BBQ beef????? This is frozen supermarket meat balls!!!!!

Dog food! The BBQ appetizer was actually supermarket frozen meatballs. Sad.... sick. The Curry Chicken was dry chicken breast, not simmered. Horrible!!!! How is this place in business??????

I'm not usually one to write a negative review, but I was rather unimpressed...probably won't go back. The food wasn't bad, just a bit lackluster for what I would expect from good Indian food. My Tandoori chicken looked delicious, but the flavor was quite mild...on point, but mild. Perhaps it was the large pieces with not enough time to marinate...more salt? Either way, if I paid 50% less I would have been very happy, but I was expecting better. Chai tea was also under spiced. Very milky with little chai flavor. The rice was actually quite nice! Mild cumin flavor and a few fried shallots, but not good enough to redeem the rest of the entree. On a last unfortunate note, the owner was not service oriented or kind. Vacuumed next to me while I drank my tea and would have nothing to do with cordial conversation...‍ Maybe I'll give Red Hook Curry House another chance one of these days, but it probably won't be soon!

Nice salad presentation but kebab very dried out by overcooking

Excellent flavor but why do they need to overcook the proteins to this extent? I was very much looking forward to the kebabs and lobster curry and the curry itself was delicious, but the kebabs and lobster were so extremely overcooked that it wasn't possible to really identify their flavors at all. The kebabs were very very dried out, needing a lot of condiments to get them down, and the lobster was very over cooked with no flavor and a dry/chewy texture. The kebabs are small and need only a brief cooking and lobster meat cooks very rapidly and should only be added for a minute or two at the end before taking it off the heat. I will stick with chicken dishes going forward which this restaurant seems better able to cook properly (I have had the chicken korma prior which was my only other experience at this restaurant and it was very good). I definitely appreciate having this restaurant in town, but technique needs a little work.

    Navratan korma and poori bread!

The food is truly innovative; this isn't your typical Indian restaurant. Every dish challenges your taste buds in the best way possible, with layers of flavor and thoughtful combinations that keep you excited for the next bite. We recently enjoyed a cocktail infused with saffron--so unique and beautifully balanced. It paired perfectly with our dishes: the jumbo prawn (a must-try!) and the duck, which my husband loved. The cocktail program here is incredibly imaginative and truly elevates the whole experience. The staff is consistently engaging and attentive, making each visit feel personal and memorable. As Woodstock residents, we're so happy to see Nirvana becoming a real staple in the community. Tucked away at the corner of Deming St and Mill Hill Rd in Woodstock, NY, Nirvana is exactly what the name promises- it's a calm, sensory bliss, has warm lighting and a slight Indian spice in the air. Then there's the food. The tandoori shrimp came out sizzling hot with perfect charred edges, the garlic naan was tasty but it was the truffle naan that brought the fire. The real showstopper was my cardamom+saffron+ passion fruit cocktail full of tropical attitude. Service was great. I mean- they move like they're reading your mind: our plates were cleared, drinks refreshed, all before we even asked. Listen, Woodstock may be known for its music, but Nirvana's got its own rhythm.

Our server was also very attentive as well. If you like goat cheese then the goat cheese stuff naan is not to be missed! So delicious as a side or a starter. I was surprised at the big bowl and very happy. Along with the soup, we ordered goat cheese naan. I think I prefer the garlic naan but it was still very good. We shared an order of KODI VEPPUDU. It's a specialty of the Andra Region. Boneless chicken dry cooked with Hyderabad sauce, a thick sauce of peanuts, ginger, garlic and red onion. This was so very good that I will definitely be back and have an entree all to myself for dinner. The waiter was attentive without hovering which I appreciate when catching up with a friend. The place is super clean and comfy especially if you get a seat on the padded couch. Since it was my birthday...I got the seat this time.

The interior is especially impressive--stylish, modern, and warmly lit with dim lighting that creates a relaxed, upscale dining atmosphere that's perfect for a date night or quiet dinner. That said, a couple small things knocked it just shy of five stars. The parking lot is a bit awkwardly shaped and not the easiest to navigate, and on a colder day the dining area felt a little drafty, which took away slightly from the otherwise cozy vibe. Overall, the food and ambiance absolutely make Tamarind worth visiting, and with just a few comfort tweaks, this would easily be a 5-star spot. Would definitely return.

Sure enough, I found Momo Garden. Being convenient to my itinerary, I invited a local friend to join me for a quick lunch (just momo's), and a chance to scope the rest of the menu. Their website and sign say open at noon on Saturdays, but they were already open when I arrived a few minutes before that. We were given hot tea after being seated. I don't know if you always get that (they have a chai on the menu), but because the restaurant was still warming up from the chilly morning, the tea was very welcome. Various other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Papadam and sauces were also brought to the table. The momo's come in 2 varieties, chicken and vegetable, and you can get them in several ways, including fried, steamed, and Jhol, which is the street-food style served in broth. These were delicious, even better with the dipping sauce. The vegetable ones might fall apart a little bit, so you may want to use a spoon instead of a fork, to be sure you get every bit of the deliciousness. This is a great addition to the area. The rest of the menu will just have to wait until my next visit.
