Spicy pineapple tequila cocktail from the menu

We stopped in Blanco Castelar for a couple drinks. Our server was kind and offered some drink recommendations. The drinks were well made. The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of seating.

This restaurant is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Mexico City Polanco. The restaurant used to be someone's palatial home. We were welcomed to a sangria at the bar and then led to our table. While the appetizers were underwhelming, they were delicious. The main courses were excellent. we also received a grilled artichoke which was cooked the perfection.

Amazing dessert - we thought it was a real lemon at first!

I've been here twice now and both times were outstanding. We tried several dishes as a group and all were great. Such a unique and classy ambiance.

That's a beautiful, high scale restaurant. The ambiance, the historical house, the service and the food are all top notch. I would recommend it for especial occasions.

This spot has the best vibe and beautiful restaurants and enough staffs who will take care of you. Feels Boujie and food is great. Make sure to make a reservation before you go especially during pandemic. Follow me on Instagram @willeatfood

Amazing service, delicious menu and atmosphere. This restaurant is in an old beautiful building with lovely features. Chandeliers and also trees in the dining room. We were welcomed in with fresh lychee mojitos before heading to the table. The tiradito palmito was amazing, fresh heart of palm with a savory almond topping and light cream chili sauce, this was our favorite dish. Then we shared the fondue de huitacoche which is a special corn fungus that only grows in the rainy season served with a cream sauce and fresh tortillas. Ravioli with pato (duck ravioli) came with a delicious cream sauce and was served along with fresh bread made by a famous local baker. How we were also able to eat steak con frites with an ah jus and the beet and burrata salad, I have no idea. Will certainly visit again.

Robalo en la milpa

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Unfortunately we visited on a weekend night, when many of these restaurants have a live DJ, which changes the ambiance from fine dining to a clubby feel. The beet salad was simply amazing. The combination of the beets, mozzarella, arugula, roasted almonds and the balsamic drizzle make this a feast for the senses. Followed the salad with the fried calamari (average in quality); 'solomillo a la plancha con jugo ibérico' (very tasty and well cooked steak topped with a delicious iberic ham glaze), and the 'robalo en la milpa' -- (bass, crusted with pumpkin seeds, and corn kernels). Everything was delicious and stood out (except for the calamari, which wasn't bad, but also nothing special). Wish it had been brighter so the pictures turned out better. Will return when there's more light next time.

First restaurant I visited during my Mexico DF trip... the bar was set high. Everything was perfect. Excellent service and staff.

Listen to this: I need more Latin cuisine practice. Estoy practicando hablar en español... but…read morethat's as far as I get. I love to try new foods and attempt the local language wherever I go... but still it's impossible to mask dumb: I ordered a delicious bowl of Eggs in Xalapa style tomato broth. It arrived but they brought tortillas.... Ok... maybe I should take the (what appeared to be) scrambled eggs out of the broth and into the tortillas? Maybe add some beans and salsa too? No, of course you cannot make tacos out of soup-- idiota!!!! I had to laugh at myself and only one passing server gave me the Rock's stanky eyebrow as broth squirted everywhere! This place is absolutely stunning. The views by the window, the food presentation, the artwork and decor inside and out: I loved it all. It was especially nice that this whole Palanco area is basically one big green park. Again, my Spanish isn't great and I need much more practice but the waitress and the management were so kind and supportive. I would definitely recommend this place for a solo adventurer but it's quaint and yummy enough for a nice group dinner.

I would've thought Mexico City had great food in general, but that wasn't the case. Was there for four days, ate many meals out and this was the only one I really enjoyed. Too bad the place was so hot and stuffy. It was cooler outside than it was inside. All they needed to do was open some windows. Service was great though.

We also ordered the smaller contrarmar size for 2 people because we wanted to try a bunch of other things from the menu! I can't imagine if we bought the bigger size.. it's still a lot of fish! Highly recommend that! Service was super attentive and helpful.

Contramar is believed by many to be a "must have" restaurant in Mexico City. I'm so glad that…read moretheir sister restaurant, Entremar, has an identical menu, easier to attain reservations, and it was located near to me in Polanco. Being from California, I was surprised to hear that they opened their newest location at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas last month. We ordered the tuna tostada that people rave about. It was ok. We could have used some more assertive flavor from acid or spice. I couldn't eat a whole fish (their signature dish), so we went with shrimp in their adobo rub in a taco and fish al pastor. These were also just ok, but the price tags are high for their entrees. I've seen pictures of others fish al pastor with onions and cilantro and that certainly would have added something I felt was missing. The one thing we ordered and loved was their seasonal mackerel ceviche which was in an apple/citrus/olive oil sauce. It was unique and delicious. I think their ceviche and aguachile are probably their strengths, but the cost is pretty high to leave feeling underwhelmed. Honestly, we will be going back to mi compa chava for better seafood

It's in a trendy area and upscale although we came dressed mor casual. It's on the second floor and has amazing ambiance. We ordered the dynamite roll, crispy spicy tuna, truffle salmon, miso soups, caterpillar roll and tuna truffle roll. The truffle roll has to be one of the most amazing rolls I've ever eaten, if you like truffle of course. Everything else was amazing as well. The dynamite roll was great and I highly recommend literally everything we had. They also have great drinks, we had a mexcal maracuja drink and lychee martini as well as hot sake. For dessert we chose the tres leche cake and the truffle ice cream cream brûlée. If I say I have never tastes anything as amazing probably almost in my life as this truffle ice cream!! I know if we would have gone to a restaurant of this magnitude in the states it would have cost double of what we paid here. The service was excellent and Samuel and everyone was so attentive.

Wrong, the food was great, beautiful people seated everywhere and friendly, warm servers. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant. Even though none of our party smoked, the tables were spaced far apart enough that it wasn't an issue. Very, very good sushi/sashimi. Not Masa, Nobu or Morimoto good, but could hold its own amongst most other well regarded Japanese restaurants. Glad we were able to find this so close to our Polanco hotel. If you're looking for good sushi/sashimi in CDMX, you won't be disappointed here.
