I visited this country store after apple picking since my friends and I were craving apple cider and my experience here was pretty good. The apple cider was good, but I would've preferred it to be colder and not served in a Styrofoam cup. I'm assuming that's because it was the end of the day and it looked like they were running out of apple cider and other materials. I also got the apple cider popsicle for $2 which was a good deal. It was good, but I didn't like how the juice separated from the water during the freezing so it tasted like regular ice by the time I got to the core of the popsicle. For food, I tried their Strawberry Banana Sweet Bread and that was my favorite thing! It was not too sweet and moist. It was $6.50, but not too bad for a whole loaf. The interior was fun and rustic. There are several things to shop for from different baked goods to nic nacs. The service here was pretty good and the staff seemed nice and personable. There's some parking out front as well as some picnic benches and tables with nice views of the mountains and foliage while you enjoy your treats. Overall, a good stop for some casual shopping and to enjoy a sweet treat if you're ever in the Oak Glen area. read more

I have been getting my apple fix since I can remember from this local spot. I moved away to Hawai'i and missed the apples so much. I took a trip up to get my fix. The staff was so nice and friendly made me miss home. The. Christmas jam was delicious and now my favorite. I was worried they weren't going to have winesap apples since it wasn't apple season but I was so happy they had them. I was able to bring back a bag to Hawai'i with me in my carry one. Oak Glen has been a wonderful local destination for simple, wholesome activities for our family for over twenty years. I grew up on a farm and all of my family were farmers, and it's important to me that my children grow up with an appreciation for that way of life, as well as an appreciation for the beauty of nature. This wonderful place left my children with many happy memories, as we would always stop on the way to the petting zoo just as my grandmother and I would stop at the farm stand on the way to the lake. The shop is charming-filled with interesting trinkets and intriguing flavors. I will say that sadly Oak Glen in the past few years changed for me-one place in particular I couldn't patronize any longer unfortunately, but this is one I can wholeheartedly recommend because the people are genuinely nice. read more

I absolutely love Moms! I went there for the first time this past weekend with my bf. He's been before, as he lives in Redlands. Moms is so charming, cute, and nostalgic for me, as I grew up in rural Oregon. I love there is a place that is hanging on to things that make America...America! Evette and Donna gave us a lot of samples and we were so spoiled for choice. I think we spent a couple hours trying to decide what to get and just being amazed. After our party had u-pick apple and tried apple cider donuts, this mom-and-pop market was our last stop and I am glad that I didn't skip this place. This small market offers various homemade jams, jellies, honey, preserves, pickled products, etc. If you didn't get a chance to pick any apples because you miss the u-pick apple season or didn't pick any good looking apples, then you can find some of the most BEAUTIFUL and pre-picked apples in u-pick brown bags ($14 per bag) inside the market and it would be less than what you pay at a u-pick farm ($20 per bag.) In addition, you even get to choose different varieties of apples too (e.g. rome, braeburn, gala, etc.) There were also plenty of not-so-pretty-looking apples in big cardboard boxes outside of the front entrance for much cheaper prices. At the end I got a bag of homemade dark chocolate almond clusters ($8.95 per 1/2 lb) and it was amazing. The market opens all year round except Christmas and you can order some of their most amazing homemade products on their website too. It was also one of the few places in Oak Glenn with a sign that asks customers to wear masks upon entering and all employees had their masks on (San Bernardo county doesn't have a mask mandate so the shop doesn't have to do this.) Such a sweet mom n pop place located on the way up to Oak Glen Mountain shopping area. Parking in their own parking lot in front, you walk into a warm, friendly market which includes some local produce (yay avocados) with all sorts of apples, homemade breads, locally made soaps, ciders and shelves of jam -- sugar free and otherwise. I had such a hard time narrowing my purchase on a recent visit, but went with the Bunny jam, Olive sourdough bread and some produce. I would have liked cider, but since it was late in the day, they ran out (no surprise)! Mom's also looks out for their customers requiring masks and the distancing rules when check out at the cashier. Bees were buzzing at the front door, they made sure patrons made their way around to the side door. An elderly patron announced her 90-something Birthday, they gave her a couple of free apples. excellent caring people. Could not visit the facilities in person because I'm disabled, but was ordering for over two years directly from the very helpful associates there. Usually good preserves. When done right their pumpkin butter is excellent. Better than Trader Joe's pumpkin butter. Unfortunately, their quality with end of season product has been suspect. I returned (at my expense.) Jars of very thick, almost blocked up, pumpkin butter, right before they started packing this year's crop. Also returned some blueberry preserves, which are terrific, but this product was extremely thick to the point of being blocked up as well. Again, it was before they started packing this year's crop. Called this Sunday morning And I asked to place some more orders for their excellent peach preserves. They put me on hold for a minute and one of the owners, Allison, jump down the line and told that she basically doesn't want to do business with me anymore. She basically insulted me . I can't imagine in this day and age, and with social media so prevalent, and unlike all of her other associates, she was rude and insulting, and basically told me to take a hike! I've been in the printed packaging business as an owner and serve some of the biggest food companies in the country , as well as smaller, up-and-coming companies in the natural food, health and good for you category. I've never been as insulted in my life. I didn't say a word to her on the phone, but it's a shame. In this day and age is the last thing you would do with social media access by everyone, etc. It's too bad. She's not a reflection of her hard-working associates and their usually good products. The owners are so incredibly kind, it brought to mind southern hospitality. You can tell they truly love their craft and love sharing it with the world! They give out free samples of apple slices as you walk around the shop & explore their vast array of Knick knacks and huge assortment of jellies and jams. They also let you sample any of the jellies before you buy. I came for their famous apple butter I read about online umm idk why I thought it would be like the apple butter and bread you get at Lucille's BBQ but it was more like applesauce. It was still good it just wasn't what I was expecting / hoping for. I ended up leaving with an apple cider ice pop. Started by 2 mom's, this place has been around since 2002. As my husband, our little girl dog (they gave our little girl a dog treat when we came into the store) and I were leaving Oak Glen, after a fun day of apple picking yesterday, we decided to stop here. The name intrigued us and figured it would be worth a stop. We were warmly greeted by the 2 employees inside and offered a sample of a refreshing Fuji apple and a bartlett pear. Both were delicious and a special for either 2 lb bag was selling for $8. One of the employees (whom I assume could either be the manager or possibly the owner?) had asked if we like honey. She let us try a few samples and told us that they can offer anything in the store to sample, in which we ended up trying several different jams and jellies, mustards and a few sauces. In the end, I decided to get a jar of the Bunny Jam ($8.95), which was told they had made and sold this jam around Easter of this year, thus the name. This particular jam is made with peaches and strawberries. I love that there are so many unique combinations of preserves, jams/ jellies and other jarred items. I really wished Mom's was closer. This is definitely a great place to pick up hostess gifts, a gift for those who love to do their own cheese and charcuterie boards, a gift for those who do afternoon tea or anyone you know who would like a little extra sweetness in their life. read more

I told the lady that I'm picky about eating my apples, as I do not like apples that have blemishes or bruises, etc. The woman picked out another bag; one that looked better that the one we were going to buy. I have mixed feelings about the quality of the apples we purchased. So far, although the flavor is fine, two out of three have not been crisp, like the one we tried in the store. We stopped in here on our way down from the Village in Oak Glen. The Lines for checking out are really long on the weekends, but we wanted to try one of moms pies. She sales a whole pie for $15.95 or a 1/2 pie for $8.95 we tried the half. It was good but it wasn't the Monster pie at the restaurant in the Village. People were not joking that this is a 5 star experience. However, keep an eye out for the place. It's not that big, and you can zooom by without realizing it. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Kate, giving me a slice of apple, and then a slice of the peach. She pointed out things in the store, and then went to help another customer. When I wandered back to the area with the canned preserves, etc. Kate was demonstrating how to make a faux lemon meringue pie using graham cracker, lemon preserve, and whipped cream. She was handing out samples after samples, putting Costco to shame. We asked her if she was "Mom" which she replied she was "a" mom, but not "the" Mom, and joked she was about as bossy as a mom. Mom's is brainchild of one of the Riley family, not sure exactly what the relationship is. But the Riley's have quite a reputation around these parts, with their fingers in many pies (pun intended, but also true). This is a small fruit and veggie stand on the outskirts of Oak Glen, and actually a good place for a first stop. They not only carry the fresh seasonal fruit, primarily a wide variety of apples, but they have a wide range of canned goods (as in, canned in jars like grandma makes). Jams, mustards, sauces, apple butters, apple cider, pickles, and so on. You feel like you have been sucked into a time warp back to the 1930's when you enter. I actually prefer this little store to the cheap, touristy confusion that is in town. You are supposed to come on in here and sample the goods. They are quite friendly and excited to share. We never miss this stop when we come up here for an apple funday. read more

My family and I stopped in to this business on the way down from Oak Glen. We were delighted to find such a fun, friendly store where we could buy some fresh-pressed cider. My husband and I got a kick out of the girls sampling some of the many types of jam and preserves. Their "Christmas" jam was to die for as was their pumpkin butter. My husband asked tentatively whether they had any tomato jam, which he is always looking for but never finds. He was thrilled when they said they had it. We both sampled it first, naturally, and it was delicious so we can home with a jar of it. It's nice to know a shop where we can buy it on a regular basis! We both recommend stopping in to Mom's Country Orchard for their fresh fruit, preserves, cider, and other items such as specialty hand creams. 5 stars! read more

I visited this store today and was stopped by 3 employees which asked me to put on a face covering. I looked around this small store and saw that half of the customers didn't have one. I also noticed that I was the only Hispanic customer. I then asked why those customers were not wearing one and the employees said, "we didn't notice." Once I pointed them out, they were still not asked to put a face covering on. This was very upsetting and I would never shop at what appears to be a racist establishment. read more
