Don't wast you time talking to these guys. Attempted to get a quote for a large residential remodel to replace all windows and several frenchdoors. Office staff were pleasant enough but continuously said Winnefred was "working on it and would be in touch". Despite making several follow up calls, we received nothing and used another local, very responsive dealer. Complete waste of time and delay in our project! read more

These are the nicest people! My son broke a single pane window on a rental house by kicking a ball through the window ‍. It was hard to find someone willing to cut a piece of single pane glass for a decent price, until we called Glassworks by design. When I picked up the glass a very nice man brought it to my car for me and explained what to use to adhere the glass to the frame. The office lady was extremely kind, there was also a man that helped us (the owner maybe?). This was an upbeat experience and I highly recommend them. They also sell Milgard windows, which are top of the line, and when I picked up the glass my mother decided to buy a new window for her house. read more

Now this is the way a business should be run! From the get-go it was a good experience. Starting with Cassandra answering the phone in a pleasant voice and providing knowledgable information. Every step of the process was professional and thoughtful. Winnifred & the Glasswork team is highly recommended! What nice people. read more

My shower glass is great and I can use my new shower now. This is a 5 star business by all accounts but the time it took to get it right took some time. 3 times to be exact. Once for a scratch and a imperfection in a corner and twice for fitting or alignment. The scratch and imperfection weren't there fault but was put in and set. The two alignment visits could of been avoided if there scheduling wasn't so tight... I think? Other than these small inconveniences this business is great. Perfect customer service in all ways. Very professional installers without any attitude even after they had to return a couple of times. They wanted it to be done right, the way you want it done. Last words...I'm happy. read more

We needed several windows replaced due to leakage and old age. We chose Winnifred because he was so generous with his time explaining things and offering us separate bids for replacing some or all of the windows. He was very professional, patient, and willing to answer any and all questions. He's a very good communicator. Everything post Covid seems higher in cost, so there was some sticker shock from the bid, but it seemed like his pricing was in line with the other bids we got. The fact that he is also a licensed contractor reassured us that he would not only be able to replace the windows but also be trained enough in general construction to be able to find the source of the leak and fix it. As a general contractor, he has connections in the trades and brought in a sheet metal worker who did a great job providing solutions and extra protections against the leaks. We feel pretty confident, but the true test will be this winter if we have strong storms with lots of rain. There was a problem at the end, but Winnifred did the right thing and fixed it, standing behind his work with integrity. Overall great customer service, communication, and quality workmanship. We would definitely recommend Winnifred and Glasswork by Design. read more

Called, guy said text him a picture of my sliding glass door. He quoted me $1000 for glass door replacement via text, I said I'm fine with that price. He texts back asking what brand the door is. I said I didn't know, he asked me to find out because if it's a certain door he can't replace it. I said I just moved into my home and I have no information on anything in the home here. He never replied to my last text. I was assuming he'd come here and find out what kind of door it is and then replace it. But I guess that responsibility lies on the customer. I found a different company that immediately said they'll come out to my home to inspect what kind of door it is before going forward. read more

Just got our sliding glass door installed by Glasswork By Design and we are a very happy customer. The door itself is very nice but more than anything the installer and stucco repair work was excellent! Great workmanship and very nice to work with. There was a small chip on door handle they were happy to replace the handle without any problems. Would highly recommend them! We are also planning on using them to install our shower doors. read more

I'm surprised to read a few of the other reviews and the lack of follow-up to estimates. We have had a really good experience with Glasswork by Design. Winifred came out to measure our two bathrooms and forwarded a quote right away. His team does clean work, if there is an issue, it's addressed right away. I would highly recommend. read more

Winnifred came on time and gave a free estimate. Now many window places are charging $75 for an estimate. He spent time explaining things about windows that I had no idea about. He gave great suggestions that I plan to do. They office gave an affordable estimate right away and even followed up with the phone call to see if I had any questions about the estimate. It's a very courteous and responsive office. read more

This is long due... I needed a window replaced due to vandalism. I've called around to several places and Glass by design was the only place that was affordable and not sky high. Made an appointment for them to come out, they took my window that needed to be replaced and I could've had it back within a few days, but there was a little delay to where I got it back within a week or so, overall. I appreciate the fair pricing. Will do business with them again. read more

Very nice, professional and fast. If there is a problem they will comeback quick and fix the issue.

Since my neighbor used Glasswork by Design I decided to give them a try. I'm very happy I did. Winnifred & company installed laminate Milgard windows in my bedroom. I bought the "Style Line Series." (The "Tuscany" Series is higher end and offers breakage replacement.) This is one of my few vendor experiences where everything happened as represented. The consultation was thorough; after deposit the manufacturer delivered on time; the installation fit my schedule, was completed on time, & well done; the exterior window frame painting matched my HOA specs. I wish I had used Glasswork by Design for my sliding patio door instead of Home Depot. I intend to have Winnifred eventually re-glaze the rest of my condo. read more

Due to the coronavirus installation was delayed. Once work began Waldo and the rest of the crew worked diligently installing eight 6' windows. They made sure any debris was picked up and kept the working area clean. They started on Monday and will be completed today Wednesday. I feel so confident in this company that I ordered blinds for these windows. More importantly this is a local small business here in Salinas. Thank you Glasswork By read more

Great experience with Glasswork By Design and Winnifred's whole team. Initially I had them replace the main picture window in my house which is double pane approximately 6'x'6 on the second level of the house therefore required scaffolds etc to get to it. Took the whole window frame out, disassembled the frame, put in replacement glass, reassembled the frame, and reinstalled the window and it looks great! Took five guys to get it done, but they were super professional, efficient, and kept the job site neat. Was so impressed with the first job, I had them come back and replace three other windows where the dual pane seal was failing and the windows were getting cloudy. They held the custom windows for me in their warehouse for a year since I postponed the install due to Covid and were super nice about it. I finally scheduled the install for this week and they came and did a great job on all three windows, including tracking down some hard to find replacement weather moulding which they replaced on several of the windows while they had the frames disassembled. Just a great experience overall, I have lots of windows in the house so I'm sure I'll be calling them again!!! read more

Had someone come to give a quote. They came over and took measurements, used my bathroom, and left. Texted me once for my info. Never heard back from them after that and it's been about a month. Did not respond to text or phone calls. I would've been satisfied to at least get a response saying they're not interested, but nothing. Not reliable. read more

Unbelievably poor customer service and bad attitude. Words will probably elude me, but let me try. This guy Winifred, who I assume is the owner, just doesn't want business. After multiple phone calls and no show appointments, he just disclosed on a call all of his employee problems to me (confidence builder) and his other limitations to justify blowing me off. Just incredible how little enthusiasm he has for his business! Jaw-dropping! Like he is doing me a favor to even talk to me. At every turn, he creates some barrier to doing the work. We are talking a big job, a whole house window replacement. He actually asked me to go out and measure my windows to give me a quote. Surreal. I'm not kidding. Go anywhere else if you're smart. I can only imagine how the job would go if I did hire him. read more

I guess I am the only exception to all these 5 star reviews. I called this company twice to come and look at my broken window and both times, the guy I spoke with gave a time frame when he will come to look at the job. Both times, no show, not even a phone call to let me know that he couldn't make it or he changed his mind and didn't want to do the job after all. He is probably a good glass installer as evidenced by all the reviews here, but I will never know. For that, no star. read more

Winifred and his team installed a glass shower for us 5 years ago. I wanted to see how it performed before writing a review... but neglected until now. We are very happy with the design and function of the shower and door. The door shifted a bit recently and Winifred quickly sent out a team to fix it. Definitely recommend his team! read more

I wish there where more stars to give! Great customer service, I literally called at 12:30pm...sent pictures of window, and by 4pm window was fixed. No issues at all, reasonable prices. $200 less than another local quote & they came from Salinas. I do not get on yelp often as you can see, except when a business is this good. I had to share my experience. Tip: call the office number, not owners cell as he is most likely busy fixing glass :-) read more

Glasswork By Design was recommended to us while we were remodeling our bathroom shower and I couldn't be happier with their quality, speed, and service. When we first met Glasswork By Design, Winnifred came to our house, showed us options for the door, and even had samples so that we could see the different thicknesses of glass. We were able to get a customized height for the glass and pick brackets and door handle types but we were offered options to customize way more than I ever thought. I once went to Home Depot to get a quote prior to meeting Glasswork and just the glass door alone at Home Depot was nearly the same price and that did not include installation. Glasswork had the door ready ahead of schedule and offered to install over the weekend too. Excellent work. Couldn't be happier with the experience. read more

These people are the best! Quick service and very knowledgeable. Price fair. Call em, you won't be disappointed.

This windows company did a great job installing our new windows we purchased through them. They were friendly, professional, efficient, and affordable. Their original estimate was exactly what we ended up paying once the job was finished, even though some additional work than what was originally planned was needed to finish a particular window. They did a really great job and I definitely recommend them! read more

Had someone come to give a quote. They came to our house and took measurements, we spent at least an hour with this guy. We never heard back, left texts and emails. I've called a couple times and each time I get a recording saying the mailbox is full and cannot accept messages. Excellent work, great ideas and design suggestions, but I cannot complete this review--still waiting for the drip strip that goes at the bottom of the glass door to make a water seal between the door and the shower curb. This is the second time I had work done by Glasswork by Design and I couldn't be happier. The first was replacement of a window broken by a goat. From first call to done work was three days and the repairman cleaned up all the broken glass which the goat had left scattered around on the porch and in the grass. The second job was replacing a sliding glass door glass broken by a lawn mower thrown rock. This took a little longer because the glass was special order but I was kept informed of every step of the process and when the glass came in, they were out the next day to install it. Again, a flawless installation and all cleaned up before they left. I have been impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of their office staff and their repairmen and I will be calling them again for any glass needs in the future and I recommend them without reservations to anyone looking for good hassle-free glasswork. read more

We contracted with Glasswork by Design to change out the windows and sliding glass doors at our house. I am super impressed with Glassworks by design. I thought I was in for a major remodel, but they saved me $$$ because they were able to replace the glass on a double pane window instead of replace the whole thing!
