Blaine's sells high quality sewing machines such as Bernina, Janome, Elna, Baby Lock, and Brother. You will only find high quality machines here, which is something I appreciate about this wonderful family owned store. In addition to sales, they also service machines, and this is where I trust them completely. I brought my Bernina Record 930 machine that was made in 1984 in for repair and the amazing repair people at Blaine's were able to fix my machine so that all of the specialty stitches work (they had been broken for years) and the machine purrs like it's new. These repair people have earned my highest praise, and I feel likt the price that I was charged for the repair was more than fair! Blaine's also earns extra points for being a Project Linus drop off center. I love that they are supportive of this non-profit that gives blankets to hospitalized children and children in trauma. Blaine's is bright, clean, and well organized. So glad that family owned businesses like this still exist! read more

A++++ Incredibly informative, competitive pricing and a massive inventory which you can test hands on. All the staff were very nice and helpful however the owner was pretty rude. I called to have machines traded in and on the phone she gave me one price but when I came in she barely glanced at me and my machines then said she wasn't interested then proceeded to lowball me. I was in the area for a race and my mom asked I stop here on my way to a race (big surprise). Blaine's was participating in a "line by line" challenge where participants collect quilt row patterns throughout the united states. You obtain and complete as many rows as you want and each participating store has a different pattern to collect. I consider myself crafty but not in the realm of sewing or quilting but if I were I would definately find myself in a store like Blaine's more often than not. One of the last remaining independent retailers and repairers of sewing machings these women know there stuff. Who?e waiting to be helped and as I browsed I saw a variety of services from customers purchasing and picking up machines to those getting tutorials it was a bustling place. Sewing machines can be extremely complex machines today (and expensive to boot) so its great to have a place where you can find out how to get the most out of your investment In addition they carry a pretty good (although as large as JoAnn's) selection of patterns,fabric blocks and accessories for sewing,quilting and needlepoint crafts. read more

Very knowledgeable and listened to my sewing style. Representative was helpful in weighing product options of the machines I was interested in. I will be back and recommend Blaine's Sewing center. If you want a reliable, well made sewing, embroidery or serger go talk to them. I will make time to visit them with my next sewing tools or accessories. This place is awesome, I decided to take a short road trip to Blaine's from Cape Cod to shop for a new sewing machine. Dealers are few and far between these days and I wanted to view all my options and actually use the machine before committing. They have tons and tons of machines all brands and types new and used ,priced low to super expensive. Customer service was excellent, Heather assisted me and she knows her stuff and was able to guide me to the machine with the features I wanted with NO pressure to buy. I did end up leaving with the machine of my dreams-plus they give you a class on basics and offer assistance whenever you need it and a free one year service. I was so happy with my visit to Blaine's tonight that I'm 'making' the time to share my experience... I appeared, unannounced, with my old Kenmore, which was giving me bottom thread troubles. They were so kind...set up the machine, found the problem, walked me through a few things (I'm a novice, even though I've had my machine for years) and took care of me as if I were buying a whole new machine. Which, by the way, was very tempting. And their quilting fabrics are beautiful! read more

My old Singer machine wasn't working right, and after calling some local quilt shops, I was recommended to bring my sewing machine to Blaine. I was very pleased with the service. They were pleasant to work with, true to their word. I was told there was a three week backlog; and in just over three weeks they contacted me. It took them a while to track down the problem, informed me it was something they could repair, and quoted me a price. It was fixed for under the price they quoted, and in less than the two weeks he said it would take. It did require an extra adjustment after I picked it up (the needle was off center), but the machine works better than it has in years. I will definitely be a return customer. read more

Was very impressed with the service I received when I went to Blaine. I expected to get an "attitude" when I said I would not be in the market for the item I was looking at for about 6 months or so. They had no problem quoting me a price, showing me the in's and out sof the item, and running some samples for me. Everyone was helpful and friendly. When I'm ready, I will surely return. I own a Kenmore sewing machine that is probably about 20+ years old and the bobbin winder stopped working. Also, I am just an occasional sewer so I never had it serviced. The part is no longer available from Kenmore, but Blaine's was able to fix it and also serviced the machine (cleaned it, etc). They initially said it would take three weeks and that is exactly what it took. They also called me with the estimate, as I had requested. It was a pleasure dealing with them! read more
