Stopped by here after a trip to Rhinebeck. One of the best pizzas I've ever had! The homemade mozzarella and roasted tomato sauce is divine. Their thin crust is amazing. The owner gave us some fresh mozz to try while waiting for our pies. Super friendly staff, the service was so quick too. Can't wait to come back when in the area!

I'm a pizza connoisseur and Lucoli's is the best pizza I ever tasted. And their artisan mozzarella is beyond delicious. A national treasure.

    What a beauty!

This is not your everyday ordinary pizza joint. The owner is a pizza purest. He is very proud of his place and has clearly put a lot of care into producing an authentic product. He is very friendly and enjoyed talking about what goes in to his pizza. The ovens at Lucoli are wood fired which were crafted by the owner and they are beautiful. While chatting with him he explained the science behind them. He has also been contracted to build wood fired ovens for other businesses. His approach to sauce is unique as well. He doesn't believe in using olive oil to prepare it. He roasts the tomatoes and aromatics in the oven and adds olive oil after the fact. This produces a very flavorful and pure sauce which works quite well. The final and probably most impressive draw here is that they make homemade mozzarella. We were fortunate enough to try it right as it came out. It really is delicious. Light and flavorful. A perfect amount of salt. My party ordered a pizza with half pepperoni and half cheese. Char was noticeable on the crust and the pizza in general was soft but still crispy. The pepperoni was unremarkable. I think the sausage might be the way to go in the future. The best pizza I have ever had? Not really but the incredibly pure ingredients and wood fired oven make this a must pizza stop.

I'm a pizza guy. Been making and eating pizza my whole life, like 4 days a week pizza guy. Have eaten pizza all over the USA, Europe, Latin America...I love pizza. Lucoli in Red Hook, NY is some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. Located about 8 mikes north Rheinback, NY in Dutchess county, about 90 miles north of Manhattan is incredible. I had the large Neapolitan Pie, so tasty. Fire-roasted tomato sauce which is incredibly flavorful, local extra virgin olive oil and fresh mozzarella make this pizza insanely delicious! Did I mention the perfectly charred and crisp crust and undercarriage...amazing. Looking forward to coming back to the area...to eat more Lucoli's

Don't blink! You'll miss this hidden gem in Red Hook, NY. This is the only thing that I would hold against Lucoli is their lack of visibility. Anybody familiar with the Hudson Valley food scene knows the importance of local, fresh, artisanship, and accessibility. Chef gets his produce local. The cheese, fire roasted tomato sauce, and dough is made fresh daily. Chef has designed and built the special ovens that cook the pizza and lucoli; artisanship ;-). While we were dining, chef was there to not only check on us, but share some of his experiences. We went on an off time so I am not promising you'll have the exact experience we had, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did. The pie itself was incredible and I really think it was the sauce that did it for me. It was incredibly tasty and the color was an orange red most likely from the variety of tomatoes and the fire roasting. I also tried the Red Lentil soup (shows the Middle Eastern, Turkish I believe, heritage of the Chef) and it was very flavorful. Make sure you check this place out and double check days open/closed. It would be a double miss if you actually found the place and they were closed!

The pizza at Lucoli is exceptional, you will not find anything like it in all of New York. The owner uses quality ingredients, from the tomato sauce and mozzarella, to the pesto. The first time I ordered a traditional margarita and he threw on fried eggplant and pesto on a few slices for me to try and it was the best thing I've had. I live over an hour away but I return to lucoli whenever I can to have it.

Lucoli pizza is a small pizza place tucked in Red Hook. The brick oven pizza is delicious and the service is quick.

If you could marry pizza, I'd invite you people to the wedding. If I could also marry the sausage--like fennel for days!!!--I'd elope.

Our mixed greens salad was excellent. We ordered a Margherita pizza with half a side of sausage. It was about the right amount for myself and my daughter to share. It was pretty good, thin crust, good dough. Could have had bit more char on the crust and base to help hold everything together as it was a bit too wet. I saw a reviewer here say it was as good or better than new haven pizza but having grown up in the next town over from new haven, I will say that this is better than average pizza but not really close to new haven-level. Go here if you are in the mood for pizza and are nearby.

The pizzeria is nestled at the end of a cobblestone path with many small shops around it. It also has outdoor sitting. We were seated immediately and we were offered the best crusted bread with some oil to deep. The kids and my mom wanted more! We ordered the Mediterranean salad ($17) the Cesar ($17) and three margaritas (26). It was 5 of us and we devoured the salads. They were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The pizzas were probably one of the best I had! The sauce was sweet, the cheese was a combination of fresh and grated mozzarella which I liked that since it covered the whole pie. The dough was the highlight of the pizza. Crusty and chewy at the same time!!
