This place is a fairly new addition to the lunch/food options in this shopping center. We had planned to eat at Moe's, but on seeing this place decided to try it. I'm a HUGE fan of a similar concept place in Raleigh- to the point that I've made the 45 minute drive from Durham to Raleigh to eat there. I had similar hopes and expectations for this place. Sadly, it was not to be. Because of the arrangement of the restaurant, and the absence of any type of topping menu on the board, it was hard for us to see if they had the toppings we wanted for our pizza before we decided to order. But, I wanted to try it and they had a BBQ chicken pizza, so we went ahead and ordered. I assumed the bbq chicken pizza would have some sort of sauce on it- it doesn't, only the drizzle at the end. I really prefer sauce under cheese on pizzas... this one ended up being a real mess because of the sauce being on top, and my attempt to fold. (I've lived in Brooklyn for a bit now, and default to eating pizza this way to avoid getting lectured on how to eat my food.) The roasted garlic that I was so excited to add ended up being both over and under cooked- charred outside and an acrid inside. Mom's was the same way. The dough... was middle-of-the-road dollar slice by NY standards. Limp, kinda chewy, not great. It's fine when it's a $2 slice and can of soda at midnight- not when it's a $9 primo pizza for lunch. They also only have one size pizza, which was a bit more than either of us wanted for lunch. Size options would be nice. Upon checking in to our hotel, the front desk asked how we liked it (due to the takeout boxes) and we told them we weren't thrilled. The person at the front desk also had a "meh- not that good" opinion of it. So, with it being across from better options, we don't plan to return. read more

I usually don't leave a review after a one-time experience, but this isn't good pizza, even for the area. I don't mean that disrespectfully to N Carolinians, but, well, the south isn't known for their pizza. Sorry y'all. My order was a large pizza with 5 different toppings and an order of their garlic knot-things. The knots were burnt. The pizza was subpar. There was probably 5 pieces of each of the toppings that I ordered on the entire Large pizza. None of those toppings were high quality so I'm not sure why they skimp on them, especially the bacon bits they're labeling "applewood smoked bacon". Giving this place 3 stars because our pizza was so undercooked that we had to bring it home and put it back in the oven for another 15 minutes. We picked up pizza to go and the place was packed so we thought maybe they rushed through the cooking. The pizza is delicious. Definitely some of the best we have had on multiple occasions but the staff seems to get worse every time. I get it you are busy, maybe even overwhelmed at times but that isn't an excuse to be rude or not speak. I will say the first person taking my order and the person doing the sauce and cheese is usually pleasant, after that it's crap. They almost seem like they can speak or if they do it's so quite you can't hear them over everything else going on. The guy who checked us out and handed out pizza to us clearly didn't want to be there at all. A lady came up to ask for a to-go box and he tossed them on the counter at her. There seems to be no management in the store over seeing what is going on. Maybe I will try to order on the app next time to avoid dealing with the attitude given. read more

Great pizza , 3/5 costumer service , weird way to order pizza , pizza didn't come out in the order we ordered them and there was very minimum difference so we don't know who got the spicy sauce . Knots were forgot about or they forgot who ordered them so they died in the window . Pizza was tasty and the versatility of building your own is great for the price! The downsides are: Too loud! There is nothing to absorb the sound. Just please turn the music down and add some sound dampening. Nobody likes to shout to have a conversation. My pizza was stolen because of too many people with my name that day! Hubby and I dropped in for a quick bite on Friday past. We both did build your own. Loved it!!! We both stopped eating meat and they offer vegan chorizo and vegan cheese. Do not come here. Came with friends for lunch and every single one of us was overcharged for our pizza. My receipt read $11.73, but my card was charged over $20. Another person in our group had a receipt of $11.73 but was charged over $30 for one pizza and a drink. If you do come, DO NOT pay with a card since they are clearly adding in tips. Currently trying to figure out how we can all get a full refund from management. Unacceptable. Update: Management offered a full refund, and a manager contacted me on Yelp about the issue saying there was a company wide problem. Lebron Jame's franchise pizza! What? Came here for the first time on Pi Day and Pies were only 3.14 per person. It was an awesome deal that could not be missed though it took 30 minutes to get my pizza because of the massive line. Otherwise, I customized my pizza and requested as much of the topics I saw and liked on it. It was a concoction of meats (sausage, meatball, bacon, ham, pepperoni) and veggies (red sauce, cherry tomatoes, roasted garlic, basil) at the end and topped arugula and ranch. Tasteless, unseasoned food with a deafening atmosphere. Having lived in the neighborhood for a number of years, I was stoked to see Blaze arrive and offering another option besides Chipotle and Jimmy Johns. Plus, it is pizza; can't go wrong, right? I was SO WRONG. On a rainy Sunday I stopped in and bought a BBQ pizza and side Caesar Salad. The salad was nothing more than a Dole "caesar salad in a bag." It has no seasoning to it (even after asking for extra dressing), the cheese was bland and had a fake texture to it, and probably a 1/4 of the lettuce had turned. I probably could have gotten a better salad from a grocery store "salad in a bag." The pizza was pretty much the same experience. ZERO taste. No salt, no seasoning, nothing. My red flag should have gone up when I noticed the chicken didn't have any color or seasoning "specs" when they put it on the pizza. The only flavor came from the cheese, which was the one-note of pungent gorgonzola. Before it goes into the oven, you're given the option to add salt and some Italian seasoning, which I took. If it tasted this bland, I can't even imagine how it would have tasted without it. The crust was bland (and burnt), also with no seasoning - it was like eating plain paper. If you want to feed a large family of young kids who likely don't have a discriminating palate, this place will work - lots of pizza for not a lot of $$. If you want better-tasting, just as fast pizza there are several other options within a 2-5mi radius. Skip Blaze. Finally, someone was not thinking when they thought of creating a restaurant with concrete floor, high ceilings and everything made of metal. It was deafening. Every other word from both the staff and the patrons was "what?" or "say that again?" because it was so loud. The music was barely on, so this was just loud, ambient noise. And, of course, when it's loud, people then have to talk louder, which makes it worse. I even said to one of the staff, "I don't know how you don't kill yourself with all the noise." He responded, "You don't have to tell me. It's even worse when the music is up loud. It's horrible." When I got to the car, I literally sat there for a few minutes to take in the silence b/c of the massive sensory overload I had just experienced. The only reason I didn't give this at 1 star rating was the staff. They were really nice and doing the best they could. read more

Pizzas came in intervals and sat on counter for quite a while. At 8, I had to beg for my salads. The guy who appeared to be the manager was apologetic, but the delays were horrible. She happily did a glove change (for my gluten free pizza) and was so kind and made conversation with me as she made my pizza. I like the concept of Blaze where it's a quick/easy build-your-own personal pizza, but the taste just isn't good enough to satisfy your pizza cravings. The staff are nice/helpful and the restaurant was clean, so it definitely gets points for that. The food isn't bad, it's just not very good. I've been to Blaze multiple times and don't find much taste satisfaction each time. Overall, I think you're better off going to a local pizza place if you're craving pizza. read more
