Model behavior Smoothie
Christa A.

Beautiful cafe! I love what the owners have done with the location. So tastefully decorated with lots of comfortable inviting seating. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I loved my model behavior smoothie. You must stop by here if you're in Red Hook

They tell you to call them when you are parked outside and they will bring you the food. This time I did as instructed. When you call them, the Noise level is so loud that you actually have to yell as loud as you can - just to hear yourself! Seriously unpleasant! I let them know that I am right outside the window. Then I waited patiently. Got involved with my phone. No problem. They left my order sitting on the counter inside getting cold and they forgot about it! I could have sat patiently for another half hour, without them realizing. Eventually, I realized that there is something wrong so I called again. The young lady brought it out, acknowledged that she forgot about it and apologized. That's appropriate. It seems that curbside pickup is too complicated for them to manage or the team is overwhelmed. Could I suggest a systems improvement? Maybe a yellow post It tag for curbside pickup to distinguish it from inside pickup? Whatever they need to make it work? Surely, they can do better! Helpful?

The staff was great, Friendly and just the right amount of attentive. And best of all their bathroom was so much bigger than the Kingston location. In Kingston my shoulder touch the walls. If you're in Red Hook try the Ramen and definitely check out the specials board.

The quesadilla was great as well and came with a side of guac, sour cream, pico, and rice and beans. They also have hot sauces you can take too that we loved--the habanero was our favorite, then Chipotle, and then the jalapeno and it added so much to the food. I'd also recommend trying their habanero cucumbers too, so fresh. Great spot for lunch, there is also some outdoor picnic tables across the street as well.

Even things that at most places taste generic, at bubby's it's all full of flavor with that distinct bubby's taste- from the salsa, the beans, the cheese, the guacamole, even the salad dressing. I have even traveled to Mexico but nothing beats bubby's. I can't imagine anyone giving them anything that's not 5 stars. To express how much I love the food, it tastes like I'm in heaven and my death row meal would be the black bean quesadilla with the side salad. Got the horchata and it was amazing! They should add it to the menu more often.

Menu had lots of variety and the dessert specials were to die for. Everything was delicious - highly recommend the calamari appetizer and the complimentary bread was fantastic. Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

We had the squash bread with apple jam and the bone marrow + steak tartare as starters. Both were so good, especially the steak tartare that just tasted so clean and fresh, pairing nicely with the richness of the bone marrow. It came with these little potato slices that were scooped out to provide a perfect vehicle for the marrow/tartare. My partner had the carrot tart tartin, which he loved, and my scallops with morel mushrooms were perfectly cooked, with the hazelnuts providing such a nice texture. He enjoyed his phony negroni (they also had other NA options, including other mocktails, an NA beer, and an NA Riesling) and I really liked my Good Shepherd cocktail, their unique take on a dirty martini. We were too full for dessert, unfortunately. The service was great - attentive and friendly, but it felt like we were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed, even though the place was busy. It is definitely on the pricier side and I would recommend reservations as the place was pretty full, but I would absolutely recommend this spot for a delicious, quality meal in Rhinebeck!

All delish! Bar decor is chic and stylish. Not too noisy on a Sunday night. Small place with limited seating. Nice bar. Great ambiance. Service was perfect. Sign was tiny. At a nearby table, we saw a Absinthe fountain(!?), which looked fascinating! On my agenda... Helpful?

Have you ever had Indian food so bland that an english muffin might be considered spicy? Welcome to the Red Hook Curry house. It has all the potential, but delivered with "Meh." The best part of the meal was the garlic nan. I'm a vindaloo kind of guy. I expect it to be spicy. I was woefully underwhelmed. I took home the leftovers and fixed it. Granted, the lamb was nice and tender, and the rice was well cooked. But the overall feeling was, "whatever". My wife had a vegetarian dish with chickpeas, again, lacking in any spice. She brought it home and added some flavors. This was my third visit to the Red Hook Curry House, and probably my last. The place felt closed already. I imagine they do a decent take out business, because I certainly don't want to sit in there again. And what was with the bright green sauce for the papadam?! That food color went out in the 50's!
