This place is very family friendly. It's a coffee shop and an ice cream shop. My kids LOVED their ice creams. They also offered vegan ice cream options. They have a really cute seating area inside with a huge chalkboard that my kids loved. The employees were super sweet and friendly. We were immediately greeted as soon as we walked through the door. All I wanted was espresso on vanilla ice cream and they couldn't even acknowledge me or took 11 minutes and I was still not asked what I wanted to order or anything so I left. This place is a gem. It's so adorable. A retro type ice cream and confection oasis. We found it because of Yelp! (Our community is the best!) This place got 5 stars for a reason. Been coming to Jtree for years and I've never been or seen this place. Took my 3 y/o to the park for a day of scrambling and exploring. And wanted to get him a fun treat before the drive home. Opted to skip out on boring Rite Aid and came here instead. It was well after dark and there ain't much outside lighting but we came for ice cream so we weren't skipping out. didn't know what to expect but it's a nice little ice cream shop I thought it was their own ice cream similar to Cold Stone Creamery or Baskin and Robbin's but its a mixed of ice cream brands but they sell only Thriftys. They do offer more than ice cream which is nice but preferably it just didn't feel authentic like other ice cream shops. We should have just waited for Salt and Straw or something else read more

This little gem of the desert is a must stop! I was going camping out by Indian Cove and stop for some ice cream; BEST DECISION EVER! The employees were such darlings and they answered all my questions. The shop itself has cute decor and little souvenirs you could purchase. Completely hits the spot after a long work week. The young woman who worked there was equally helpful and extra friendly. This place is super cool. We stopped in here last week after dinner next door and chatted it up with a lady who I assume is the owner. She was very nice and told us all about the place. This is a great little shop. They've obviously got ice cream, but there is all kinds of other cool stuff here from vintage candy and craft sodas to banana splits and shaved ice. They also make their own pies and have a mean cup of coffee. If you are in the area, you definitely have to pop in and show some love to this place. It's kind of hidden from the main road behind Dillon's burgers and beer. Dinner at Dillon's and dessert at Coyote Cone make for a good evening. Enjoy! read more

Frontier, Joshua Tree Coffee meh, this place has great coffee, creative lattes like the Red Dog (creation by co-owner Alex) cayenne, brown sugar, milk of choice. It's literally so stimulating that I can get a lot accomplished after drinking a cup. Aside coffee they have ice cream, the best date shake in the high dez if not the only one, homemade waffle cones (not GF), a variety of old school candy, homemade candy apples, Rice Krispies, but what I love the most is the shaved ice with lavender syrup! Now they have Nacho Mondays! Great place, the owners Shawna and Alex are the sweet folks and long time locals with a passion outside of all things sweet, but for the community! I met Shawna when I threw out a post looking for help to help haul out an illegal dumping in our community! She has won my sweet tooth and heart. Butttt... first we ordered shaved ice which were cool however we paid an extra dollar for the sweet cream which they really skimped on. :/ considering you must pay extra for this I was hoping they would be a little more generous.
