I drive frequently to Phoenix to see family from California and this time on my return I said I'm definitely stopping. If you are exiting the 10 freeway at Morongo Valley Road which I think is the exit going west, that traffic circle to get to all the restaurants, etc. including Hadley's is a little treacherous so be patient Once you turn right, you can just pull right into their parking lot. It's a beautiful store that also has a café/ice cream. You will go in to get your shake and enter the ice cream shake line. It's stanchion off. There's a separate café line for people that I want to order food I ordered a large date shake. It doesn't come with whipped cream and it's already premade fresh out of a machine. The male order to take her/manager was super friendly and very thankful I stopped by after I mentioned I hadn't been here in a while. It's very genuine. But as I was walking away from the counter with my seven dollar shake, which was well worth it I heard somebody order a chocolate date shake. I didn't even know that was an option. I'm not even sure I saw it on the menu, but I think I would try that next time. The date shake was creamy and sweet. You can definitely taste and see the dates inside the mix. And then went into the store and picked up some chocolate covered dates as well as some fresh organic lines. I actually found the price is overall very reasonable especially for an off-road/touristy type of a place. Plenty of parking out front. The cashiers are super friendly. The location was very clean. I honestly would stop on the way back. They had tons of gifts, fresh fruits, and vegetables, snacks water sandwiches probably everything that you would want on a roadside visit. And it's easy access back onto the 10 W.

Hadley's is esteemed in the Inland Empire for its regular and vegan date shakes. I bought a couple of vegan shakes for my Mom and I during this trip. I swear the quality of the vegan shakes are just as good or better than the traditional shakes. I'm never disappointed! Once we got our shakes we took a trip around the grocery store side of the property. The store is farmer-chic with a modern look. Popcorn is available for sale on the way out, perfect for a rainy day. There's all sorts of groceries here, meats, specialty bakery items, wine, etc. if you're looking for souvenirs, they have them too! Service is always solid, the staff are professional and quick. I've never had an issue here. Hadley's gets a massive recommendation from me!

The BBQ is delicious and definitely worth it, even though the lines can get long on busy days. the apple cider is honestly the best I've had anywhere so fresh and flavorful. & ohhhh the house made pies are a must at every visit! They always have something going on throughout the month. Gospel worship's, festivals, classes Sip & paint, production tours and much more. The live music adds such a fun, relaxed vibe while enjoying a meal. I never leave without making a visit to the shop where they sell, unique items, souvenirs, organic jams and honey! Riley's is a place I look forward to coming back to especially in the fall. If I lived closer I'd be here much more often! Definitely check this place out, especially if you have family with kids, ours loves the little seedling ranch!

The staff informed us that depending on what apples we want to pick, we would need to head to different parts of the farm and the price would vary. We went towards the pink ladies because I'm a huge fan. We got 2 bags and began slowly twisting the apples off the trees. Our son had a great time that he quickly filled up 2 bags and we ended up spending about $30 on all the apples. We saw they still had some pumpkins, a field for chestnuts, and fields for other types of apples. We may be back to pick other fruits when they are in season. We decided to take a break and there were a couple of stalls to purchase merchandise, snacks, and food. We tried some fresh kettle corn which was hot and popped to perfection. There was so much to see and do at the farm, such as corn maze, petting zoo, and being able to pick a bucket of apples to press your own cider! We lined up at the farm kitchen for lunch for some bbq. While waiting for 45 minutes, I could see them grilling the meats and it looked delicious. I ordered tri-tip sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, some ribs, apple slaw, and some cowboy beans. They gave us the bbq sauce on the side to put as much as we want on the meats. The meats were salty, which was disappointing, and the tri-tip was slightly tough. The ribs weren't fall of the bones, but perhaps I was expecting too much. After putting the bbq sauce on the meats, it did balance out the saltiness. The cowboy beans were ok and the apple slaw was my favorite. It had a good balance of sweet from the apples they grow and the vinegar taste that was mixed in with the other ingredients. Before we left the farm, I had to buy a small bottle of cold apple cider and a sugar free apple pie. The apple cider was definitely refreshing on a hot day and it wasn't too sweet! We arrived shortly after the farm opened up on a Saturday and was able to find a spot in the parking lot that was almost full. I read that the parking lots open up about an hour before the farm is open, so my advice is to get there early. Otherwise, you'll probably get directed to another parking lot and require some walking. The farm was clean and all the staff we interacted with were friendly.

The entire place is set up like colonial America, and the attention to detail is incredible. All of the staff stay fully in character the entire time, and their costumes are beautifully made and very detailed. It really adds to the whole experience. The farm itself isn't your typical farm,it's more of a historical village with different stations set up to demonstrate things like candle making, crocheting from that time period, how the judicial system worked, and even the types of games people used to play. One of the highlights was the Revolutionary War reenactment at the end, where the kids actually got to participate as soldiers. It was such a cool experience and also really educational at the same time. I went as part of a school group, but you could definitely visit on your own and still have a great time. The food was good, but the baked goods were the real standout -- fresh breads, pies, cookies, homemade ice cream, shakes... everything tasted amazing. I also liked that you can order ahead online and just pick up when you get there. The staff were incredibly patient and kind with the kids, even when they got a little impatient, which I really appreciated. Overall, it felt like being transported back in time, and I would absolutely love to come back again.

We appreciate that parking is free and there is no admission to walk the farm. Definitely check out Riley's Farm website where you can get all the details and see their calendar for events, though. Schools, parents, and individuals can book field trips and various fun educational activities of all sorts. Our personal favorite has been the "Old Joe Homestead Tour" (which is $25/person and lasts about 2 hours). Always a great time at Riley's Farm.

Our group of 9 explored the different areas at the Sourdough and Tea Festivals and enjoyed all the different samples, food, drinks, and live music. There were lots of fresh pastries, bread, and hot foods for purchase. Get there early to get the best selection, because the hordes of hungry folks start coming in after 1:00pm in the afternoon and then there are long lines for everything. We tried the Fig and Goat Cheese Pizza which was really good. We both agreed that we'd add mozzarella cheese next time. It is very good as is, but we just think some melty mozz could only make it more delicious. The Margherita Pizza was just meh. It was made the traditional way with tomato sauce as the base with dollops of melted fresh mozzarella and whole basil leaves wilted on top. I prefer the one with slices of tomato on top of a base of marinara and melty, ooey, gooey shredded mozzarella cheese. Nevermind all that, because the standout on both pizzas was the crust. I was entranced while eating this pizza and discovering the delicious, wood-fired crispy crust and fluffy, pillowy end pieces with seasonings and herbs lightly adding flavor to each piece. You won't understand until you try it for yourself, and then you'll say an enthusiastic "ohhh!" You can thank me later. The chicken pot pie was really delicious. The soup was so warm and comforting. It was flavorful and had lots of chicken and veggies in it. So sorry I forgot to take pics of what I ate cuz I was so hungry! FYI: The pot pie was supposed to come in a special cast iron skillet that you can take home, but I guess it was so popular, because they ran out and began serving it in a sourdough bread bowl. Sad that I missed out on the skillet but I'll try and get one next year. The Matcha Room has the very best drinks, according to my son who sucked down 2 strawberry matcha lattes. Sadly I wasn't able to try any of the matcha drinks because I'm lactose and they only had whole milk. I hope they decide to add a milk substitute option in the future. Maybe if enough people start asking/requesting for it they will. I did get some desserts to try from The Matcha Room. The Matcha Tiramisu and the Biscoff Matcha Cupcake. Tiramisu had no flavor of matcha and was pretty bland; not sweet at all. The cupcake was very sweet and I liked it more than the tiramisu. The chocolate cake was slightly dry and the frosting was very rich but very tasty. The portion of Biscoff cookie on top for decoration was soft and soggy so I didn't eat that. I'll probably pass on the desserts next time. Why I only gave 4 stars is because the area is not very handicap accessible due to the gravel roads and wood chip areas of the farm, which I knew about prior to going and so I'm not deducting a star for that. But mainly due to the small building where they hold the tea and sourdough samples portion of the festival (which is also the store/bakery). The area is not large/wide enough to stay on my small, lightweight mobility scooter to peruse, shop, and taste the products presented, because the lines are set up to zig-zag back and forth and the scooter is just not made for navigating tight spaces. It was very full and very crowded with people on this Saturday afternoon's Tea Festival. There was one very kind woman who saw me waiting for one of the serve yourself teas and she offered to fill my cup for me. Most people wouldn't move out of the way, acknowledge me, or even be courteous to me. I felt very defeated and decided to stay in the outer perimeters of the room, but fortunately I had family with me that stood in the lines to get me the samples that I was unable to access. Another issue was that the cash register for purchasing any of the teas/sourdough/goods was down a short flight of stairs, but fortunately at the opposite end was a ramp. The ramp turned out to be useless to me, because the line went only one way and that would have required me to launch me and my scooter down the stairs. I did try using the ramp to go downstairs and get in the line, but with the two lines of shoppers waiting to cash out along with the multiple glass product display stands, there was no room to turn myself around to face the same direction the line was going in. For the next festivals, I'll rent a heavy duty mobility scooter with large wheels to easily maneuver through those hills and rocky roads. Then, I'd park that big contraption somewhere and pull out my small, lightweight walker to get into the smaller rooms and tight spaces. Hopefully these changes will allow me to have a much more enjoyable time.

The $45 per person covers entry, in addition to one apple cider can (a pretty large one), an apple treat (we got apple pie made at a local bakery), and a bag of apples. We got there about half an hour before opening and were one of the first ones there, which was helpful when choosing/picking apples as later on the farm got busier. The apples were a fair size--lots of damaged ones but I'm sure that means they don't use any pesticides or anything. The farm also had two cute and friendly kitties that came up to us! Overall, I would recommend this farm for a nice little getaway from LA city life. I would recommend booking a reservation and arriving early, as parking can get packed and the farm does get pretty busy.
