We had an appointment scheduled for an in-home consultation at 11am, and once they were 5 minutes late I called the office to double check that they were on the way. Consultation was awesome... We met the owner, Paul, and he was pleasant and upfront with the pricing and showed us our different options. The blinds were delivered about 4 weeks afternit was ordered, and setting the appointment for installation was a breeze. They lost 2 points because at our first scheduled appointment, we waited for an hour and no one showed up, then got a late call, 2 hrs after, from Ignacio, that they were running behind. He said some excuse that they were finishing up another installation in East Garrison but this woulda have been easily remedied by a simple phone call. So, i set up another appointment... this time, we get a call from our son that Ignacio just shows up 2 -1/2 hours early and his excuse was his phone was dead so he "decided" to pop up. I explained to him that i specifically organized my time at work so i can be home by our appt time since my husband want one of us to be there for the installation. That was an important part. Ignacio didn't seem to get it and insisted that he's done this work for a long time. The thing they don't seem to get is, when u have an appointment, you keep it, otherwise u call! We didn't get a call from the owner after the installation to check on how things went. The blinds look great, but i'm also all about the overall experience and service. Out of at least 8 estimates, Blinds 4 Design was the company I chose for plantation shutters. I read their reviews which were all great. Paul, the owner, was great and came prepared with samples. The installers really knew what they were doing and only took 1.5 hrs to install shutters on 9 windows. It takes a good 4-6 weeks from the day you order your shutters to arrive. Lifetime warranty which is excellent! The ONLY minor complaint I have is a couple of the frames were like 1/4 inch off the ledge. I pay attention to those details (because of my ocd. It's been about 5 months since we had our window coverings installed. My husband and I are very happy with the end result. This is not to say this process was without problems. There were a few. But I appreciated that Paul totally took responsibilty and in some instances notified there was problem before I knew there was one. I like that... A LOT. This was a very big investment for us. We bought a new house and it has so many dang windows. What I liked about working with Paul (and Hugo) is that he was able to make recommendations on what kind of window covering would work best in certain rooms. I went in thinking we wanted plantation shutters everywhere. I love the way they look, but some of the windows have amazing views and shutters would have blocked them or been to hard to open. So although we went with plantation shutters on 90% of our windows, we also installed wireless Silhouettes shades and BEAUTIFUL, and I mean beautiful customer blackout drapes. I love the fact that the seams of the drapes all match!!! Every time I look at the drapes in our bedroom, I smile. My husband laughs because he spent so much money on bigger ticket items and the drapes are what "spark joy". Again, we more than a few issues, but Paul and Amanda were great to work with and totally took care of us. Would I recommend them? Yes, I would, and I have. Our order was placed and was supposed to arrive in full in OCTOBER. We received some of the blinds at the end of November and just last week (2/27) we finally got our last set of blinds. It was a constant "they will be in next week"...and then months went by. I got one phone call to tell me the blinds were in, the other 4 times, I had to follow up with the order myself. While calling, there were numerous times I would be put on hold for over 15 minutes until I finally hung up/called back or they promised a phone call within a few minutes and never received one and I had to follow up. We were missing one set of blinds and the blame was put on us that we never ordered them, yet it was on the invoice they gave us (they got it ordered fast once we showed them that). There was constant rescheduling, late arrivals (over an hour) for install (with no phone call), and terrible customer service from the office or anyone I would speak to. The only positive I can give is the employees that did the installation were very respectful and did a great install. read more

We just moved into our new home in East Garrison, and we received a flyer from Blinds 4 Design on our door. We knew that it was time to start talking about window coverings because, let's be honest, the construction workers were probably tired of seeing us get dressed in the morning. So, we drove over to Salinas and met with Amanda, who welcomed us in to the showroom with a smile. Because of her expertise, we were able to hone in on what we wanted pretty quickly, and Amanda gave us a quote that was very reasonable. We prepared for our visit by measuring the windows that we wanted to cover, and it helped that Amanda is familiar with the models in East Garrison. When our shutters were installed a few weeks later they looked great, but we had chosen the larger frames and they ended up hanging over our window sills by about a half inch.. So that is something you should definitely consider when picking your frames. I brought this to their attention and they immediately wanted to make it right. They ordered me new frames that would give me the look I had wanted. I am so happy with how they look!
