The design was perfect, totally on-theme, and it became the center of attention the moment everyone walked into our Airbnb. They instantly knew they were in the right place with good vibes. The staff was top notch. We called to let them know we were on the way, and they gave us clear directions to their location in the strip mall (on the back side--FYI). She also told us our cake was stunning and ready for pickup. She was so kind and careful when handing it over, and even gave step-by-step instructions on getting it home safely and storing it. Melissa was very accommodating with the shorter than their recommended lead time of about 3.5 weeks versus 4 weeks in advance and was very responsive throughout the entire process through email with the final confirmation over the phone. On the day of the pick up, they also remembered we were coming in from LA and followed up with us to make sure we were going to get there before they closed at 4PM. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from that could be cake, but we settled on traditional chocolate, one of the flavors that allow for a custom design. We sent them an inspiration photo of what we were looking for along with the color scheme and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on the looks. The cake was well received by everyone at the party. Since I was unable to get one of their more daring and creative flavors as the custom cake, I did go ahead and order a dozen of their Dubai chocolate cupcakes and very much enjoyed them.

It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. Can we have a 100 start option, please? Sweet Chicks Bakehouse is the deliciously incredible gem that we have needed in this area for so long, and SHE DELIVERS TO CALIFORNIA!! My dad lives 2 hours away, and he is so hooked that he is placing orders weekly, so that right there tells you everything you need to know! Local pickup is contactless, quick and easy. My family and I have loved everything we've tried from Sweet Chicks, the cake jars, the bagels, the cupcakes and of course the cookies are all absolutely delicious. I even have my sister hooked!
