This blind pig location is okay in a pinch, but temper your expectations. Our first time visiting here the food was fresh and cooked well. I had wings that were delicious and my partner had a burger that was cooked nicely medium rare. Since then, we've gone back several times and the food has consistently been overcooked and dried out--regardless of what was ordered. I finally tried a burger last time I was there and it was almost inedible it was so overcooked. The most well done burger I've probably ever had when I ordered it medium rare. I'm not sure if they changed cooks since our first visit or if we just got lucky that first time but burgers and chicken are DEFINITELY not something to order here. The wings are good and the fried pickles are fantastic. Those are the only things that would make us return to this location. I live almost across the street but would probably choose to go to another blind pig or another restaurant entirely over this one unless I want wings. read more

There are a few Blind Pigs in Athens, and this one is the closest to my apartment. I went on a Tuesday night which is trivia night. It seemed busy, and the guy leading trivia night is pretty funny. We were seated pretty fast, and were able to order quickly too. I ordered the Fat Matt with LTO and pickled, small deluxe nachos, and the rueben sandwich. The rueben was crispy, warm, and flavorful, and I enjoyed it especially for my first time ever trying it. The food also took around 5 minutes to come out after we ordered. After a long day of moving our son in his apartment we were glad to find this place. We were seated right away and the place was full. It was trivia night. We ordered the Philly in a wrap and added bacon. With a side of tots. The food came out quick and tasted really good. It was a bit on the pricey side with having to pay extra for a side. Since it didn't come with the wrap. It came out to about $16 for the wrap with tots. I would go back I really liked the wrap. read more

Went here after the National Championship Celebration. I am disabled and it is obvious. Had a blonde waitress carrying food yell at me to get out of her way, I was standing against the half-wall leading to the bar area. After almost hitting me in the head with her food tray and causing me to stumble and almost fall down the steps, she yelled at me again. I apologized and tried to get out of her way. We made it to the bar area and while standing at the bar, the same waitress yelled at me that I couldn't stand or sit there. I again apologized. She turned around and yelled at me again that I couldn't sit or stand there. At this point, I advised her we would leave and she said fine. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Bet management doesn't care. Bet if I had fallen down those steps because of her they would have. Have no reviews of the food because we left and went to Loco's. I've frequented Blind Pig at the other locations over the years. This location (the second time we did business here) just doesn't seem consistent. I was attempting to phone an order in for pickup while my husband was out. A female answered & immediately placed me on hold. Held seven minutes without her returning, I hung up. Never could get back through, line stayed busy. They were not busy at all. I don't think we'll return to this location now. To add to the service issue, it's extremely clicky with just some neighborhood folks. And that's fine, we love our neighborhood bars too. But the service just isn't there. The waitresses were too busy going for more shots before they left for the day. The food is just ok. We liked the burgers. But, fair warning, everything is over the top SALTY. If you're ok with bar food, that basically is what it is at best. The downtown location has MUCH better food. read more

Nice outdoor dining at this sports bar, even on chilly days. Easily identified by the large pig on the roof of the outdoor patio. They offer an outdoor ping-pong table and cornhole games in warm weather. They also evening drink specials during the week and on weekends. Food: 5/5. Although they offer usual sports bar food and drinks, we like this one because it offers options for inside and outside dining and the food is consistently good. Its menu is larger than some similar restaurants in this area, with soups salads Wings and hamburgers as well as other sandwiches. The sides they offer are also good. We enjoy cole slaw on hot days and sweet potato tots or stew or black beans or french fries on cooler days. I Service:; 5/5. Servers are consistently pleasant and efficient. They refill drinks without having to be chased down. Whether you are inside or outside, they come around and check several times during your meal to make sure everything is going well and to offer to get anything you need. Location 5/5 The restaurant is conveniently located at the corner of a strip mall so it has an easy entrance and there is adequate parking in the lot. It isn't downtown but it is on one of the main roads outside the downtown area, Is near to the university (easily assessable by bus) and near other restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in the strip mall. Then we hear yell from the bar area "country music sucks". Assume it was the male bartender. After that yell music went back to acid rock. Managers and/or owners. I waited for 2 hours for my food at the other location versus it took 8 minutes for my food to come out at this one. This bar has got to be the most poorly managed place in Athens. I have now visited both the East Side location and the Broad Street location (which I already reviewed). This review if of the east Side location. The restrooms were gross. The toilet wouldn't flush in the women's room and the men's room was dirty. The manager spent most of his time flirting with the waitresses, which might explain why he didn't make them wear their masks correctly or that they wore them only when approaching the customers (not when they were pooping beer or bringing out food). The food was fine, but I was scared to eat it because of the risk of COVID and the fact that in the two hours we were there, the bartenders didn't once was their hands (though one of them did braid the hair of the other one). If I could give a zero I would. I travel all over the country and I have NEVER had a worse experience that I had tonight at the Eastside Athens, GA location. I have been eating at the Blind Pig for over 20 years and over the last 3 years it has deteriorated substantially. Our group of 4 ordered our "normal" there expecting at least decent bar food. I will let my other group members express their opinion but I will address my own. I ordered a beer, my normal appetizers, fried mushrooms and fried pickles and some chili nachos for the group. My beer was warm, they claimed a "game day" menu so no mushrooms. The nachos had 4, exactly 4 full chips! The rest were crumbled into small pieces at the bottom. The pickles, which I have had at ALL locations were under cooked and soggy when they brought them. The tater tots w the burgers were cold In short it was unbelievably bad. I asked to speak w the manager and the COOK came out and said he was the manager! He said since we had touched the nachos and pickles we had to pay for them. Never have I seen such unprofessional action from a "manager." I told him I had been coming to the restaurant for years and had never had such terrible food. We threw our money down FOR THE ENTIRE CHECK but he followed us out to our car threatening us. Unreal. I will speak to corporate about it but this restaurant needs to just go away. read more

It was spacious and had corn hole games, ping pong table and other entertainment to keep patrons happy while there. Wait staff were prompt and attentive. I had the piggy melt & fries. It was yummy! We started out enjoying our meals here, but tonight when I ordered a pitcher of frozen margaritas, I was informed by a very snotty manager that "we've never had a blender and we have no plans to buy one". I ordered a veggie burger off of postmates, and when it was delivered and I bit into it, it wasn't a veggie burger but rather a beef burger. I immediately called and spoke to the manager, and he was very helpful and understanding. He said that since they do not work through postmates, they commonly have errors such as this on the postmates app. He kindly offered me a refund/new burger. Today I went to College Station Road and ordered our meal. I spent the extra $2 to get a salad with my meal instead of fries and when we got our bill, there was a $.65 charge that the waitress didn't tell us about because I wanted an extra dressing. I asked the waitress why there's a sixty-five cent charge and she said because they charged for the extra dressing. Nowhere in the sides section does it say there is a charge, only in the wings section. I asked to speak to the manager, Sarah and when she came and I told her the situation she told us that there was nothing that she could do and that the servers would get in trouble if they didn't charge. The manager left and when I gave the waitress the my bill where I told her that I would just take it outta the tip and she gave me an attitude. I got the manager again and we said we weren't going to be back and her response was "you're not gonna back for $.65?" Our response was we've been coming here for several years and you would be losing a customer that has been spending at least $15/20 for several years. The food is prettt good, but with not being told about the extra fee up front and not taking it off the bill when we realized that there was a extra expense. After years of being a loyal customer, you've just lost that and we won't be back.
