It took a few appointment changes but finally was able to be scheduled. My condo needed some TLC and the screen door was hanging on by threads and mesh tape I had used until I had to wave the white flag of defeat and get a new screen for the patio door. Their website is easy and comprehensive. They came, took measurements, gave me an estimate and a few weeks later my new screen arrived. They haul the old one away as a part of the job. I was a very picky client with a 50-year-old sliding glass patio door that had probably never been serviced and was barely operable. The wheels were worn, the track was worn, and the header above the slider frame had settled over the years, making it difficult to remove and service the door. I called the Glider Guys and spoke with Grant. After providing me with an estimate and a detailed description of the proposed repair, Grant came out to do the work. He ran into several problems on his first visit, so had to return on a later date with Joe. On the second visit, with "two hands on deck," they were able to effectively repair ALL of the problems the slider had. And as they describe on their website, they left me with a quiet, smooth, and 100% functional sliding glass patio door with high quality wheels and a new track cap...almost like new. I previously invited two companies in Santa Cruz to replace the rollers on my mother's 60 year-old custom sliding glass doors. Both companies, The Skylight Place and Aptos Glass, told us the rollers are no longer made. A few months later I met Joseph of The Glide Guys as he was doing a sliding door repair for a neighbor. Joseph told me if they couldn't find the part, they could probably fabricate something. We made an appointment and not only did they find the part to order, they had a set on their truck and did an immediate repair on one of the sliders. The estimate seemed high to me at first, so I let my brain-injured husband try to fix it (he used to be able to fix anything). When he was unsuccessful, and our handyman couldn't help either, I called Grant and Joseph and they were so great...fast, efficient, knew exactly how to do the job right and had the right parts on hand. They didn't stop until there were zero bumps and the glide was like butter. They also replaced a screen door on our front door. They brainstormed with me to find the most cost effective solution based on my usage of the front door.
