge had prices listed so I wasn't surprised at the register. The restaurant, while it's a bit tricky to find on the side of a building, inside is a modern space. It's spotless and very clean. The aesthetic is minimalist and if it were just you, it could feel a bit cold, if not for the steady buzz of activity behind the counter. There were three staff members who moved swiftly. As I watched I was impressed with their efficiency as the kept things running smoothly. When we entered an hour before closing, we made the mistake to sit and pause to look over the menu. It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. Overall, this is a certified foodie stop: quality over quantity: taste over filling up.

A very cordial, pleasant, and kind young lady working there just the other day. A surprisingly lovely glazed donut I might say. But I kept looking around there thinking "in a small town like this how can they even sell enough donuts to keep this joint open but they obviously do". I could think of some simple things that could be added, but I wouldn't want to give away my secrets. All throughout the United States there are donut shops that have the same recipe apparently, not sure how that works? A lot of them are Asian run in the San Francisco area. I always laughed at the signs that would say "Donuts and Chinese Food" before walking in I would always say to myself: "Nothing like a good egg fu yung jelly doughnut"! Yeah, this spot could use a little more hipness for just spending a few dollars on some paint and artwork, etc. there would probably be a line more often. I don't know. I wasn't there on a weekend. Also, the beautiful new laundromat or remodeled laundromat next-door should really be a good revenue source for the hungry laundry goer....... But certainly grab a doughnut. They're very tasty. So keep heading up the road a bit to Joshua Tree as there are many cute little shops in the three block area there which I guess is called downtown Joshua Tree? I really dig all the new modern prefabs that are popping up which appeared to be primarily Airbnb joints(?)- a lot of style man! Yeah, I'll be back. I met some really cool people in that couple of blocks. If you haven't been there then hop in your car and drive up there right now and get yourself a nice little jelly doughnut...... "Thank ya. At 2 bucks and change it was just fine and a fair value. Glass case and pink boxes, you would think that's charming, it's not. The decor is firmly stuck in the 70s but not in that mid century stylish way. The laundromat nexr store was freshened and modernized recently. Some thought and about 15k could offer much needed updates. Don't change your cashier though, she was wonderful.
