What a great find in Bar Harbor! We had done the lobster places and were on the hunt for somewhere that had a variety while also decent prices. Blaze was that perfect combination! They had really nice outdoor seating that we were able to enjoy. The drink menu had plentiful options for craft beers, also the assortment of spirits and wines. It was hard to decide what actually I wanted to eat because everything looked so good! They were all your basics but with twists that made them high class at a very reasonable price. My husband and I ordered the steak frites and seafood risotto. The seafood risotto flavor got old really fast with the lobster being subpar. The crab cakes were served on the colder side. The steak was so bad, I had to stop after a couple of bites. I don't even leave reviews -- but so disappointed with the rather expensive bill and low expectations to begin with. First and foremost our service was great. Everyone was kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the poutine was disappointing with under seasoned fries and gravy. Visited last night. Took extensive time to get our food and our waiter didn't appear to even be aware. When asked twice, he said they were "working on it," which isn't a sufficient answer after waiting so long. This was after about an hour wait. We told him we would take our check if food wasn't out in 5 minutes. Food finally came. Chicken on my daughters salad was not edible. Salad that came with my daughters friends meal literally had congealed dressing that looked like melted cheese on her salad. My fries with my taco were a clumped together and about 20 fries could be picked up together in one mushy clump. Have been to Blaze several times and enjoyed it but will not be back, unfortunately. They comped 3/4 of the price for my daughters salad, as she tried to eat the salad around the chicken, but also said the whole salad has a weird chalky taste. read more

I have no idea. we waited an hour and a half for our order, and while our waitress was lovely as was the setting, no one explained the delay in food. other tables seated after us with similar orders were served first. the staff were gracious in comping our drinks, but I'm still hungry. read more

BEWARE - Every order has a 4% "admin fee" added. Obviously this restaurant isn't honest enough to print actual prices but instead puts a notice about the admin fee in the fine print in the lower right corner of the menu. Fantastic pizzas. Very busy place, so plan ahead. We got take out. If that was all... it's a 5 star place. While waiting for my food, I saw the one cook handling food without gloves. He picked up chicken fingers barehanded and put them in a to go container. Unacceptable in any setting let alone in the remnants of the COVID pandemic. We were in Southeast Harbor for the Christmas week. It was a nice vacation away from the city with just our family, a fully stocked kitchen in our condo, and the outdoors. Well.... What an absolute delight! We had the bacon wrapped scallops with blueberry compote. Perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Our bartenders Casey and Mike were very friendly and passionate about their beers. Never a bad suggestion. They are the only place that wood fires lobsters- truly a treat. Do yourself a favor and try the peanut butter or s'mores stout. Really enjoyed an afternoon off the over saturated Bar Harbor streets. The hostess was extremely rude. We opted to sit inside, but changed our mind and requested to be seated out. Since the restaurant was fairly empty, the bar tender happily asked us to choose any seat outside. The hostess almost yelled at us for walking outdoors and said we should wait till she asks us to sit. The service was also very poor. The server never asked us if we needed anything and mid-way through our meal knocked the check on our table. The pizza was average. read more

Patio Manager is exceptionally rude and unprofessional. When we were seated there's was zero voiced or posted expectation of us needing order food. This was slow hours on a Thursday, during the middle of a weekday, pre-season. We ordered a round of drinks and enjoyed sitting in the shade out of some early summer sun. The patio manager very rudely informed us after we had been served drinks that we would normally need to order food to be out on the patio. The response we got was "Oh so you aren't eating. Oh OKAY then" before storming off. She then had a waitress come and tell us that if we wanted to stay we have to move inside. We asked for the check and caught some other staff to file a polite complaint that we felt that it was inappropriate to scold customers at their table for not ordering food. In the midst of this conversation she butted in and harassed us again saying "I have not given you any attitude!", and so on. We decided the best move was to take the check and move on. Casey the bar manager followed us out to apologize. He's a total gem, and the reason this is a two star and not a one. Great spot for dinner. Mussels were so good my boyfriend was drinking the sauce with a spoon! I got the special scallop caprese salad, it didn't really go well together in my opinion but was presented well. My boyfriend got the wagyu sandwhich (not pictured). We came in for dinner. We were on our mini moon, and we knew it was off season. They were out of a couple of things but that didn't stop the dinner from being any less than amazing. Our waiter was super friendly, recommending places to stop on our way home. I had the lobster and scallops risotto. So good! Scallops are hard to get right and they cooked them perfectly! Saturday night we waited for 1 hour 40 minutes. Luckily we reserved early in person and then went to shop the downtown area. Reservations could only be made in person. We ordered wings in the Buffalo sauce (not spicy) and got a side of ranch. It was delicious. We got the margarita pizza and a regular pizza. (It was personal size). We were starving so we ordered 2. Had about a half pie left. It was good! For bar harbor pizza it was good, wood fired. The pizzas did take a long time to come to us because the oven only cooks 3 pies at one time. This was one of our favorites in Bar Harbor, enough so that we dined here twice during our visit to Acadia. The beer menu, for starters, is an excellent way to sample some of the best craft breweries in the region. The food is decent, although (like a lot of options in Bar Harbor) a little on the pricier side for what it is. The pizzas are relatively good value and the fries were solid. Other stuff was more so-so; for instance, while we loved the bacon-wrapped scallops with a blackberry and maple glaze, we were a little underwhelmed with the 3-piece serving for $18. Another upside in these pandemic times: there's a bunch of outdoor seating, especially covered seating for hotter daytimes. In short, it's not the gold standard for bar food, but it's certainly one of the better options in Bar Harbor's quite uneven dining scene. read more

So we drove the 4 hours from Boston. Looking forward to our first lunch in Bar Harbor. The restaurant being empty, we still waiting 45 minutes for 4 entrees (no apps). The front of the house staff seemed not to be interested in whether their restaurant was open or closed. Here is the kicker. We discovered that the water bottle was cracked and missing a chip of glass. We brought this up to the attention of their manager. She seemed very disinterested in our feedback. The food was dry. Our kids are 2 of the chicken fingers and left the rest of the food. Blaze is a tourist trap we do not recommend. Lots of better places, where the staff are more welcoming. read more

One of the best places in Bar Harbor (along with Merchant & Frye)! Food is great, with a quite extensive menu, the cocktails are great, and the beer list is amazing (not just IPAs, which is refreshing - do try their porters/stouts as well as sours!), and the service very good. They are also able to accommodate various food restrictions, so this has become our go-to place every summer when we visit Acadia. Strongly recommended! read more

After much discussion by a cousin who loved this place, we finally went there for lunch. The menu was large and diverse...from wood fired pizza and burgers to paninis, salads and heavy appetizers. For such a small place I was impressed with the breadth of choices. A little on the loud side if you have anyone heard of hearing, and we had 3 families eating there too which added to it. Two burgers and a haddock sandwich were ordered. The burgers were flavorful but over cooked (well, versus medium). The fried haddock sandwich was the best I've had this summer with aioli sauce on a delish bun. Service was good, except for a check to see how the burgers were cooked which didn't happen. Hands down, this was our favorite meal in Bar Harbor. Blew the others away. A little off the main strip. So many options from wood fire pizzas, seafood, steak, Cajun (half their kitchen staff is from Jamaica). If you like brussel sprouts theirs were some of the best I've ever had--pickled jalapeños added a delicious and unique twist. Husband got the bacon wrapped meatloaf and I got the lobster and scallop risotto. Portion sizes are generous. Soooooo good, all of it. Great cocktails too. We love Blaze and never miss a chance to eat or just grab a drink at the bar when we're here. It's our kids' favorite pizza, and we love the great beer choices, delicious seafood and meat choices, and the fries with aioli. We dined at Blaze on our final day in Bar Harbor. We had worked up an appetite on a cold stroll on one of the carriage roads, so we opted for pizza. This place was within an easy 10-minute walk from our hotel, so I can't comment on parking-convenience. The restaurant is about a block from the town park. The building looks big, and there appeared to be more seating areas towards the back that were not being used at that point (maybe they are for warmer weather?). Inside was cozy, with a large bar area. The place was fairly crowded when we arrived but there wasn't a wait yet. Service was good. We split a veggie pizza and it was quite good. We finished it without having leftovers, and were satisfied. This place was one of the more satisfying meals I had while visiting Bar Harbor. read more

On a Sunday after 2pm this gem was one of the few places open. Tavern atmosphere but the food was next level Great chowda and the burgers were huge. First time I couldn't finish mine which is rare but only cause I was full. Tasted great. Had the Blue cheese burger with duck fat fries. Must have been 2 potatoes worth of fries. Wait staff was attentive but not hovering and service was quick. We got there just in time to get last table, they offered to page others when tables became available. read more

Finding lunch in Bar Harbor can be a bit of an adventure, as we discovered when we stopped in before catching the ferry to Yarmouth. Many restaurants operate on a seasonal basis, and quite a few aren't open on Mondays, when the ferry is running. We were starving by the time we stumbled upon Blaze. Thankfully, the pizzas we ordered came out fast, as did our drinks. My partner had the mushroom pizza, which she loved. I had an unusual pizza with chilies, chorizo, apples, and a smoked cheddar sauce. The way the smoky and spicy flavors mixed against backdrop of the creamy white sauce and the gooey cheese really worked. The pizzas were generously sized; even though we came in hungry, we had to pack up the last few slices. My only complaint about the pizza is the crust could be crispier; it held up to the pizza sauce and toppings but was missing that satisfying golden-brown delicious crunch. The ambiance is a little more mixed. We were glad we sat outside, as there isn't much to the indoor dining space. The covered patio (complete with outdoor bar!) is much nicer. We'll be back in Bar Harbor and may stop in again! read more

This place should be better. Wood grilled? Full of flavor? No. The pizza was bellow average. They might have forgotten to add salt to the pizza dough. It was bland. The toppings were not restaurant quality and poorly done. We got "grandmas pizza" which was cheese with tomato and basil.
