Tried them for the first time today and I was certainly not disappointed! They were pretty busy seeing as it was around game time and I really appreciated that everyone was working well to try and minimize the wait time, especially since I was on my break from work. They were also super friendly which made my overall experience that much better. This place has now become my favorite pizza place and my favorite restaurant in Fenway/Kenmore! (And that's saying a lot because there is no shortage of good eateries around here.) I love the "build your own" option, which allows me to add unlimited number of toppings (meat, cheese, veggie alike) for $7.95, as opposed to an upcharge for each additional topping, which is typical for most pizzerias and adds up quickly. I was not happy with this visit. I have been to Blaze many times and ordered the one topping pizza. When I ordered the pizza before I was able to get two cheeses along with my topping. I'm not sure if the rules changed but I was told if I get two cheeses then that would consist of my topping. When I received my finished pizza the lack of mozzarella was a little ridiculous, not sure if Blaze is running low on cheese or not. Also when my pizza was done I was not asked about any finishers. I used to always get arugala on my pizza but was not asked. I feel like the companies changes are bringing down the enjoyment of the restaurant. read more

This place is great if you want pizza but are ordering with someone with different tastes. The pizzas are essentially personal size, so you need at least one per person. They don't take orders by phone which is a little odd. You can order online but it's kind of a pain. They messed up my pizza a bit, forgot to add the arugula, but it was still pretty tasty. I personally love the cream sauce with veggies and goat cheese topped with pesto drizzle! Lots of seating available and I always have left overs which is the best! Richard the topping guy here is the BEST. He was so freakin wonderful and kind to me and my friends, and he made us laugh and also took his topping game VERY seriously. Pizza was good with many topping choices but the person who completes some of the order also checks you out- the employee had food all over his gloves and took my husbands credit card- I said something because his hands were gross and didn't want to get this on the credit card and also food and money should never be handled with the same hands! The pizza is pretty good but the service has become much less efficient in the past few months. When making their pizzas, they alternate between in-person and online orders. This makes it very difficult to deal with the counter when you order multiple pizzas: you have to yell down the counter at someone because there are potentially several pizzas between the ones you are ordering. read more

I built my own pizza with a high rise crust. The pizza came out of the oven burnt. When I went to eat it the crust was separated in two layers. There was not enough cheese and only one meatball broken up and scattered across the pizza. Will not be going back. read more

I ordered online so I could just pick up my order but when I got there they said that my order hadn't been put in the system and it had to take my email and 10 minutes to find my order. I got my first pizza really quickly but then they forgot about my other order and I was waiting about 10 for my other pizza until I went up and ask the manger where my other order and turned out they had forgotten my second order. I was amazed by the exceptional customer service! All of the people behind the counter were very cheerful, but one of them just made my day. He actually told a fairytale story through the ingredients I used (pepperoni houses and spinach storms were involved). It was the most positive food ordering experience I've had. I can't eat gluten or dairy and this is the only pizza place where my whole family can eat happily. All the pizzas are generously-sized personal pizzas and there are many, many toppings, all seemingly of good quality. The GF/DF pizzas I've had are excellent (as excellent as a gluten-free pizza with Daiya cheese on it can be) and staff seem to be trained in how to accommodate guests with allergies. The restaurant is set up with a fast-food style ordering process but with restaurant-quality food. The real reason I'm leaving this review is because the customer service and staff at this particular location are incredibly friendly, great and accommodating. My 5-year-old daughter dropped an entire pizza on the floor right in front of the pickup station. I assumed we'd just have to buy a new one, but within seconds one of the staff came over to double-check what toppings she had so they could make her another one on the house. The employees were all friendly and looked like they enjoyed working there. I have a dairy and soy allergy and one of the employees made my byo pizza thru out the entire process. I didn't have any issue with the cross contamination bc they changed gloves, but cheese does get into the other containers. The online ordering has the allergy information on it so I was able to look thru it before placing my order. The pizza was decent and filling. Updating my previous review. Lowering to 4 stars. Why? The pizza has been great, but they are no longer new and still need to get their act together. They guy at the register, who is very hard to understand, has twice overcharged me (for a Build Your Own when I got a Simple Pie, High Rise, which should be $7.45). The first time, when my order came to over $15, I asked what the price was for a Simple Pie, High Rise and he looked up the price of a S'Mores and said $2.25 (so he doesn't understand me and I can't understand him). He should not be working the register. Sorry. Then the cluster after the pizzas come out was too much. They all have a number on them and so do the sheets of paper. How hard can it be to figure that out? People were getting frustrated. They need to iron out some details still, but the pizza is great. read more

I write this review with a degree of sadness. I LOVE Blaze. I've been coming here for months and have never been dissatisfied with the quality of pizza (high rise BBQ chicken pizza waddup?!) However, after my experience last night I can't say I will ever be coming back. I hope the manager of this location reads this review and makes some serious changes to protocol in regards to food safety. Their customers' health is at risk. I work in food safety. It's literally what I do. Getting sick from food is all too easy. Look at the recent debacle at Chipotle, and the dozens and dozens of news stories about foodborne illness. I noticed two alarming incidents during my last visit - incidents that screamed improper food safety training. The first was when an employee coughed (like a gnarly, sickly, mucus-y cough) into his hands and continued making customer pizzas. He did not wash his hands. He did not change gloves. He continued working. The second incident was when an employee pulled his phone from his pocket (he was wearing gloves) to check the time. He then pulled up his pants (touching his jeans and visible underwear). Right after, he began making my personal pizza. He never changed gloves. Also in the process, he contaminated the bins of ingredients as he went down the line to make my pizza. For context, a few recent studies have declared cell phones to be 'germier' than TOILET SEATS. It was so disturbing I actually considered walking out and not paying. But I didn't - maybe it's the gruff New England grin-and-bear it attitude. I paid and promised myself that I'd never return. Foodborne illness is not a joke. Food safety is not a joke. When you prepare food in front of your customers, I expect your food safety practices to be flawless. BLAZE: I plead to you, step up your protocols! But in the meantime, I'll be at Regina a few storefronts down Boylston. read more

First off, I am gluten free and went here with some friends because it was late and they were looking for pizza, when I saw they had gluten free pizza available, I thought I might see how they handle it. They have a separate area for shaping the dough, and they changed the gloves for me as well which was surprising because they asked me if I wanted a gloves change before I even brought it up to them. I had a young lady named Bria who was amazing and gave me white glove service and was very considerate of my allergy and made sure it was communicated to the food line. As for the pizza, it was delicious which was unexpected from a fast casual pizza restaurant. I have had good gf pizza, and I've had bad ones. Most of them end up being bland and you kinda know what you are in for. Blaze however was a delicious pizza and had a fantastic crust that held its integrity with extra sauce on it and had a good crunch when you bit in. I am giving them 5 stars for the impressive way they handled my allergy and for having a delicious gf pizza which is hard to come by. Special shout out to Bria for the top notch service! read more

The staff is friendly and they keep this place moving fast even with the constant stream of hungry customers.
