Installation of our blinds was professional and quick. Jose did a great job. Peter was also very helpful in helping us decide what we needed. They had done a window for us previosuly when we were remodeling our kitchen and the shade and valance finished off the room just perfectly. Thanks very much Frank and Denise read more

What a horrible company!! I received a mailer for blinds from Advanced Blind. We are in need of shutters so I sent in a request for contact. I did receive an email offering an appointment for Friday 1pm. I immediately responded back stating yes that would work and what we were looking for. So, Friday comes around and I wait for the appointment. By after 1pm, no one showed up, I sent an email. No response. By 2pm, I sent another email after no one showed up. No one ever did show up for our appointment. This was highly frustrating as I wasted quite a bit of time waiting for someone that never showed up. About 24 hours later, I received an email from this Cassandra person stating that I never responded for the appointment. Really? This statement was made in the very same email string that she had where I did indeed respond. I then responded to her email explaining that I did respond. She has completely ignored me, never to respond again. No apology, made a mistake, how I can correct my mistake. Nothing. How damn unprofessional! How does this company stay in business. Spend money on advertising, get a request for business, then ignore them and blow them off. For all reading this, avoid this company and get quotes from the many others that actually want the business. read more

My wife & I love the custom-made Shutters that Advanced Blind installed in our home. They enhance the appearance of our home and provide privacy. Their high quality make them feel like fine furniture rather than window coverings. read more

We contacted the store and all the employees were so helpful. Peter came by our house and measuresld gave us advice and ideas. Peter came a second time to confirm what we wanted and to confirm the measurements. The blinds are made by the company which I wanted and they guarantee their work. After the blinds were made, Jose came and installed them. He was personable and did a great job. One of the shades we ordered I wanted to change and he and the company worked with us. Jose came back a week later and the blinds look great!. Quality products made by the company, and great customer service! read more

I am very happy with Advanced Blind and Shade. I have new windows that make it difficult to install blinds. I wanted something that looked good but took up little of my condo's ocean views. Peter helped me find shades that retract well and look almost like they are part of the window when they are fully up. He also helped me figure out how to cover a stacked washer/dryer that could not be hid behind a door. I ended up with a Roman Shade that works really well. The installation process was great as well. Jose showed up on time, easily found my condo, installed quickly and efficiently. He cleaned up after himself and the shades looked and worked perfectly. Anytime I call their office I get a human answering the phone who is knowledgeable and helpful - Tyler helped me a few times and I always accomplished what I set out to do when I called. I remodeled my condo a while back and rarely encountered businesses who gave me the quality service and product Advanced Blind and Shade did. Thanks so very much! read more

I have been in the window covering, repair, installation and sales industry for 20 years when I need a new window covering my to go company is Advance Blind & Shade. The thing that stands out is the quality, service above all Mike and his crew get the job done. Cassandra also. read more

Would not deal with them again. Not honest. Quoted price verbally for removal and reinstall and did not honor the quote.

High pressure salesmen came to our house a few days after we visited their shop in Monterey. If you like low-rent used car sales people, these are the people you are going to meet. Two came and it was like good copy and bad cop about the urgency of our order. We have other blinds to install and we will not use this company because of the sales people who came to our house. Another thing, if you attempt to contact them you have to check a box about receiving text messages about their offers. Very unprofessional. Finally, even though we paid part in advance by check they give you no option to pay by check. I have a call in to pay by check. However, installation was great and every thing fit perfectly. read more

Peter was our sales rep and did an excellent job helping us figure out what blinds worked in our home. In the end, we covered about 16 windows and the result was outstanding. The blinds look great and match the design of the home. Install was smooth, the quality was great, and the service has been awesome. I have had a couple of service calls about the motorized blinds but they resolved them quickly and professionally. Buying blinds is always risky but these guys are great, they are local and invited me to the shop. Great to see them in the process of building the blinds. I have no reservations at all about highly recommending Advanced Blinds and Shade, and Peter in particular. He is patient and kind and always willing to help and very responsive. Thanks Advanced Blinds!! You are awesome! read more

Took in a shutter door for repair because my bad decided to use it as a chew toy.The door was from an unknown manufacture. The quote to fix it was very reasonable with about a 4 week lead time. They called in 2 and 1\2 weeks telling me it was done. My main concern was with the repaired door color matching the rest of the shutters. My concern turned out to be unwarranted. The color matched perfectly. If the quality of the repair is any indication of there workmanship on a installation, I wholeheartedly recommend Advanced Blinds. read more

Made an appointment to measure windows on September 30th, the person said he would get back to me with a quote. Here we are Oct. 7th and nothing yet. I had to call them and inquire about the quote, person said "we been backed up, I will email you a quote today" Nada. Im thinking perhaps they screen there potential customers and come to the conclusion that there no worth there time. read more

We had a small installation of horizontal blinds to replace vertical blinds. Talked be phone about our needs. They arranged for advisor to come in two days. Peter Rasmussen spent as much time as we needed discussing alternatives in style, price and delivery times. What we chose was delivered and carefully installed on time and to our satisfaction. Would use them again, especially in comparison to other local companies we checked on while selecting a company. read more

Advanced Blinds and Shades stands firmly behind their work for decades. My wife and I have purchased their products for our homes in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos for over two decades. Todd Rybczyk has been our primary contact for all installations and upgrades. They are prompt, professional and highly competent. We found their prices to be competitive. Best of all, they stand firmly behind all of their work. We recommend them. read more

Kudos to Jonathan and Peter for making my shades fit perfectly. I appreciate their accommodating service!

We looked to Advanced Blind and Shade for new shades in our newly remodeled home. It has been 6 months since they came out, measured and installed our shades and I quietly thank them every day. The sales rep was knowledgeable and really helped me pick shades for each of our 17 windows. The installation was flawless and the shades fit perfectly. I raise and lower these things every day and am continually pleased with them. Thank you Peter and your staff for a great job! read more

Cancelled twice never showed for last appointment! I guess you get what you pay for, these people are flakes!!

Highly recommend for black and services. We have used them at 3 different times and location. Their product line is great, turn around time is 2-3 weeks and installs are usually fast. Highly recommended. read more

I ordered blinds from them. The person measuring was helpful with information in making the best decision. The blinds arrived and were installed efficiently. More importantly I had a problem with blinds that were NOT made by Advanced Blind. They were extremely helpful, told me what part I needed to order and offered to replace the broken part at a reasonable cost. I brought in a 2nd shade that they didn't make - they repaired it while I waited. The people at this store are the best! read more

Peter Rasmussen, sales rep for this company is excellent. The quality of our woven woods is great and Peter insured that he followed up, kept us apprised of delivery date, installation on site quality control, everything was to our satisfaction. read more

I will have to go back and give this place a zero review, even though Yelp is making me give them a star. UGH. As you can read from these posted reviews that customers have not been happy. That is really to bad. The Monterey/Santa Cruz peninsula is a "small" town and friends, co-workers, neighbors may ask for references....I will more than likely tell them to NOT even consider this company and will refer them instead to these Yelp reviews and let them decide themselves. read more

The installers Art and Jeffery were very efficient, clean and quick. Very professional, Highly recommended.

Todd with Advanced Blinds recommended Overtones Sheer Shades for two large windows in my home and recommended a color to match my decor. Todd's recommendation also fit my budget. The shades are perfect for my home and I could not be happier. The customer support with ABS is outstanding and I highly recommend this company. read more

We needed multiple blinds after a big remodel and called Advanced after my friend was happy with her new blinds from them. We had Adam come out to the house and show us samples and give us ideas. He recommended that certain blinds we ordered for sliding glass doors have shorter cords in case young children might visit and possibly get caught in a cord -- and extra helpful suggestions like that. He was completely delightful and made it really easy. Then a couple of weeks later when they were done he came back and installed them quickly and easily and they are gorgeous. The entire experience was highly professional and really friendly. Top-notch service and beautiful blinds. read more

I wanted to buy local. I used Advanced Blind & Shade for that reason. I figured made locally and the company being here would be better. As a rule you get better customer service on any problems that arise. Not so with Advanced Blinds. At the time of installation I was told any problem just call. That the blinds had a lifetime guarantee. Now that I have i problem now they are saying the lifetime guarantee is on the fabric only. I have a blind that keeps falling down and won't stay up. Something with the mechanics is not holding the blind up. Now they want $75.00 to come out and look at it plus more for the repair. That's not what I bought. I'm not unhappy with the blinds and shutters in general. Just that one is failing to work properly. I guess when someone wants to sell something they'll say anything. Oh well my mistake. You expect that from most used car salesman, but not Advanced Blind & Shade. read more

Wow - I'm really surprised that AB&S has received a number of negative reviews. I've worked with them on a number of projects - a house in Carmel Valley, an apartment building in Monterey, and my current house in Old Town Monterey - and have always been pleased with the service and the product. I made the mistake of using 3-Day Blinds once (due to a special promotion) and was extremely disappointed with their design advice, the service, and the product. So when it came time to correct that mistake, I called Todd at AB&S I got exactly what I needed. I'm very pleased to be able to strongly endorse a local company that has always provided exceptional service and a quality product. read more

We had Advanced install shades in our master bedroom and they did an excellent job, They measured the area for the shades and the measurements were right on. The installer hung the shades perfectly and they look outstanding - and they work like a charm. Plus their estimate was 15% lower than a competitor. We give Advanced 5 stars. They also have a lovely show room with plenty of parking spaces. And they are nice people. read more

I took 2 blinds in for repair (restringing). I explained that these are adjacent to a series of 5 other blinds on a large expanse of picture windows. I received a call from them the next day saying they could not restring them. I asked them to please try to make them work, and I said I didn't care about the opening halfway feature characteristic of most blind restringing, and I would be glad if they just worked, i.e, opened and close from the top to bottom. This company tried and called back saying they successfully restrung the blinds. However, at no time did they disclose that they removed the upper railing to these blinds, a surprised I discovered when I went to pick them up. I was not made aware of this and I could not use the blinds that were missing a railing as they would not match the rest and were restructured, I would never have agreed to this condition. The restring tech then proceeded to insist he told me about this, but in truth he never did. He became emotionally aggressive on the phone and proceeded to imply all this all was my fault and in a hostile tone said they would do no more repairs for me. In truth, I would never do business with this company again in any case. I then took the blinds to another blind repair company who was far nicer and they said the blinds were definitely repairable. This new company was starting to restring one of the blinds and said that the fabric gasket for the larger blind was missing. I called Advanced Blinds to retrieve this part, but the repair tech immediately said that they lost it, and it appears they had no interest in looking for it because of the quickness of their reply. My feeling here is that I was being punished, that they had no interest in seeking or returning an important part of one blind which they themselves removed. This gasket is an essential part to repair this blind and since there are 14 other blinds in the room where they are installed and they all must match, so I may have to get 14 new blinds at great expense, due to the negligence of Advanced Blinds losing this gasket to one blind. In my opinion this is a horrible company and I would not recommend Advanced Blinds to anyone and I would very strongly recommend anyone to stay far away from this company. read more
