Delicious! Absolutely great Mexican food for a great price. We stopped in for lunch and placed our order easily at the counter. The burrito was fantastic, so flavorful and tasty. The quesadilla was great as well and came with a side of guac, sour cream, pico, and rice and beans. They also have hot sauces you can take too that we loved--the habanero was our favorite, then Chipotle, and then the jalapeno and it added so much to the food. I'd also recommend trying their habanero cucumbers too, so fresh. Great spot for lunch, there is also some outdoor picnic tables across the street as well. read more

There is just no place like Bubby's!! All of their food has a certain flavor and taste to it that I just can't find ANYWHERE else. Even things that at most places taste generic, at bubby's it's all full of flavor with that distinct bubby's taste- from the salsa, the beans, the cheese, the guacamole, even the salad dressing. I have even traveled to Mexico but nothing beats bubby's. I can't imagine anyone giving them anything that's not 5 stars. To express how much I love the food, it tastes like I'm in heaven and my death row meal would be the black bean quesadilla with the side salad. Got the horchata and it was amazing! I used to go to this restaurant every weekend when I went to Bard College 8 years ago. The Caribbean Chicken they used to serve (no longer on the menu) , is among one of the best things I have ever tasted in my entire life. I think about it all the time. The rice. The beans. The pickled cabbage. The sweet, braised meat that falls so easily and gently off of the bone. Something about it generates such radiant yet incomprehensible nostalgia for me. It would be my Death Row meal. This is a recipe that should be carried on for generations. I will cherish my memories of those meals forever, and it breaks me to think that the memories of this dish may die with me. I would make many sacrifices to learn this recipe, or even just to taste it one more time. I no longer live in the Hudson Valley, but if someone would be so kind to let me know who I could contact to learn the origins of this dish and it's components, I'd really like that. read more

And Unique is what we got! I was only in the mood for something light. So it was a Chicken Tortilla soup for me. It was more filling that I would have expected! Sooo good, I ate up every bite. This seems to be a food truck that made the jump to a brick and mortar. It's a funky rustic place. There was no aircon the day we stopped in. Not sure if that was an anomaly or if it was just how they roll in the older buildings that make up all these little hamlets in upstate New York. If too much heat might be an issue for you, just give them a call and see if this was a rare occasion. My daughter loved her burrito and my wife really enjoyed the Jerked Chicken plate. They had Kombucha on hand, but the prices were just a little too steep for my budget on that day. The pricing overall was ok. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The worker had a wig on for Halloween and a long red hair from the wig ended up sticking out of my food. I couldn't continue to eat any of the food after noticing this. I called the restaurant to try to resolve the issue but they closed for the day. I'm grossed out. Always a bummer to be excited for a food and have hair end up in it. My husband and I just moved into town and this was the first food stop we made! It was highly recommend by the locals. Let me tell you, they didn't disappoint! My husband and I shared the pork and pineapple taco plate and my mom got the vegetarian burrito bowl. I subbed plain rice for coconut rice. OMG. The coconut rice mixed in was delicious. We got a chicken tomatillo taco, a chorizo and cheese taco, a pork taco plate, a lime soda, an iced chai, and a cupcake for dessert (it was carrot cake, I'm a sucker.). I'm pretty sure my husband got a burrito, but I can't remember which kind - I remember he liked the salad that came with! The lime soda was a delight! So refreshing and delicious. I like my chai really spicy, and this wasn't, but it was still pretty good. The individual tacos were good, the pork plate was phenomenal. The grilled pineapple really set it off, and you got 5 tortillas with the plate - I ate it all the cupcake wasn't too bad either!! But seriously, are there bad cupcakes? Their Cauliflower curry is the bomb! I follow the keto way of eating and I ask for no rice, which they substitute for a side salad! It's A LOT of food! Wow! The lunch I had today was so good. The place has a nice vibe. They are vegan friendly and the burritos are really, really good... and exceptionally fresh tasting. The side salad that came with my burrito was a pleasant surprise as well. Loved that balsamic/Tamari dressing. How will I ever eat another burrito at Chipotle again? This place just ruined that for me. And the burritos seem to taste even better than the ones I've had at their shack down the road (and those are crazy good too.) Waited an hour for a single burrito from the time i placed my order to the time I received it. Very poor organization and communication between front of house and back of house. When I placed my order I was told 20 minutes. I get there, they couldn't find the order, and I ended up waiting another 40 minutes while I watch 20 orders go out. My order had sat there for at least 25 minutes and nobody called out the name for the order. I got home to eat and it was a crumbly mess with both ends of it wide open.
