Phenomenally delicious!!!!! First, Mashpee is like some dropped a hallmark town in the middle of Cape. The appetizers: mussels and Brie onion tart. The mussels were amazing. The onions and the broth were flavorful yet subtle and delicious. The tart was the savory, scrumptious bite everyone needs. For my entree, I had the duck breast. Cooked to perfection - crispy skin, and tender inside. Phenomenal, and so was the risotto topped with goat cheese (I think it was goat). I have been here many times and have enjoyed it. The baccalau chowder is delicious, the cranberry chicken croissant and salad was a delight and 9 times out of 10 it's a terrific experience but when it gets busy the meal I had yesterday points out the 1 time out of 10 can certainly be disappointing. I have had this herb crusted haddock with crispy potatoes, heirloom tomatoes and caper berries before and very much enjoyed it. We went in on a Saturday at 12:30 for my hubby's birthday and the charming bistro restaurant was filling up. I ordered my haddock and was so sorely disappointed. The haddock was hot but lacked any perceivable flavor of any herb at all. The parsley oil was certainly green but the parsley flavor was imperceptible. The haricots were too al dente as if not cooked at all and cold. The rest of the meal was not cold but not warm/hot either. Plus, my favorite part of the dish, the caper berries were missing. I say the berries were missing although there was one slice of a caper berry at the very end of my piece of haddock (see photo), so technically it had caper berry on it. Man, was that disappointing. Had we not been there for a special occasion, and since my husband was thoroughly enjoying his meal and the server was "deep in the woods" I did not send it back. My error I know, but there it is. Will I go back? Yes. My review here was strictly for the dish itself. Will I order this again, probably not but there are many other things that they serve there that are quite delicious. My onion soup didn't taste right. I had my wife taste it and she said that there was too much sherry. My wife had the scallops (as she often does) and said they were the best scallops she ever had. My duck was very good and so was the bread. Service was 4* Dessert was a big disappointment. I had moose with whipped cream on top. Both the moose and the whipped cream both tasted gritty. If it wasn't for my wife's rating on the scallops, I think I would have given them a 3* rating for this visit. When dinner for 2 costs $260 (with wine, tax, and tip), I expect a lot more from a restaurant. read more

Bleu never disappoints! Went with friends who had not yet been and they loved it as well. We all had fish, 3 has the salmon and I had the roasted Halibut of sweet pea pueee, pea sprouts and an incredible light butter sauce with segments of mandarins. Absolutely delicious, I even cleared my plate... and so did the other three that has the salmon. Dessert was a chocolate lava cake and crème brûlée - all very good. A Michelin 2-star-caliber restaurant that should be any foodie's destination in Cape Cod. One of the best restaurants (including those in NYC and France) I have been to in a long time. I am mortified. MORTIFIED I tell you. What a heart breaker. Will I stop going? No. But am I skeptical? Yes. May just go to the bar and nibble there, because their tartare and their escargot are flawless. Wine list? Superb. Drinks? Spot on. But with professional but STERILE service (Yrene?), bland salmon paliard (really a nicely roasted by bland piece of salmon and HUGE dallops of chevere plopped around the dish - I WISH I had photographed...), and the SLOPPIEST crepe, insipid, gummy and flavorless crepe - I was beyond disappointed. SO DISAPPOINTED. We trek out there for that crepe. And I didn't photograph it because I was... speachless. Gummy. Broken/torn (not picture ready) - lacking the light dijon spread. Ham and swiss, delicious, but the cold, flaccid and insipid/gummy crepe that I could make at home (I stink at crepe making). Store bought crepes would have done a better job. So with service as insipid and flavorless (almost snooty and stuck up) service in a restaurant that was NOT packed for lunch... I was left wanting for my lunch spot of 2023... and 2024. This one? Stuck up, bland, sterile and ugly crepe (and bland and gummy). C'mon people! You are WONDERFUL. Don't know what happened on this visit, but it was not on point. And that is a shame. Respect the people that want to visit and spend money for a pretty, delicious and crave-worthy lunch. read more

Food was great. Wine was expensive. Service left a lot to be desired. We sat at the bar before it filled up, so luckily we were served right away. Unfortunately, the bartender became so overwhelmed making drinks for all of the servers in the dining room, we were ignored after our food was delivered for 50 minutes. No "how is everything", or "would you like another glass of wine". Nothing. We sat with dirty plates and empty glasses for 25 minutes. The manager had to cash us out. Felt like the 20% tip was completely undeserved, but probably not the bartender's fault. The people around us had terrible service also but everyone seemed to act like it was normal. Maybe these places are just way understaffed after summer ends. In any case, won't be back anytime soon. read more

We are from out of town and hosted two friends for dinner at Le Bleu for a very special occasion. We very disappointed with the service. 1). Ordered oysters and escargot. Food was delivered without any appetizer plates. 2). Ordered a fairly expensive bottle of wine. After the initial pour, the server never came back to check/refill the glasses even though she walked by the table several times. 3). Server tried to remove plates before we were done eating. 4). Server tried to remove my wife's wine glass before it was empty. While the food was good, I have had better service at a diner. It was an expensive meal and all four of us were disappointed. Stopped in here for a Jazz brunch on Sunday! Didn't realize if you sit at the bar, you won't really be able to hear the music (keep that in mind before you give up your table!). With that being said, had a great experience at the bar with Megan- fun and personable bartender. The food itself was really lacking. I ordered the steak frites- the steak was one large chunk of meat (not sliced, like it should be), and the meat was dried out, overcooked, and TOUGH. Tough to both cut, and to chew. Huge letdown on brunch, probably wouldn't return (maybe just for drinks with Megan). read more

This charming little French restaurant nestled into the Mashpee Commons is fabulous! The escargot, French bread and homemade butter and the Brie tart were all a 10/10! They also had brut Rose champagne by the glass and it was the perfect accompaniment. A perfect spot for dining solo, with your significant other or family and friends. read more

Cute upscale bistro-like ambience with efficiently organized room. Great menu and preparation of several favorites. Mussels of the day were done without overdoing the butter, like some other venues, and a creative dollop for crème fresh on top. Nice enhancement. Scallops were well prepared with a maple glaze and interesting rice and shrimp packet(kind of Asian inspired) on top of a refreshing arugula and grapefruit salad. Loved our meals on what we thought might be a slow night....but was surprisingly fuller than we expected on the night after Easter. We will be back- although probably only off-season. Came for a special birthday celebration. I made a reservation for 2 in advance and the table was ready on time. Found Bleu by doing Google and Yelp searches of the best restaurants on the Cape and I was not lied to! The service was polite and efficient. The food was amazing! Here's what we got: Escargot w/ garlic butter: $11 Oysters w/ mignonette: $15 Salmon w/ mango pineapple chutney served with rice and asparagus: $33 Cassoulet w/ duck leg confit: $32 Belgian Chocolate Mousse: $9 Cocktails and beers (various) Every course was delicious! I hadn't had escargot in a while and it was exactly what I wanted it to be - buttery, garlicky and cooked right. The oysters were fresh and well shucked. My salmon was cooked well and I really liked the chutney; however, the coconut jasmine rice and asparagus were kind of boring even though they were cooked correctly. Besides the escargot, I would say the duck cassoulet was the star of the night! I'm not a big duck fan, but I tried my boyfriend's dish and it was amazing! My only complaint was that it was a bit too salty, but it was super tasty and I would totally order that next time. My only "letdown" was that I put that it was my *cough cough*th birthday in the reservation and the restaurant didn't acknowledge it in any way. I thought the dessert might be special (Happy birthday written on a plate) or comped, but it wasn't. We were given the check without asking for it and I had wanted to order 1 last drink - something with champagne since I was celebrating. I went to the bathroom and then was able to flag down the manager to express my disappointment (they had started to close up a bit early). He was apologetic and asked the bartender to make 1 last cocktail for me that he also comped, which was very nice. Overall, this was definitely a 5-star restaurant and experience. French food is always great, but in American hands can be problematic. I had a ham and cheese crepe with a side salad. As Americans often do, it was swimming in dressing, making the lettuce very wet. The crepe was okay and rather large. The service was rather good and the ambiance was quietly blue! My boyfriend had quiche, which was individual and tiny. We had, on the spur of the moment, decided to stop at Bleu for a quick bite. It has been a few years since we went there, so we were not expecting much. However, we were blown away. An unusual produce based menu With many options each imaginative and some what different from the usual French faGenerous portions and well priced; and great coffee Also, after we had opted for an outside table and then moved tables we lost our server. However, once we made ourselves known, we were lucky to be taken care of by the very charming owner, Carrie, who expedited our meal. As we were next to the door, we were able to hear the jazz singer as well. But the icing on the cake, literally, was the desserts. Actually made in house by the chef who seems to be a true artist. They were melt in your mouth light and fluffy. T he presentation and taste was superlative. Easy to spend +$500 for five people here! I had the rack of lamb, Which was overcooked but by the time I got it I was starving ! This is why they did not get four stars I think a place like they should get the meat correctly cooked the first time. Our server also should've been monitoring the timing of the delivery of our food. As we had to ask a couple times. We didn't have time to wait for it to be sent back, as it was already close to 40 min to receive our food! My daughter had the duck Also not medium rare and my other daughter had the scallops. We all tried each other's food and it was tasty but not great! Especially since they were over cooked! Lot's of appetizers were also shared! The plating wasn't as impressive lacked in appeal as I would think a place like this should be. In fact the plate was a little bare , not a lot of things other than the entrée ie garnishes etc. Presentation was not up to par. Service was good Although my rack of lamb ribs were a little on the thin side not a lot of meat on the bone It was tasty. It still seems to be in a popular " neighborhood place and a special occasion place. When I lived in France this type of place would be rated more of an upscale French bistro. Still though if it was very tasty but I would think twice about returning - I need to re-evaluate the value for your money aspect . read more

We went to Bleu last evening. After we ordered the meal came out in about 7to 8 minutes. It was obviously already cooked & reheated or just finished off for a few minutes. Very average. We were rushed the entire dining. Since we were a 6 pm reservation they were anxious to turn over the table. Came over several times as we were finishing our cocktails to CHECK on us. Obviously trying to push us out. We were not at the table for long. Just finishing our cocktails. Higher prices & less service. Not in a rush to go back. Excellent service at the bar. Bartender even offered to make me a diet coke to go when I was short on time. Sandwiches are reasonable at $16. They come with a side salad which is a nice change from French fries. I had the Monsenieur Croque (sp?). It's basically a fancy ham and cheese sandwich. The Sunday jazz brunch at Bleu did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, musicians were amazing (and played at a volume that still allowed table conversation), and everyone on staff was attentive and friendly. Highlights included: steak tartare, maple bacon benedict, steak frites, and avocado benedict. The benedicts all came on brioche which really leveled them up. While the price point doesn't make this a sustainable weekly spot, I'd definitely recommend it for a treat or special occasion. read more

The food was great and the serving staff was kind and amicable when speaking to my girlfriend and I. I will say that we got placed in an odd corner table with little to no light compared to the rest of the restaurant which was lit up well. An odd spot to put people when there were other tables for two open and available the whole time. The appetizer we got was the warm Brie and it was good but a little bit to hard and not as gooey as Brie can be when heated up longer. The duck was great and cooked very well though I wish the sauce was a sauce and not so watery on the plate, I wanted it to be a bit more viscous to stick to my duck. read more

We had dinner at Bleu's tonight for our Anniversary. I made a reservation through their website that actually asks is this a special occasion and you check off if it is and what it is. I checked off Anniversary as that's what it is. So I expected maybe a small complimentary dessert after dinner. but NOTHING. The food was great. The server was great. But if you're going to ask on your site when you make a reservation then do something! Or else don't ask as that leads you to believe they will make it a little bit special. This restaurant is wonderful. The atmosphere is elegant and cozy and transports you to France. Perfect for a date night, but they welcome young diners as well. The menu changes based on seasons and always includes some interesting new options, but you can't go wrong with their classic French dishes. On a recent visit, we enjoyed garlicky escargot with their crusty homemade bread, duck for my husband and a very interesting chicken Niçoise salad for me. My four year old son was treated to macaroni and cheese that was the furthest thing you can imagine from the orange stuff that comes in a blue box. We kept sneaking bites of it when he wasn't paying attention. Service is always so warm and helpful. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. read more
