Came here on a Tuesday morning.The shop is well labelled and easy to spot on the corner of Prince and Fairview. The shop is clean and the walls are filled with axes, knives, and swords. I was greeted by the owner as soon as I walked in. I had an axe to grind, litterally not figuratively and he said it would be $10 done in 10 minutes. I was shocked at the fast service and took a seat after looking around at all the blades for sale. No sooner did I sit down when I was told my axe was ready. Wish I had come here sooner. There was an immediate improvement in my throwing. This is a pretty cool place for any blade you need sharpened, will definitely be back! read more

Good selection of knives, new & used & collectors pieces. The owner had a very good knowledge of the knives, too. I was looking for something specific, Boy Scout knife from the 1920's, and he had the knife I wanted and the price was reasonable. It happened to be super convenient as I had seen a recommendation for the place, not knowing where it was located. We stopped for breakfast and when we came out we saw it as we were leaving. My husband and I recently went to this shop when we were in Tucson 2 weeks ago. I was greeted by the owner, Eric. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. There was a wide variety knives including kitchen, hatchets, katanas, switchblades, etc. The prices were extremely fair and of good value. The store was clean and well lit. Everything was labeled and the displays were grouped by types. This is your one stop knife shop. They have everything you could want plus more. If they don't have it, they will get it for you. This place is an example of why supporting locally owned shops is so important. I went in on a Saturday at 10am to get some kitchen knives sharpened. It was a one-man operation, but the job was done in about 15 minutes. While I waited, the owner's awesome dog, Tikaani, kept me company. Tikaani has just joined the team after being rescued at a shelter two weeks to the day before my visit. The knives now have the best edge they've ever had, and all for $3.50 a blade. The quality, price, and awesome dog make me want to come back more often. read more

Why buy online? I did a couple times before visiting this shop i admit. This one man operation has the knives just as cheap and you can hold and flip the knives in your hand before you make a decision. Its very helpful to talk to somebody that shows you comparable knives before you dive in. The guy is a knife junkie and obviously loves his job. He also helps out Law Enforcement and Military. I had these guy's sharpen a whole bunch of animal processing knives for the farm I work at & they did an excellent job. Saved us so much time on the grinding stone & honestly for $4 it's a no brainer if you can't afford diamond stones or a sharpening kit for different grinds. We were able to process the chickens, so easily, and didn't have to take a stone to anything to re-sharpen. I also buy my personal knives here. I like to support good local business like this. There is something to be said, about being able to walk in here, and get real advice about real knives. Knives are tools. I actually use my knives on a daily basis. I don't want a tool that won't work, or that's more for aesthetics, than form and function. These guys got Woodman's Pal's, Condor, and Cold Steel machetes on the shelves. You can walk in today & walk out with them. Fair prices too. I buy all my Morakaniv knives here, because their the same price that I would pay online, but I'm supproting a family run business in my community, by spending my money here. They carry Schrade, the good models, and Spyderco. If your in the market for a working knife or something for your collection (I'm guilty of it too), definitely check these guys out. This place is the real deal. The plague of knife shops is the inventory of cheaply-made junk ran by a guy that is more Rambo than expert... This is not that place. I noticed right away the collection of really good pieces that the untrained eye may not notice. There was a distinct lack of huge, bowie, serrated pieces of garbage that take up valuable counterspace. There were a number of collector pieces, but more than that, PRACTICAL pieces that I would actually use on a daily basis. I am an avid outdoorsman and a member of the military. I actually use my knives. They are tools and I treat them as such. I can honestly say that most of the stuff in this place I would carry without hesitation. Add to that, this guy really knows his stuff. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. His dog is also very friendly and enjoys a pet or two! Head on down to this place and give this man your business. This dude is awesome. I don't know where we gets inventory from because 99% of his knives are same price as amazon and eBay. He is extremely knowledgeable and can tell you pros and cons of different steel depending on what your using it for cooking, utility, tactical, swords, etc. Has sharpened all our home kitchen knives as well as prep knives and they have been better and sharper then when they were new. My Benchmade was stolen! I visited Blade Runner a few hours later for a replacement, and got a nicer version of the same model for less cash than the original. Eric, the new owner, struck me as a very friendly and knowledgeable person. Good knife stores are rare after the growth of the internet, but I'd rather pay the sales tax and get the superior service and satisfaction of helping a great guy make a living at what he loves. I looked online. I could have saved $4, and I would have had to wait by the mailbox for a week, hoping nobody steals the next one before I get to it, sacrificing my soul in the process. I feel that people who try out a product in a brick and mortar store, then order online to save a few dollars deserve to die alone and unloved. I'm not a collector, I don't buy a lot of knives. I had never purchased a pocket knife for myself (with my previous EDC knife having been a hand-me-down), and even though I had done my homework I was a little intimidated about the prospect of actually going to a knife store. I was instantly put at ease by the friendly and knowledgeable salespeople, who could probably sense I was a bit out of my element and helped guide me towards a pocketknife that would fit my needs and my budget. Their selection is very impressive and the staff is top notch. My only very tiny little quibble with this otherwise outstanding store is it smelled faintly of old cigarettes, kind of like a Las Vegas casino. This is possibly due to an old tenant or their next-door neighbor in the strip mall where they are located, but it was a tiny bit unpleasant. That said, this should be overlooked - Blade Runner Knives is top quality and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to purchase just about any kind of knife. read more

We have an awesome German kitchen knife that is used daily, and of course, after a few years went dull. I walked right in, was greeted immediately, and given a quote for sharpening. It was done on the spot and in 10 minutes! While I was waiting I browsed the great collection of knives for sale while petting a St. Bernard that is just chilling in the shop. Now the knife is back to cutting everything and I will be using this place for all of my cutting needs. Oh, and the guy has a grandpa that was in the Navy - respect. read more
