We spent thanksgiving with Family in Mexico City and decided to check out Botanico for Thanksgiving lunch, which in Mexico was just another lunch since there is no special celebration or menu We were able to get a reservation for 6 and the table was ready tight away on the patio. The patio is beautiful and the garden and plants are just gorgeous to look at , it is a very natural vibe and works great For the main food I had the mussels with coconut cream and French fries, which was outstanding and a really good portion for lunch for one person. I also had a cappuccino to end the meal and it was expertly prepared and served. Wow. Botánico is everything everyone says it is. Garden full of 50-year-old cacti, a pond with axolotls (yes really!!), and food that absolutely earns its Michelin recognition. Came for a late Friday lunch -- get there early, it fills up fast. The jocoque is the move. Tangy fermented dairy with peas and pickled fennel, totally unique, completely addictive. Mussels in coconut-lemongrass were also excellent and came with seasoned fries we didn't expect -- so the baby potatoes side was a redundant skip (the sauce on those was a miss for us anyway). Split the rib eye burger and it hit hard -- perfectly cooked, bacon, hollandaise, our first burger since landing in CDMX. Cocktails on point. Service warm and quick, even ran out covers when it sprinkled. 5 stars. Add it to the list. read more

Botanico is a great restaurant with delicious food, attentive service, and beautiful ambiance. This restaurant is a little pricey (in Mexico standards) but definitely worth it. The service is really good from the start to the end. The food is very fresh and flavorful. The cappuccino was smooth and tasted great. Overall I really enjoyed the dinner here and I'll try to come again if I'm back in Mexico! read more

You are semi outside surrounded by lush greenery as you embark on a culinary experience. The service was incredible!! Now for the food I have no notes everything was simple yet elevated. Botánico is a tale of two meals. One of them is mine, and the other is my wife's. My meal of tuna carpaccio and a pork Milanese was delicious. However, her lunch of a Tuna Tostada, which was good, and Parpadelle with lamb ragout, which was horrible, left her wanting. Botanico is in a beautiful space. You dine surrounded by huge cacti and greenery. Hence, the name Botánico. It is mentioned in Michelin as a recommended restaurant, which is a surprise because it was relatively unknown for years, located afar in southern Hipodromo. The waitstaff is prolific, standing in groups at lunch and working in teams. The clientele was smartly dressed, looking as if they just stepped off the polo field, making me feel like a slob from Milwaukee. Oh, I am a slob from Milwaukee. The two bars are lovely. One is located in the jungle of greenery. The other is inside, upstairs, and across a bridge. While not cheap, Botánico is a wonderful dining experience. read more

I dined here on 3/19 - ugh, previous Yelper beat me to the FTR! - with three other friends; and we had an exquisite time at this Michelin-rated restaurant. First, know that you're stepping into a modern and serene botanical garden complete with a koi pond (and yes, a few axolotls/Mexican salamanders), lush plants and cactus, including a large saguaro. We arrived hungry and ordered just about everything on the menu. Caesar salad Kampachi tostada - Yes Jocoque - Do it Tuna Carpaccio - A MUST Papperdelle with lamb ragu Pork milanese Grilled shrimp For a Michelin-rated restaurant, we didn't receive the attentive service you'd expect. My friends and I ended up here spontaneously after our original reservation fell through! After seeing the rave reviews and the Michelin star, we knew we had to give it a try. This place is absolutely incredible. The seating is entirely outdoors but covered, so you stay dry even if it rains. If you get chilly, they provide cozy fresh blankets. The food and drinks were outstanding! For larger groups, I recommend ordering different dishes so everyone can sample the diverse menu options. read more

The best part of this establishment is the small pond with lovely fish and the landscape design. The service was incredibly disappointing- shockingly bad and the food was salty. I left parched - didn't want to be charged for a bottle of water to deal with the saltiness. Totally bummed as we were looking forward to this meal. Our waiter had zero personality. I chose this restaurant for my milestone birthday dinner with my family. The setting is stunning with a koi pond and enormous cacti. The service was flawless. Everyone was so gracious and attentive without being intrusive. We all ordered several appetizers and cocktails as well as main courses. The mocktails and cocktails did not disappoint. Each dish was prepared perfectly and we all agreed this was the best meal we had eaten in Mexico City. A perfect meal to celebrate life. You step of hectic street in Condessa and feel like you have been transported to a tranquil Mexican resort setting in part because of the HUGE cacti that great you in entry with a fish pond complete with axalotl! On a quick trip to CDMX, we made early reservations to Botanico. The place is beautiful and the food is great. Why the low rating? The service. Our server looked angry to be there, treated us with almost a bored attitude. He was slow to come check on us, gave us the cold shoulder and we had to flag down other staff to order more drinks. We did realize that other diners who were very obviously tourists, had better service. There are far too many restaurants in this beautiful city with exceptional service to be wasting time here, unless you have a certain look. read more

We stopped by for a little bite and a drink. It's just another hidden gem! Gorgeous patio and tons of beautiful plants and scenery. Music was perfect, some jazz some jams, overall an amazing vibe. All the cocktails sounded delish but we opted for something simple and grabbed two beers and shared the cauliflower -- after a day of tasting around condesa this was perfect. Amazing service per usual & just a reminder of how beautiful the service in Mexico City is. Def loved it here!!! read more
