From beginning to end this was an amazing experience! The host was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was 10/10. The juiciest, crispiest, and well seasoned piping hot chicken my husband and I have had ! Oh and baby the Rillon (pork belly) was superb! Somebody's great grandmother was cooking those creamy beans!!! That was some love in that pot! My husband had the scallops and he enjoyed them as well! Now for the ambiance.... Great for girls night out, date night, business lunch or dinner, or a solo meal! The place is clean and athletically appealing! Love the old doors on the walls with the address such a touch of New Orleans! We definitely will be back and soon!

The decor and vibe was so nice . We went during happy hour and the drinks were amazing. The slides were perfect and Riverbend Fries should be an exclusive appetizer because the sauce is absolutely divine. Only issue was the Buffalo Lemon Pepper shrimp the favor was good but the shrimp was over cooked. I made sure to inform the bartender who was our server. Altogether I'm glad I came will be back for the River Bend Friessss!!!!!

The food was just okay. The service is very slow, they had what looked like a high school student taking orders. She was trying but she needed someone with her. the ambiance was intimate they had a nice band playing. The menu is very limited.. Mostly fried items. I'm not sure if i would return for food but maybe drinks and appetizers if the bad is playing.

Brunch on Sundays with r&b music. Love the location and chicken & waffles. The pasta and wings are also good. Great parking.

Really enjoyed the vibe here -- relaxed, fun, and welcoming. The food was actually really good, and the drinks were decent. The owner was our server, and she was super friendly and help with menu selections, which made the whole experience even better. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

Second time coming here and unfortunately it was after I praised and bragged how good they were and got some of my family to try them. We had a pretty large reservation (12 people) and was told they couldn't accommodate all of us sitting together even though there was more than enough room in the booth area for us all to be able to sit with one another. COOL! We were the last to arrive and were given paper menus that quickly got soaked due to the table being extremely wobbly. At one point I had to tell my cousin to not place anything on the table to not have it shake like it was having a small tantrum. The vibe was nice again, really solid music playing so that wasn't bad. The waiter we initially had took our drink orders and then completely disappeared. We sat and waited for another waiter to bring the drinks and it took sooo long my wife had to get up herself and get the drinks that were sitting for so long it had gotten watered down. So much for that auto gratuity. When explaining the menu, we were told that they were still only serving brunch (it was 3PM) and then they mentioned the catch of the day (didn't even say what the actual catch was) only to tell us it wasn't available on the brunch menu. The new bartender they had there DIMITRIS kept repeating a sad old tired joke when someone wanted water and he would ask for their ID. He did this a couple times and it was observed he did this apparently to get numbers? Idk it was weird. Food took so long that we all forgot what we ordered. Some other people's food came out so quick that by the time they finished we STILL hadn't gotten our food. Prices we paid don't reflect the price on the menu. On the menu a tequila sunrise is $10, we paid $13 which isn't a problem but there was not one mention that it was more. Craziest part at this point was that I ordered an alcoholic drink and NO ONE asked for my ID. Make that make sense. We finally got our food after about 45+ minutes and I'm not sure why it took so long there was only our party and 1 other table. Chicken and waffles was fantastic and someone at my table even said it was the best fried chicken he ever had in his life. Asked for syrup and the waiter gave us 1 for each person (I guess they're rationing condiments). Eggs and the omelet was overcooked and had no salt or flavor which is disappointing. The first time I had got the tequila sunrise, I found a gnat in it and the bartender immediately made me another and it was delicious but things quickly went from meh to "Why in the hell did we come here?". Whoever the servers are, didn't split the check and put everyone on one bill. No biggie right? WRONG!! My cousin paid for his daughter and her husband which left us with the remaining balance which somehow was about $30 more than we ate for. We did the math adding our meals and the gratuity and the taxes and everything and it consistently totaled about $80 but we were presented a bill of $107. Which apparently still wasn't right. No one seemed to understand how we were overcharged $28. When Blake did come to explain she was SO patronizing and I told her we're not paying the extra $30 because it didn't make any sense. Then in this middle of this whole thing which at this point has gotten worse and worse, the super annoying and obnoxious bartender asked us to leave a 5-star review. I think this guy's drinking on the job because it's no way in hell it was 5-stars. To be fair, he was welcoming and interacted well with the kids but it was way, way too much like chill and let us enjoy the food. No one seemed to enjoy it and we 10/10 WILL NOT RETURN. I probably won't recommend this place and that's a shame because the food was decent. Oh well, c'est la vie. ALMOST FORGOT.. at some point the sever came out to tell us they ran out of grits and I just don't understand how you limit the menu to 12 items and still run out. I don't even know when brunch ends but it could be when dinner starts. Just a really bad experience that has lost them 12 customers and based off how empty the place was, they might need all the customers they can get. Not even sure how you fumble this badly with our group being the only people eating.

Growing pains are apparent. I wanted to like this place, and to be clear, I'm still rooting for it. I just can't recommend it as of today. I'll work to revisit and update this review in a few months. I reserved a table about a month ago, and we were seated immediately. And I was able to park right out front. The ambiance is beautiful. It's an intimate, casual, and chic setting, with interesting artwork, colors and textures. My only issue was the periodic flickering of the lights above our table. One minute it was bright, and the next it was dark. Service was lackluster. Our server Javonne had no energy, rarely smiled, and occasionally looked disgusted when describing dishes on the menu. It was so odd and uncomfortable. You expect the server to be excited about the menu, enticing you to spend money. There was also something off about the server, but I'll be diplomatic. We were the only table for a good 15 minutes, and we were parked outside for about 20 minutes before that. The restaurant had no customers during that time, so I don't understand what was going on with the server. Food was ok, overall. Blake's breakfast: 8/10; tasty, but stingy. It consisted of one egg, one slice of bacon, a two inch piece of baguette, and a bowl of grits. Ribeye and eggs: 6/10; we asked for medium well and they gave us past well done. While the cuts were well-seasoned, they were thin and tough to chew. Salmon omelette: 6/10; where's the salmon? Pancakes: 8/10; the side consists of two big and fluffy cakes. They were stingy with the syrup, though, and I had to request more. Water: 6/10; I typically don't comment on the water, but this tap water had a distinct, unpleasant smell. Definitely compliments of Sewerage and Water Board. I'm so over this restaurant non-cash trend where you pay a fee for using a credit card. I was charged a $6 fee just because I used a credit card as my payment method. This used to be a cost of doing business, but passing the cost to the customer has gotten out of hand.

10/10 on the new menu! Great staff/service. The atmosphere was nice with a great playlist. Definitely recommend if you are in the area

Just left Blake's Place and had an amazing time!!! The drinks were amazing and the food was so good! That honey butter sauce is devine!!! And the staff and Chef Blake are awesome!! This is a hidden gem and a spot that you should make a local destination. And the ambiance is second to none!!! Can't wait to go back for brunch!

SHORT STORY Brunch/Lunch/Dinner *Check website for menus and times -nice spot to eat -street parking (some paid, some not) -reservations (can walk in but depends on availability like most places) -good food -good environment -cards/cash -Black woman owned LONG STORY Met chef Blake at her Tasty Treat food truck and she mentioned her new spot Blake's Places and I been meaning to try it and finally got a chance to. Made a reservation for about 11:30am on a Sunday a little after the place opened for brunch and was able to sit immediately. Waitress and bartender were really nice and attentive. Ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of the dirty potatoes. Food was good to me! I was happy to have actual wings with my waffle again! Them suckas was on point 100% As other people started to trickle in I thought this a really nice spot, nice ambiance, good service, good food, dope music. Door vibe altogether. I'll definitely be going back to check out another vibe outside of brunch. Go check it out!

Food was incredible. The service was outstanding. This little small gem came across my radar as a result of a social media post. The photos of the food were good but didn't prepare me for the delicious taste. It's a must on your trip to New Orleans.

It was a nice clean lines and cute decor place. I went for lunch with co-workers. It took the server/staff a minute to acknowledge us. We actually sat down on our own. It also took a minute for the server to get us menus. It appeared that they only had one server. It's a small place. I had the chicken parmesan. It was kind of bland. Cute place, but the service and food were subpar.

Honestly, I've tried Blake's food before when it was Tasty Treat and even then it was flavorless. The new spot is just as worst . I ordered the Blackened Pasta , and even asked if they could make it spicy!! Upon receiving the food , It looked like I served a kids plate for $26 , I kid you NOT! The food is just BLAND. A drink with the pasta was $52 , but it definitely WASN'T WORTH IT. Aside from that , the ambiance is great. The Bartender service was great .

That's clearly communicated when you're greeted, so naturally it sets the expectation for shareable portions. We started with the ricotta and meatballs. Overall, portions felt on the smaller side, but the ricotta, especially at $18, was honestly a bit shocking in size. When we asked about it, a server jokingly said "inflation." I get it, but still. The two guys I dined with come here often and were actually the ones pointing out that portions have seemed to shrink. For mains, we each ordered a pasta. One was a server recommended agnolotti with crab, corn, and roe. It was decent, but the broth felt a bit too loose and could've used more depth and richness. That said, the crab portion was generous, the pesto was great, and the red sauce pasta was solid. We also ordered two pizzas, hands down the highlight of the meal. Easily the best thing we had. One small but off putting detail, the red pepper flakes were served in an open jar rather than a shaker. It made me question how many hands had been in it, especially since it appeared to have been reused from another table. Not the most sanitary presentation. Dessert was a strong finish. Panna cotta, tiramisu, and olive oil cake were all fresh and delicious. Drinks included a cocktail for me and beers plus an espresso martini for the table, all fine. Service wise, things started okay but felt rushed toward the end. We even mentioned we were still picking at food and what seemed to be a manager still cleared plates from the table. The tables themselves are also very small, which doesn't help when you're doing family style dining. Our server appeared to be training someone but never introduced them, which made things feel a bit awkward. Also, when resetting silverware, it felt rushed and a little careless, almost tossed onto the table rather than placed. Overall, the experience was good but not great. The food had its highlights, but portion sizes versus price and some service missteps held it back. 6/10, and honestly it reminded me why I hadn't felt the urge to come back before.

From there, we were easily convinced to do dessert - chocolate cake, cheesecake, and limoncello cake! Again, you would not have heard one complaint for our table (except maybe being too full??)! I can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu. *chef's kiss*

Spare yourself the disappointment and pass on Mona Lisa…read more I'm a server in New Orleans and have been in the hospitality industry my whole life - so trust me when I say that this place is a joke. I eat just about anything. I don't shy away from Taco Bell, or even gas station food but I also frequent high end restaurants. I'd rather eat McDonald's over Mona Lisa. The only decent aspect of my meal was the decor in the restaurant. Even the server was short and cold. The food at Mona Lisa is all low quality frozen stuff that they buy from restaurant depot. It was all bland and boring. I would say that at-best the food is mediocre but edible. It feels to me like an elevated Cici's pizza in there. Being in a city that's known for having amazing food and great restaurants - do yourself a favor and pick literally any other restaurant over this place. There's no shortage of amazing Italian restaurants - Irene's, Paladar 511, Pulcinella!, and Giana are just a few other options. I would be embarrassed if I was the owner of this establishment.

We started with soup of course. Perfect on a cold day. And tasty. She had tagliatelle with funghi. I had spaghetti with aglio e olio. We were both delighted with our choices. Service was great. The space is beautiful. Gianni is owned by the same group that owns Pêche and Herbsaint, two of our favorite NOLA restaurants.

Never once had to ask for re-fills or anything else. By the time I noticed my drink was empty, they were placing another one on the table. Marinated Beets - 9.1 Ciabatta Bread - 7.5 Kale & Brussels Salad - 8.2 Spaghetti (Olive Oil Based) - 6 Short Rib Bolognese - 9.8 Drum - 9.2 Butterscotch Budino - 8.8 The marinated beets paired with burrata, almonds and fresh citrus was excellent. It nearly made a perfect bite of food. The different textures and flavor profiles complimented each other greatly. The bread was okay, I have had many complimentary breads that were better. Kale & Brussel salad was very tasty. It was paired with a lemon/anchovy vinaigrette and thin sliced red onions. I believe the greens could have handled a thicker dressing and could have also used a sweet note, such as pomegranate. Spaghetti - It wasn't traditionally which is something we knew and wanted to pair with the drum. It was okay. I have had pasta with simple ingredients that were fantastic but this didn't hit that mark. It's the only thing I wish we wouldn't have ordered. Bolognese - Incredible!!! My Wife loves Bolognese so it is a dish we typically try when we go on vacation and restaurants known for their bolognese. This bolognese was compromised of short rib and pancetta. The beef flavor hit you over the head in the best way possible. Top 5 bolognese we have ever had for sure. Drum - Can't recall whether it was baked, seared or both. However, the crust was amazing and held up although it was served in a very delicious broth. It was paired with capers and fennel. Butterscotch Budino Dessert - I hate I didn't get a photo. My Wife doesn't like butterscotch however, we took a chance on this after the waiter strongly suggested it. It didn't disappoint. It was described as a pudding like dessert however, it was thicker. The consistency and mouth feel were a lot better than pudding. Service - 10/10 Food - 7.8/10 I would give this place on yelp 4.5 stars however, you can rate with whole stars.
