Donut case

Standard donut shop, not great but not bad. Have a good selection of stuff here. Perfect for on the road breakfast.

My cousin and I love their Thai tea
Dena G.

Who'da thunk that a little donut house in Yucca Valley could offer the best Thai tea I've ever had? I was skeptical, but my cousin, who lives in Yucca Valley, insisted... And lo and behold... She was right. O, The yumminess. The sweetened condensed milk. The Thai spices. The rich deliciousness. I like my Thai tea over ice. My cousin likes hers with no ice and with tons of whipped cream. Any way you want it, they'll do it. Any way have it, it's worth the calories. Any way you cut it, it's the best Thai tea I've ever had. And in a little tiny donut shop in Yucca Valley. Go figure.

Pho, tacos and other delicious stuff on the menu besides great donuts.

This place is awesome. We tried some bakery/sandwich place down the street one Saturday morning but it was really busy and slow so we opted for The Jelly. Wow. GREAT donuts. I loved jelly donuts usually for the filling but the donut itself here was really good. We got a nice selection and enjoyed them all. They also have pho menu (with hilarious names) and tacos (crazy huh!?) and several people ordered those while we ate our donuts. Must have been good!! This is definitely a place we will revisit the next time we are in the area.

Great spot to get a donut before getting out of town. Nice employees and decent prices. Wish they served pho here too like Pho Nuts 29!

It's nice to leave the shop and not have the box be dripping grease. The family and I are definitely coming back.

Get there early enough as they make them fresh every day and can run out. Sign of quality!

Pretty good donuts. Decent selection, especially for being in the desert. Fresh, sweet, and gooey. No complaints.

It was delicious. It was a banh mi sandwich that is not just one of those, "It's good for a small town," but really genuinely good and well-prepared. The sandwich was about $13, if memory serves. Whatever sauce they had on it was also delicious, and the sandwich was filling. The restaurant is a very large, airy, comfortable space in back of Rite Aid and Aldi, and is a pleasant space. The place also has coffee, bagels, croissants, bagel sandwiches, poke, and pho, along with numerous kinds of tea (milk tea, Thai tea, Matcha tea). The pho and bagels I saw other people eating looked delicious. The people who worked there were very friendly.

They also forgot the bag of bean sprouts/lime/cilantro/jalapeños for the second bowl of pho. But, with only two pho spots in the high desert, can beggars be choosers? Vibes were nice inside though, with a lounge area with a stage for performances that you can also eat at while chillin' on some really comfy couches and chairs. Might have to meet up with friends here sometime for random hangs without having to cook. They also get a star for the nice lady working the register.

The donuts are hands…read moredown some of the best I've ever had, perfectly balanced, fresh, and clearly made with a lot of care. But what really surprised me was the burger. It's honestly one of the best around. Juicy, flavorful, and done right with no shortcuts. What makes this place even more special is Amelia herself. Her story, her hustle, and the passion she puts into everything you see and taste is inspiring. You can feel that this isn't just a business, it's something she truly built and believes in. Places like this are what make the food scene so great. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out.

WARNING: Will ruin all other apple fritters for you and you'll be coming back for more!…read more I average about 3 or 4 apple fritters a month (with my doctor's approval, of course!), so I consider myself something of an expert. But I have a major problem now: Amelia's has officially ruined all other donuts for me. While I know many locals come here for the cinnamon rolls or burritos, the Apple Fritter is the real hidden gem. The husband (Jim) has a well-guarded secret recipe, and it shows. Unlike the mass-produced stuff I get back home, Jim and Amelia (the nicest couple you'll want to meet to start your day) use real apples and they are incredibly fresh. The fritter is soft, the topping delightfully sweet (I'm sure my doctor would approve) but not overpowering, and baked with a perfectly tender interior. It left me with the feeling I had the sweet taste of kindness to start my day. Why go to Starbucks to order a Grande from a snarky barista, when you can get coffee here that complements the fritter, warms the morning, and leaves you with a residual happiness-buzz for a great day of adventure? It's the best way to begin the day after enjoying the early morning stars and nature's goodness. I'll never have another apple fritter back home again. If you are in Idyllwild, do not skip this experience and brighten your morning (I'm sure your doctor will approve). :)

We decided to partake in an afternoon treat for our toddlers and ourselves and walked into OJ's to discover the biggest donuts we have ever laid eyes on! We purchased a glazed sprinkled donut the size of a a frisbee as well as a couple apple fritters (cause you know a solid donut shop makes a good fritter)...now truth be told I have never been a fan of the puffy glazed donuts, they just don't have enough umf or gusto to them, I like the cakes ones...but, I took a bite of the giant sprinkled sugar bomb and it is the best glazed donut I've ever had! The kids absolutely loved, and we have enough leftover for a week of treats! The apple fritter is delicious as well, OJ's knows how to make a donut! Not only is the product good, but the service was so so friendly and warm! They even threw in some donut holes to add to the aesthetic appeal of our Giant donut! Prices are par for the course and they offer plenty of other drinks and flavors as well. We will be back very soon to try new flavors!
