We had eaten here once before, and liked it. I was coming out of Walmart, saw the place, and remembered how good it was. It was spotless inside, and everybody was friendly. I like the large Mexican/Asian fusion menu. There is something on it for everybody. I started with the Malay curry wontons. Dumplings in a red curry sauce. They were delicious! They were tender, the generous filling was delicious, and they had just a little bit of a gentle heat to them. I could feel my forehead sweat just a little bit. I liked them. For my main course, , I had the Asian rice bowl with teriyaki beef. I chose the seasoned rice, and it came topped with cabbage, carrot, cucumber, bean sprouts, broccoli, bokchoy, cilantro, and egg. I had mine with Teriyaki Sauce. The bowl was huge, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and had a good flavor, the veggies, and the rice were done just right, and I like the addition of the egg. Everything played very well together. It was rich, but not overly so. There was a lot of food, and I took some of the dumplings and the rice bowl home for later. I had a soda, but they also offer Boba tea, beer, even soju, among other things.. The price was very reasonable, especially for the fact that I got two meals out of it. I will be back. Came here for dinner based on yelp search making it number 1 in Kingston. This is a fast food chain with tasty sounding items on their menu. Order from a walk up counter the. Your number is called to pick up the food. It is also not well lit for the evening. I ordered the lotus bun with pork belly and the chicken pad Thai. The pork belly comes in three buns. One of the pork belly was good, the other two were over cooked. However l, all three were completely covered with too much peanut and all had too much Hoisen sauce. Next, the chicken pad Thai was the worst pad Thai I ever had. The chicken was cut into little cubes which I imagine they use across many different items on the menu. The taste missed by a long shot and taste like too much sesame sauce with garlic. Even the noodle was more like a pasta. I have no idea how this came up as number one. We ordered: Strawberry milk boba tea: pretty good, I usually get it with a coconut milk I think it was made with a cream or something it tasted a bit different but I enjoyed it! Korean beef and kimchi nachos? That's just Crazy! Well... that is the idea. I'm not a fan of "This meets that meets another thing" types of write-ups - and I'll hate myself in the morning for doing this - but this place feels like the best of Chipotle meets PF Changs meets Corelife. Even better, it's a local business I can directly patronize! I wish I had been a little less crazy with my first order there, a more traditional set of grilled chicken soft tacos. I enjoyed them, but a couple of nits: (1) The pico comes out in a little refrigerated plastic container; let it warm up for better taste and contrast on the food, and (2) The soft tortillas stick together, and the middle one opened up as I tried to pick up the first one. Not a problem, I grabbed a fork and ate it "deconstructed" style. The other taco ingredients were fairly basic, but the grilled chicken was very good. The space is large and comfortable, especially that couch in the center where I could relax while waiting for my order to be ready. I see myself "kickin' up the crazy" in some future visits to either this one and/or the one in New Paltz. I hope they have those nachos on the menu again. read more

The service is usually pretty fast, though the style is more like a fast food restaurant where your food is given to you at the counter. The interior isn't really anything special, but it does the job for the restaurant. My only complaint comes from the fact that I had visited and eaten at this establishment pre-Covid and I personally feel like the food quality has gone down slightly. Yummy I really enjoy the food here even though the options can be overwhelming! Obviously not great location or atmosphere (kind of a fast foodish) but definitely would recommend trying! Ordered the yellow curry bowl with Cantonese noodles and grilled chicken.. sooo yummy! Perfect amount of spice and flavor, and ingredients all tasted super fresh. Also order the fried chicken lotus buns- AMAZING! Some of the best I've had. We ordered the veggie spring rolls app which came with 3 large rolls, they were pretty standard. I also had a lavender milk bubble tea that I loved! I've ordered a mango milk tea here once before that I didn't think was properly mixed (was chalky and strange tasting) but this one did the trick.. delish. Very very reasonable pricing for something different. Lots of tofu options for vegetarians and also some cool beef/lamb options, too. This place was an absolute shocker. We were driving upstate, long weekend away to get out of the city, it'd been a bit of a hectic day and by 5pm we hadn't eaten! While we were picking up supplies elsewhere we made a big order here because....well because it was right there and because it's called crazy bowlz! And somehow....it was all delicious? A Mexican/asian to go place that has so many options? Outdid itself completely. We ordered two bubble teas, spring rolls, shrimp tempura, pork belly bao, the flamin wontons and for main I got a bulgogi rice bowl with a pork chop added on and my gf got a Mexican style rice bowl. I could go into detail for each and every piece of food but just to be general for a moment, it was all spot on and the prices are super good. The veggies were all crisp and fresh, the meat was fatty where it should have been fatty and wasn't dry at all, the bao buns were pillowy, the tempura were crunchy, the wontons had a lovely level of spice. I didn't like it that much. It's the type of place that you might find at a mall's food court. Pad Thai was too sweet. I got it with shrimp. Shrimp was the only part of the dish I enjoyed. My mom got the burrito with mango salsa and tofu. Tasteless. The tofu part wasn't bad though! My dad got the a large soup with Korean beef and lo mein noodles. He said he liked it. He also said the broth was very hearty and beefy. I wasn't into it when I tried it though. I'm not a huge beef soup kinda person.. I wouldn't go again. Although not expensive, I still think they charge too much for what you're getting. For those 3 dishes, plus a soda, it came to $34. This isn't normally the type of place I would review, mainly because it's a straightforward, quasi fast food place, except that they had such great customer service, I've gotta tell you about it. I ordered online as I only had a quick break for lunch. I selected an Asian curry bowl with tofu, and made extra sure to note "No Egg" since there was a listed egg included in the bowl and I am vegan. They tried calling me right after I placed my order but I couldn't pick up; when I got there to pick up my order the attendant asked if I was vegan and I said yes, and she let me know they had recently changed their curry sauces which all contain a bit of cream now. She said she suspected I was vegan because of my no egg request, so she had prepared my bowl and left the sauce off til I got there. I was super thankful and got a teriyaki sauce instead, which was vegan. That was so thoughtful, and I was really happy knowing they had done right by me to check. Overall, I was getting take out so didn't have a full dining experience but the food was completely adequate for what it was - these types of bowls are what I make for myself at home so I don't usually get them when I go out to eat, but it was great to have a quick vegan option on the go for me in this chain shopping district of Kingston. read more

We were so pleasantly surprised by this place! We love asian cuisine, but don't love table service / quick service places. We were hesitant to try Crazy Bowls because it looks like a chain, and has the quick service "feel" but we were so intrigued by the menu (and the excellent Yelp rating), so we gave it a try and we are SO glad that we did!! The menu has a lot of options, but we were instantly drawn to the stir noodle bowls and the Korean Beef Nachos. The staff was happy to let us taste the three curry options (red-mild, yellow-medium, green-spicy), all of which were very good! We decided on the nachos and three bowls: Cantonese noodle fusion bowl with tofu, Cantonese noodle curry bowl (yellow and green) with chicken, and lo mein noodle curry bowl (green) with pork belly. We were blown away!! The nachos were fantastic!! The portion was generous, with plenty of toppings for the quantity of chips. The flavors melded together perfectly. All of our bowls were really delicious. The servings were large, the ingredients super fresh, and it tasted great. It sits in Wal-Mart's parking lot and at first glance seems like a typical chain restaurant but it's actually a family-owned local business and the food is great. Interior is super clean and pleasant. Extremely reasonably priced. You choose a protein then choose the type of bowl you want to pair it with; rice or noodles- various flavors and types of rice or noodles. We ordered the Korean Bulgogi with white rice and teriyaki flavor as well as the Duck with white rice and green curry. Both highly recommended. I can eat spicy but I find most places mild.
