My favorite BBQ anywhere! Hot food, great service and clean. We have been coming here since it opened.

Should have taken a picture before eating, but couldn't stop once I started eating. So yummy! I had the brisket and burned ends! The cheesy Mac and cheese and smoked potato salad...so good! Plus, the friendly staff make this my go-to for BBQ! read more

Have ordered a lot of take out during the pandemic and this was a go to spot because they were good and I wanted them to success. Sadly the quality isn't consistent. Had a rack of ribs so tough the family wouldn't eat them. Called to let them know about the ribs, Zach said they would make another slab or could refund me. I opted for the refund since we already ate dinner. Never got the refund. Followed up to let them know so they could make it right in case their online ordering service was the issue, but no response. Previously had an orders with items missing and the beans tasted like burnt liquid smoke. The only thing that seems to be consistent is a friendly smile and their brisket, but in a town of bbq and doordash, they better step up their game to keep up with Joe's, Q39, and Jack Stack for the price. read more

I took my Dad here for Fathers Day and he was blown away!! The burger was the surprise stand out but he said it's truly top 2 BBQ places in KC. You won't be disappointed! read more

Just had a much better experience, food was ready to go when I pulled up and order was correct, now it's eating time!

The servers were lovely and the ambience great. As usual the nachos were superb as were my husbands ribs. The chicken in the dirty bird salad was horribly dry and tasteless. Really needed salt at a minimum. Really not up to this restaurant's standard. read more

Our First Time here, last night, what a wonderful experience! Our server was very personable, professional and informative. The food was amazing! Great presentation, unique and absolutely delicious! Great overall bar menu, especially the pricing and bourbon selections. Great Happy Hour food and beverage. Love the big cream and brown leather seats at the bar. We had a Boilermaker and a Rye Whiskey flight then headed out to their huge patio for live music and dinner, we split the Butcher's Block. Right up there with the all big name KC BBQ Restaurants and better than most of them! read more

Blind Box BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Shawnee, Kansas

I've ordered a drink at the bar a couple of times, waiting on a to go order. The drinks were delicious and unique. The bartenders can give some great suggestions if you're unsure what to order! (Oh and the food is great too!) read more

Not too much to say about this place. It didn't "wow" me or give me the "I need to come back here" vibes. My burnt end sandwich came with about 5 pieces of burnt ends meat the fries were soggy from oil used to fry them. My husbands platter came with two meats of his choice, the brisket was good but the turkey had some type of after taste I didn't like. For his sides he ordered Mac and cheese and fries. The Mac and cheese sauce was watery and dripped off the noodles when picked up with the fork. BBQ is something KC is well known for so I like to try any bbq restaurant I come across so I want to recommend you do the same just to get a feel for different flavors. read more

Brisket sandwich was melt in my mouth greatness. Waiter was very cool and professional. Nice atmosphere. Outside area just looks at a big parking lot. Sweet potatoe waffle fries were perfect. Loaded Mac n cheese with pulled.pork was 4/5 stars. I'll be back! read more

Food was great! Our waitress, Becky gave great service and very personable! Our first time here, we will be back. Thank you!!

The Mac and cheese and bbq wontons were excellent! Great service, they were very attentive!

Had a very nice BBQ dinner! The smoked spin dip was pretty good. The cheese topping was a little too thick for the chips and the artichokes were a little too tangy for my liking. The main course was amazing though! Baby back ribs were so tender and the sauce was the perfect accompaniment. Our waiter Jarrod recommended the onion straws and corn bake for my sides and they did not disappoint. They were all well seasoned and delicious. The service was great and Jarred have great recommendations. All the staff was wearing masks and following COVID protocols. Great experience over all! Would recommend if you're looking for upscale bbq! read more

Jennifer was great. She gave amazing recommendations and the food was very good. Will definitely go back!

Food is a bit expensive but it is excellent! Service is very good also. The products are top notch read more

Excellent food. Ordered pickup a few weeks ago while we were out and ate in the road. The pulled pork sandwich was excellent, the bbq sauce is very good as well. The Onion Straws are killer. Decided to order take out to bring home, we live in south Olathe. Typically take home food loses something during the trip, not this. The nachos have to be the best I have ever eaten. Chips were still crispy. Even my kids (who don't like anything that's not a chicken tender) ate everything and to quote my son " This is fire". From my standpoint this is the best BBQ in the metro area. read more

Showed up on a Tuesday for lunch, sat at the bar and Jill recommended the Tuesday special, which was the Pit Mix. Absolutely amazing. Stellar whiskey selection as well! read more

In KC for a tournament and Ikea...looking for a place to eat close. Decided to give Blind Box a try. Pros: Good meat great taste...good barbecue Sides were really good Liked the sauce Server was nice Cons: $13 for 4 pieces of burnt end and 4 pieces of sausage. Not a fan of the lettuce under my small serving of meat a slice of texas toast may have made me ignore the lack of meat! Our server did not try to up-sell us on the yummy deserts we saw on our way in. Pretty sure the sandwiches had twice as much brisket as the more expensive platters. I can say been there and done that and back to our old BBQ joint! read more

I think they make their bbq blind folded. Ordered it twice and regretted it both time.

Food is always good. I placed an order to go at the Shawnee location. To my surprise, there was a 10% charge for supplies which are a set of plastic utensils and a napkin. I will not place another to go order. read more

Since we are from MN, we wanted some good BBQ. Other places we tried had a long wait. We looked on yelp and found Blind Box. We told a few others from the softball team about it and we all loved it! Great food! Great service! Staff was super friendly! We come to the area at least 2 times a year with the softball team. We will be back for sure! Highly recommend!! read more

Our church has used Blind Box multiple times for catering. We absolutely love working with Blind Box! The food is always accurate and delicious. Andrew has been amazing to work with! You won't go wrong with Blind Box!!! read more

The bbq here is amazing, ribs and street corn stole the show. Annie was the best server and made our experience a great one!

I went here to celebrate my birthday and was extremely disappointed by the service. I asked for a Cocktail which shouldn't have been a problem except that the Bartender was too occupied entering to-go orders into the POS system. She claimed she would make my drink when she was done entering the orders but she decided to stand behind the bar and do nothing instead. That's when I decided to walk out. I won't be back. read more

Kansas City is a city FULL of options for great BBQ. I had heard great things about Blind Box so two friends and I decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. The wait staff was very attentive and kind. But the food was... just okay! I'm not a BBQ snob at all but just saying there are definitely better options in KC. We tried a few appetizers, the BBQ wontons and BBQ chips which were both very good and affordable! The corn bake was very good as well. My friend had ribs which were a tad bit on the dry side and I had the Carolina Q. We all agreed the fries weren't the best, I would opt for another side instead next time. Dessert was very good as well. Not a bad place if you're already in the area. I will probably give it a second try. read more

I've been a fan of Blind Box for a long time. Despite one of my favorite entrees being taken off the menu (BBQ sliders), I have remained loyal. But tonight II'm questioning who has been "blind." As I often do,8 I met a friend for dinner tonight. We arrived at 5 pm and began with a couple drinks before ordering dinner. When I inquired about happy hour drink specials, I was told that regular margaritas were not part of the $7 HH price, so I indicated I would try the Rosado margarita for $7. When it arrived, I couldn't tell what was different than a regular margarita, but I didn't complain. Imagine my surprise when the bill arrives and I find out that I was charged for three $11 margaritas instead of $7 margaritas -- and then discover there was an additional $6 "mystery charge" on top of the $33. When I inquired, our server said he "misunderstood" and had been ordering me the regular $11 version. He was kind enough to ask the manager about the $6 line item that had no explanation on the bill ... and the answer was that there is a $2/drink charge for the "mix." What?! If you're going to charge $13 for a 12 oz drink, just say so! Don't disguise it as an $11 drink and assume people won't notice the extra $6 on their bill!! This is the most underhanded practice I have seen in a long time -- and that's the thanks I get for my loyalty to locally owned restaurants! I could get the same size/quality margarita at Jose Peppers for $5! I feel ripped off and will boycott Blind Box in the future for this shady practice. if you choose to frequent this establishment, pay careful attention to your bill or you may be ripped off as well. read more

This is this 4th time we've visited. The food and service is always amazing. My favorite are the wings... full of flavor. My 14 yr old comes to a BBQ restaurant and orders a double cheeseburger... but he really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burnt ends sandwich with the garlic butter broccoli... so good! Our server Avery was top notch. Answered any questions we had and offered suggestions if we weren't sure. We'll definitely return soon. read more

It took us 30 minutes after getting seated to even get our order taken once our order came the brisket was all fat that burnt ends were way overdone the beans were dried and crusty and the coleslaw was flavorless the ham was fatty on the sandwich the food was just not good the waiter leave a lot to be desired told us three times he'd be right with us ask me if I wanted a refill on my drink and took another 10 minutes to get that after he made sure he got his tip from another table needless to say I won't be back read more

I wasn't impressed, meat was pretty dry, prices were high and the cups were so tiny not a fan.

Every time I come to KC, I visit. Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Great prices. The Sunday brunch is where it's at. It's a wonderful assortment of fantastic food and beverages for a family-friendly price. The wings were awesome. My personal favorite would be the ribs. If you're thinking about sides, that mac and cheese is legit! read more

My competition combo was delicious. The burnt ends were the star. They were lean and tasty. The beef brisket portion was generous, but not as lean, and not as tasty as the burnt ends. I liked the ribs, with their pull off the bone meat. Three sauces were available: original, sriracha, and honey mustard. The service at the counter was attentive and friendly, while the dining area was nice and clean with classic rock background music. Very nice! read more
