I experienced Blaze Pizza for the first time on a Sunday afternoon right after church, so I was expecting there to be a bit of crowd. When you first arrive at Blaze it definitely puts off a modern vibe like a Chipotle or Torchy's Tacos. The walls are decorated with all sorts of modern art, but the difference is that there is a family friendly like feeling produced as opposed to something like Torchy's. It isn't a sit down restaurant so we waited in line for about ten minutes before we were able to start placing our order. If it is your first time then the friendly staff will do an exceptional job at explaining to you what they're all about. You start off by either choosing from one of their specialty pizzas like the Meat Eater, or something different like the Art Lover, or you can do what I did and opt for the ability to customize your own pie. Salads are also a big part of their menu and some of them looked promising, but for the pizza they let you choose from an array of extremely fresh ingredients including all different kinds of classic pizza meats, vegetables, cheeses, and sauces. After I was done customizing my pizza, they load it up in the fast fire oven and it was out and on my table in a little over five minutes. The tables were pleasantly clean when we sat down considering how crowded it was. The waitress that brought out our pizzas was pretty nice, she had a smile on her face and told us to enjoy so what else could you ask for. The pizzas came out on a simple plastic tray over paper and they were golden brown with the perfect amount of black char on the edges. They were surprisingly not nearly as oily or greasy as a something that you might find at one of the larger pizza brands, and the overall quality of taste was outstanding. Every crispy fresh bite was just as good as the last one. A worker checked up on us to ask if we needed anything regularly and brought back drink refills exceptionally fast. The bathrooms were nothing special and they were as clean as they should be. So in the end Blaze Pizza offers fast fire'd customized pizza at a very fair price of around $8. They provide a large assortment of the freshest ingredients, and in my opinion if you compare Blaze to their competitors like Mod or Pieology, Blaze definitely takes home the crown in terms of overall quality of pizza and service. read more

I give it a 2 because mainly THE STAFF!!!! Stop hiring kids that don't know a thing about customer service and taking GLUTEN FREE SERIOUS! Actually caught the two boys laughing about the fact that YES I SAID YES TO GLOVE CHANGES! So irritating when these people at quote on quote restaurants don't take food allergens serious! It's not a choice but a must . Anyhow, there's a young girl that works there, didnt catch her name but this isn't the first time she does this,she has to be some kind of lead there, great, no eye contact, and when we were trying to pay she cane around to wipe the counter borderline stepping on us, was shocked but we didn't move and she kept going. Now I don't know about you but me personally i would wait until customer is finished and out of the way ..... was In a rush to clean up before closing. Now mind you they close at 10 that day and this was happening at 9:30..... then another kept sweeping around our table . How many times your gonna sleep around us? We are the only ones on that side! Just rude and makes you feel uncomfortable. Rude rude rude all around! Such a shame because their pizza are delicious and i don't know that theirs another blaze around Austin .... management get a hold of your staff and get better training in these kids. Get the build-your-own pizza for about $8; you go through the line cafeteria style and tell them which ingredients to put on, then it's fired really quickly in their big oven. Delicious! But, employees had their name tags on the sides of their hats. So I don't know name of tall,skinny guy with man bun who put on my toppings. I would tell him to put on one topping, and if I started telling him the next topping I wanted too soon, he would not put all of the first topping on my pizza , but instead dropped some of that first topping back into it's cubby! Then go on to the next topping. It was like "Oh you want another topping? I'll just put some of this first topping back!" And that's what his actions were saying. I would have given Blaze 5 stars if it weren't for him being stingy with the toppings multiple times. I had to ask for more of my favorite toppings. Still, my pizza tasted really good.....I just had to be persistent about getting my toppings on there! Oh, and their blood orange lemonade is to die for! read more

I enjoyed being able to choose from so many great toppings to put on my build your own pizza . But because I chose a lot of toppings, I think the dough just hardly got cooked. Like a wet noodle on bottom. One of our friends who requested fewer toppings, ended up with his pizza burnt on the bottom and on the edges instead. I'd like to suggest that each patron have the OPTION of having the pizza bake in the oven a minute or two, maybe with only the tomato sauce, before putting on all the toppings, and firing again. Also, I'd like a plate to eat off of, especially when the dough is a little too doughy . If I try to cut the pizza when it's too limp, it just tears into the thin paper which is in between the aluminum pan and the pizza. I may have eaten some of the paper. Maybe better to eat it at home with a real plate and metal fork. Way to go on awesome toppings! read more

After a couple of Pizza Hut deliveries I thought to try them. Ordered my usual large pizza with a weird combo of toppings. It arrived as ordered. A little cooler than I expected, but certainly delicious w/o reheating. Crust was thin and foldable. No extra oil, even with a pesto drizzle and extra cheese. Gorgonzola cheese taste didn't come through, but with all the stuff on it I'll pass on judgment. Next time, something simpler to check that flavor. Delivery guy did a handoff instead of door mat, but (a) he was 3rd party and (b) he was well masked and kept his distance. Saccones Pizza still has my heart in terms of NY style -- sorry, "Jersey style" -- pizza. But they don't deliver, so this is my new go-to story. read more

Jayden was very good at assisting my friend and I we've gone the quite a bit and as I was selecting my toppings "Jayden says a lot of veggies right?" I said "YES" apparently he recalled that I had been to BLAZE a few times...STORY TIME! So my friend went to restroom and I stared talking to another customer Teresa, and we were discussing how GREAT Blaze is and she stated how she goes once or twice a week! The pizza here is just superb. I've come to this joint many times in the past few months and a few employees have caught my eye and really made me remember them by their fantastic attitudes. These kids really seem to just love working here with a smile on their faces at all times, three girls named Kait, Justine, and Cali and also this boy named Travis. They are all simply the cutest, and just made my visits there so wonderful! The quality of Blaze's is above any other's. These guys are usually really busy with to go orders, but this was an extreme amount of them and it seemed like they had a good system going to keep it moving. I came here for their promo when they first opened. These guys are fast! They pushed through about 100 people in about 20 minutes! Pizzeria was very good despite their customer load. Very pleasant employees here and you don't normally get to talk to as many workers with COVID going on. They are nice and they put up some distance between you and them while they are decorating your pizzas. The crust is always cooked to perfection, the cheese is super high quality, and the temperature is always spot on. Beyond the food, the crew on Burnet is mad friendly. Their energy is infectious. My pizza had a very hard crust which I don't personally enjoy. PIZZA: To be completely honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Conan's pizza -- just not for me. I don't like the hard crust. I respect the twisted crust thing they do but I prefer mine doughy. I am assuming this was intentional but I guess it's possible they overcooked it? Either way, the crust was really hard. I also felt like the tomato sauce overpowered the cheese. That being said, the toppings (mushrooms and sausage) were good. So why am I still giving it 5 stars?! Because I loved the vibe SO MUCH. Plus pizza is a bit subjective and one of those foods that is fun to eat even when it doesn't knock your socks off. INTERIOR: What is it about Conan's that's so awesome? It has a 70s / 80s fantasy pulp / heavy metal fantasy aesthetic (think Frank Frazetta). It has board games and a few arcade games. It has a dive-y feel but is also pretty neat / clean. My favorite part is the seating though. There are mostly private booths (each in their own little enclave) decorated with posters and covered with graffiti doodles. So, like a little dive-y joint that you have all to your group. I would have loved to go on a date here! And if booth graffiti is not your jam, there's a really nice elevated seating area by the entrance (complete with lovely hanging ivy plants). HISTORY: The original Conan's Pizza opened in 1976, at 29th St. and Guadalupe. It closed in 2018. Conan's Pizza South opened in 1978 and Conan's Pizza North (this one) opened in 1979. So far, I've tried the Mexicana, Diablo, Choriqueso and the Hatch Chicken Enchilada. All were delicious and unique. They are not the typical flavors you find in most pizza restaurants, which I love. Third, the customer service is great. They are nice and courteous to me every time I step in the building. Id recommend this place to anyone!

What you'd do in any place of work. Close at closing time. I wouldn't have blamed him or been upset had I gotten there after 11pm and they were locked. The comment with attitude was completely unnecessary. Your system still takes orders for a reason. I hate when people do the same but it's still an unspoken rule that you don't tell the customer anything. They still made it in and out before you locked your doors. The black man with a grey beard and the white man both didn't know what to say when I confronted them about it. This was so ridiculous I'm literally still shocked that it happened. It looked authentic and the service was relative quick at the standup window, but the pizza was another story. The sauce had no flavor and the crust was like cardboard. It was the first time after a night of drinking that I actually had to throw the slice away without finishing. To make matters worse, the price tag for a slice was $4.25 which feels like an insult after taking a bite.
