This location has gone downhill. I don't usually critique businesses, but I had an unpleasant experience here at my recent visit. First, they have a new register system, and it was giving a problem with my reward and my gift card. The food itself tasted bland and the quality wasn't there and wasn't what it used to be. They are cold and unfriendly, period. The improvement is this time they weren't rude. 2) They cleaned the oven!!!! No residue on the crust this time, improving taste. 3) still mixing ingredients but the tins are cleaner. How fun is this place? This is my first time visiting such an establishment where you customize your own pizza, like you do at a Chipotle. The pies are basically personal pies about equivalent to two regular slices you would get at a regular pizzeria. Crusts are ultra thin just the way I like it. They even have cauliflower crusts! I'm not fancy like that as I prefer good ol' regular gluten but my husband ordered his pie with a cauliflower crust and honestly they both were very similar tasting - I couldn't even tell! It does cost an extra $3.50 for the cauliflower crust but I guess it's worth it if it makes you feel better about yourself, and of course if you can not tolerate wheat for any reason. You can create a personalized pie completely out of scratch from the type of crust, to the sauce, the cheese, to the topping. All of it. I chose a signature pie (meat eater) to make it easier and customized that as we went down an assembly line of toppings. I added basil, chopped garlic, oregano, and a sprinkle of sea salt. And it was so so so delicious! The servers were very friendly and patient with my first-time self. I can absolutely see myself coming back in the future with my boys, and often too. read more

Besides the build your own they also offer specialty pies, one toppings pies, and even a simple pie with is just cheese and sauce. For the dough choices you can do regular crust, high rise, or even gluten free. They have many sauce , cheese, meat, and veggie toppings to choose from for the ultimate customization. Everything is fresh and the pizza I made was delicious. I did the regular crust build your own with sauce, mozzarella and fresh mozzarella cheese, spinach, meatballs, and mushrooms. After your pizza is done in the oven which only takes about 2 mins you can choose to do a sauce drizzle on top. I decided to do the balsamic drizzle and it really brought the whole pizza together. Service is great and friendly and then really keep the place very clean. There is free parking and it is located next to many stores in the Broadway mall. I heard a lot of good things about Blaze Pizza and I finally had it in October of last year. The place is pretty clean and has somewhat of a Chipotle style interior with an adequate seating area. I got a build your own pizza ($8.45) and a soft drink ($2.35). Total came out to $11.73 with tax included. They give you choices on what kind of sauce you want; I chose the spicy red sauce. I got bunch of stuff for toppings including pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, peppers, etc... I was blown away by how good it was. I was thinking beforehand that Blaze must be a hard sell in the NYC / LI area due a lot of good pizza being available locally. As I was eating mine though, I was thinking damn, this is really good. The pizza was thin and crunchy and the ingredients tasted pretty quality status. It was very satisfying and was also a lot of food; you might be able to get away with splitting one with a friend. I have a bigass appetite and even I took home my last slice because I couldn't finish it. The spicy red sauce actually contains a lot of heat and got me panting a bit. Their soft drink machine has some options outside of the typical coke / sprite stuff. I got a root beer whose name I forget and it was really good. So that added to the enjoyment I experienced from my meal. I was debating giving this 5 stars, but I think 4 stars is the right rating. I might've given out the final star if the meal was under $10.50ish. The $11.73 I paid for this meal is almost justified by the quality of the pizza and how big it is. I've been going to blaze for some time and it has never disappointed! The staff is always so friendly, helpful and very patient. This concept is like chipotle style but for pizzas. They have a build-your-own option which I think is one of the best options to get. On my pizza I got pesto sauce on the crust (which I highly recommend!!!) with red sauce with mozzarella cheese. For my toppings I got pineapple, mushroom, bacon, artichoke, green bell peppers and pepperoni. They then put my pizza in a fireplace oven which makes the pizza so crunchy and much better than a regular oven. Afterwards, I got arugula on top with some balsamic glaze. It was amazing as always. Although blaze pizza has a menu of pre-selected toppings, the build your own is the star of the show. There are endless topping choices and you can visit many times and have different pizzas each time. Best advice is to order different toppings and share among your party. Yep, these brick oven pizzas are made on the premises right before your eyes. Custom brick oven pizzas in personal size and refillable drink station at under $10, how do you beat that?
