SPECTACULAR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I drove 90 min to come check out this awesome custom build dealership and it did not disappoint! Since I don't live in the area I didn't reach Blackstar until 45 minutes before they closed. Most places try to close up around this time and shoo customers away but Hunter greeted us with open arms. He was kind, patient and very knowledgeable. He allowed us to take our time, answered all of our questions and wasn't pushy at all! I would highly recommend this family owned business, they are very honest and welcoming.

I bought my 2020 Jeep Wrangler (stock) MDW 2020 and by mid-June, the boys over at Blackstar Offroad had my sweet girl tricked out and outfitted for some serious dirt & sand adventures. My hubby researched and spoke with the owner, Tim, about ideas for upgrades and working in a budget. Tim and team made my Malibu Barbie dreams come true!! 35" tires and Black Rhino wheels, 2.5 lift with the side rail I wanted and Ho-Damn, she I got even "purdier" than she was before! Thank you so much for the work on my Jeep. The craftsmanship and professionalism can't be matched.

My parents recently sold me their 2004 Jeep Wrangler. They kept it mostly stock, only adding modifications for RVing. I knew the first thing I wanted to do was make it look like a Jeep. I hit the forums and found that I could add 31' inch tires without a lift. Then I searched local areas that performed mods. Blackstar Offroad's name stuck out to me as I had driven past it before. Their gorgeous Jeeps in front of their business had drawn in my attention. I read a bunch of reviews, along with the responses from the owner and decided I would go in to ask questions. However, I failed to read that they only work on JK and JL Wranglers. I went in and was enamoured with all the amazing Jeeps they had for sale. I was greeted by an employee who informed me that they no longer work on TJ's. As I was getting ready to walk out, Tim walked out of an office and asked me what type of mods I needed. I explained that I only wants bigger tires with wheels. He quickly said they could do it. He followed me out to my Jeep and we shared stories. He told me he just bought one for his daughter and was fixing it up for her. He gave me a ton of advice and listened to what I wanted. He gave a recommendation to do a small lift due to potential rubbing and being unleveled. He obviously knows more than me so I agreed and was excited for the project. He emailed me the same day with links to different options. By the following day, we were a go and the parts were on order. Less than a week later, he email me that the parts were in and that they had availability. My Jeep came out exactly how I wanted it to. Tim's expertize along with his kindness made this experience so easy and positive! Unfortunately, Tim was not there when I picked it up. However, I had the pleasure of meeting Hunter, who was also very nice. Anyway, my point is - bring you Jeep here. Or buy a Jeep here! They will treat you well. Thank you so much Tim!

Now this is how you supposed to run a dealership. HONEST, HELPFUL , KNOWLEDGEABLE and do everything they can to make sure you leave knowing you came to the right place. Mike helped us out get into this amazing custom Jeep wrangler with no hassles. He made the whole process smooth and transparent. Their inventory is amazing to say the least and I guarantee you if you are looking for a Wrangler or Gladiator there is no better place out there.

Great service and assistance from Hunter. He let me customize my Gladiator to what I wanted. Extended shipment and delivery window for the Rockslide Engineering steps but Hunter kept me updated regularly...even when I bugged him when he was off. Then they had my Jeep shipped to me in North County San Diego so I wouldn't have to go back to Anaheim. Thank you Hunter and Blackstar Offroad! The work done looks great!

Blackstar Offroad had the only few I could find. Reached out and Hunter gave me a call back. I wish I had never purchased my Jeep from Blackstar Offroad. Within just one year of ownership, I was hit with thousands of dollars in repairs that no buyer should reasonably expect so soon after purchasing a vehicle. Since buying the Jeep, I've had to replace the left and right cylinder head gasket, thermostat, water pump, water pump gasket, oil cooler assembly, spark plugs, and battery clamps. The vehicle developed persistent engine stalling issues, misfires, coolant loss, white exhaust smoke, and transmission-related problems. I was later informed of transmission fault code P0732, indicating potential transmission failure, and have also had to investigate replacing the crankshaft position sensor in an attempt to keep the vehicle running properly. I understand that used vehicles can require maintenance, but the extent and severity of these repairs after only one year have been extremely disappointing. I trusted Blackstar Offroad to sell a reliable vehicle, and instead I've spent a significant amount of time, stress, and money (thousands) dealing with major mechanical failures. I'm not writing this review out of spite. I'm sharing my experience in hopes that future customers can make a more informed decision than I did. Please do your homework, have any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing, and make sure you're prepared for the possibility of unexpected repair costs. Based on my experience, I would not purchase another vehicle from Blackstar Offroad. I was truly excited and worked hard to make the purchase but the financial stress and emotional burden of not having my vehicle while it was going through multiple shops to confirm and execute the repairs was definitely not worth it - I definitely learned my lesson not bringing a mechanic with me to inspect the vehicle before the purchase. 'Please inspect people, don't trust these dealers they won't tell you everything'. read more

FANTASTIC PLACE TO DEAL WITH!! I contacted Mike about a Jeep Wrangler they had and he was more than helpful throughout the entire deal. Changed the wheels without charging me and changed out the top for what it costed them. Who does this?? Made the purchase process extremely easy and no hassles. Mike was great to deal with! When I arrived to take delivery the staff there was friendly and courteous and Mike had my paperwork ready to go. Was out the door in under 45 minutes. Too bad that I live in the SF Bay area or I'd be going to them for all of my modification needs but if I am ever in the market for another modified Jeep that has been done right I'll definitely go there. Got my 2024 4xE lifted by Blackstar Off-road on November of 2023 (I received my jeep early before 2024). I am super happy with the result. They have a lot of jeeps in stock so you can see exactly how yours will turn out if you get the work done by them or you can buy one from them as well. It's been a few months and jeeps been holding pretty well. I will go back once I need more work done or would go back with other jeeps if I need to. read more

I purchased my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport back in August 2017 (not from here) and this is the first place I brought it to after reading reviews on Yelp. The owner is great at communicating, and responded to my inquiries/questions very promptly via Yelp. After much conversation, I was convinced to get the 2.5" Rubicon Express Lift, Pro Comp 7069 Rims, and Radar Renegade R7 Tires (35/12.5/R17). Everything was done in literally less than a week. What's even better is that since I didn't have room to take my OEM rims/tires home with me, he had one of the employees deliver them to me.. how convenient! Their prices are pretty competitive and their quality of service is excellent, and I would definitely stick to this place as my primary Jeep mechanic. Other than service/installation/repairs, they also sell already modified jeeps. All of them built with quality parts, no shortcuts taken. read more

I can not speak highly enough of the team at Blackstar! I called this past Tuesday and spoke to Tim about working on my wife's new wrangler. I was able to send her into their shop Wednesday to look at the builds they have done, they helped her in and out of tons of Jeep's so she could feel comfortable about all the choices she was making on her build, after they walked her all around the shop she picked her lift kit, shocks, wheels, tires and side steps. I was able to bring her Jeep in there Thursday and we got it back Friday! That level of customer service and efficiency has made me a customer for life! I am so blown away especially during these covid times they were so beyond accommodating and the price was great! These guys create some of the best Jeeps I've ever seen. I worked with George on purchasing a lifted Wrangler unlimited. The price and service was fantastic. I will be coming back to them for a couple other modifications but all in all great shop. Car buying process was fast and easy. Service guys take real pride in their work and it shows. I wanted to post a review especially about Blackstar Off-road , I have been looking for the right place to purchase a jeep for a long time and also have it built out with my vision. I literally had just had it with the dealerships , not only for the ridiculous mark ups but the customer service has become less then zero stars. Even if they had the exact one I wanted , because how I felt there and the lack of truly giving a shit, excuse my language. But I won't purchase from them. I remember when your salesman when buying a car ended up becoming a friend because it's a relationship you build , not a one off very expensive purchase and feeling like instead of the customer your an annoyance to them having to get there ass off there chairs and maybe show you something . But I always regroup and pray about it and low and hold Blackstar appeared . I called and the nicest guy answered named Hunter. Within the first few minutes, I felt cared about as a potential customer but also not pressured at all. I didn't really know what to expect just seeing the outside of the shop . It takes a lot to impress me or shock me, but when Hunter walked me in and I looked to my left was the most Beautiful, Bad Ass selection of Jeeps I had ever seen. It was the Barrett Jackson of Jeeps. Guys your shop is Amazing, but more importantly Hunter was the best part. He was so knowledgeable and helpful and even helped me decide which model was best for me. So I want to thank you for taking the time Hunter and Blackstar, I Sure hope you realize you have an employee that does your shop justice and I left with a plan and hopefully will be able to drive away with it soon. Nice guys but the work execution was sloppy and not up to par. Was hoping to support a local business over 4WheelParts but it ended up being substantially more effort. Rubicon Express lift shocks were installed in an extremely visually displeasing way. Functionally fine, aesthetically far from it. Also when getting my vehicle aligned after a part install, the number sheet was way off and the breather hose wasn't even re-connected. I went to another local shop and got everything fixed instead of coming back because I had a long drive the next day and the vehicle was far from fine. Like I said, nice team but the attention to detail on my vehicle was really missing. They will of course offer to fix the issues but how many times do I need to leave my vehicle in your lot for 24 hours? Not to mention picking it up to find more problems? Photos included. read more

Just bought my first ever jeep frm blackstar offroad and oh man what a ggreat place. They have every jeep you could want ready built, mild build or some stock for the enthusiast who likes to project build. Hunter was a Great sales rep and took care of us start to finish. We left in the jeep of our drreams. We were issued a valet key and not and actual key but they took care of that too!!! Tim who i think is the owner jumped in and took care of my key problem for me right away. So after a few days of searching and reading every yelp review I could find, I finally decided on taking my Jeep Blackstar to install a lift on my Jeep. Tim and Joe we're extremely knowledgeable and patient. I'm a newbie when it comes to Jeeps and not once did I feel like I was being talked down to. The photos show the lazy job I had received. I take full…read moreaccountability for not replying when I first said I would. However, I followed up a couple weeks later asking if a certain date worked. I even explained that I had been busy and said the only time I'd have to bring in the car would be the following week. I paid $450 for this wrap and an extra $100 for the wrap itself. When the first job was done poorly, I went back to the shop to address the issues and they said they would fix it. I texted on a Tuesday expecting a response, and I waited until Sunday to follow up again. Instead of Lisa taking accountability, she told me I "did not reach out," which is extremely unprofessional and untrue. I had apologized for being busy, and I did reach out; she just did not respond. When I reminded her the job was poorly done and how there had been no response, she took zero accountability and tried to use my words against me. Lisa ignored my response when I explained how the situation should have been handled and how she failed to reply in a professional manner. As the customer, I should not have to teach someone how to treat me correctly or how to run a shop professionally. I wasn't trying to start problems; I stated the truth about the situation, but she did not like that. I went back because I had already paid and just wanted the work corrected. I dropped my car off again on Monday around 11:30am. The shop texted me claiming the wrap "wouldn't adhere," which I knew was an excuse. I told them to proceed because the material was fine, and if they couldn't install it, that was their shop's error. The rest of my car's wrap was perfectly fine. To double-check, I contacted the previous shop, who confirmed this shop was making excuses, saying, "The wrap sticks just fine. It sticks on the rest of your car fine. They're talking nonsense." I knew they no longer wanted to service me, and I no longer wanted their service either. I paid a good amount of money for this treatment. I made sure the job would get done. The shop told me the job would be done by Wednesday late afternoon. This was the second time they confirmed a deadline and failed to meet it. I made it clear from the start that I have a busy schedule and cannot afford delays, yet they did not respect that. Removing and rewrapping a front bumper is a 1-2 day job, it is not like I was asking to wrap half the car. I set a boundary that if it was not ready by 5pm Wednesday, as they confirmed, I would request a refund. My whole car was wrapped, had parts added, brakes caliper color change, and badges blacked out in about a week. I took it to another shop before taking it here. (Dependable Guys in Santa Ana) I am not a professional, but I am not stupid. There were no photo updates either, I had to ask for them. When they finally sent a picture, the wrap looked freshly slapped on two days after I dropped the car off. The day I dropped it off, they said the wrap did not adhere. It looked like my car sat there for two days until I asked for the photo, or it took them two days to remove a month old wrap and throw on one big piece lol.. My car is a small sedan, a CLA, not a supercar or SUV. Her words were: "Ok we will remove all the wrap and give you your money back. Come and pick it up today." She added, "You are demanding the refund so come get it. We cannot accommodate the time frame for you. Thank you we will be gone by 5 so please make it in time so we can process the refund." However, Mark (the installer) had reached out to me and told me him and his co worker would come into work early to finish the job. This was the second time they broke their own deadline, and instead of taking accountability, she tried to flip it back on me. Lisa took everything personally when this situation should have been handled with professionalism. I never asked them to remove my wrap; I just wanted the job done properly. The installer Mark was professional, but Lisa was disrespectful, dismissive, and extremely immature in how she handled the situation. I told them to leave the wrap and keep the money. This was their mistake, which took up the free time I rarely have. Even after I explained my situation, reminded them of prior mistakes, and was patient with the delays, they still couldn't get the job done on time. I didn't want or need the money back; I needed my car back lol. It was clear they didn't take me seriously, and I was forced to escalate this further, which she didn't like either. This was waste of time and caused unnecessary stress. I was frustrated because I had to deal with unprofessional and immature behavior. All I got were excuses, missed deadlines, and poor communication. This business does not stand on its word or its service. Don't bring your car here. Many shops in OC offer far better service and professionalism. I recommend Dependable Guys in Santa Ana! It turns out the wrap sticks just fine and clearly they were making excuses... 3 weeks no issues.

The shop where I had the work done at rechecked everything and said there was no leak on the exhaust system. I came here for a second opinion. I called and explained the issue, and the person on the phone said to come by anytime and he'd take a look. I live very close and went right over. I met Jake who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was well aware of the common exhaust issues on this model of car. He inspected the exhaust system, and also used a listening device under the hood. He concurred that there was no leak in the exhaust system. He said the problem could possibly be a blocked catalytic converter, but that the car would probably be running a lot rougher. While we were chatting with the car still running and the hood open, we saw some smoke coming out. He said whatever was causing that was probably the issue. They are a muffler and exhaust shop, not a full mechanic shop, so I didn't expect him to investigate any further. (I later discovered that the engine side of the PCV value hose was cracked and that's where the leak was coming from). I was only here briefly, but had a very good experience. I would definitely return if I needed any exhaust work done.

After searching through his suppliers, he finally found that magna flow was the only company that still makes them for that truck. He ordered it up and installed it. I thought the truck was just getting old and losing power, but with this new catalytic converter, all the power is back and the rough idle that it had disappeared. I have been doing business with muffler man for over 30 years now and have always been extremely pleased with their work.

He said they were great trustworthy guys who have been in business forever, and were well suited for this repair. I thanked him and headed right over. They are located on the southeast corner of Anaheim Blvd and E North Street. The parking lot in front is small and was mostly occupied, but there were a few spots available when I arrived at their 8am opening time. I walked in and spoke to Junior at the front desk. I explained the situation and he said they would take a look at it right away. They pulled the car into the shop, and I could see the technician looking under the hood and under the chassis. Then I heard Junior on the phone getting parts prices from their supplier. In only about ten minutes after taking my keys, he confirmed my suspicion that the exhaust manifold was cracked. He gave me a quote to replace it which seemed very reasonable. He also mentioned they would have to check to see if the catalytic converter was plugged up because any back-pressure from that could cause the same problem again. If that was the case and it needed replacing, it would cost a lot more. I crossed my fingers and told them to go ahead and start working on it. Junior called me later that afternoon, and told me they were close to finishing the job and that we could head over. He said the catalytic converter had some cracks on it, but that it should probably be fine. When we arrived at the shop, he actually showed us the broken exhaust manifold that was replaced. He also showed us some pictures they took of the cracks in the catalytic converter. It is pretty rare for any shop to actually show you the broken parts that were replaced. I'm sure a lot of less reputable shops would have blindly told me the catalytic converter had cracks and needed to be replaced. I really appreciate their honesty and concern for potentially spiraling repair costs. Junior was very friendly and personable. They inspected the car immediately upon arrival, and gave an accurate estimate quickly. Communication was great, and thankfully no further repairs were needed beyond the original estimate. It is rare to go to an auto shop and they give you two estimates XX and XXXX and you only end up paying XX, and not getting pitched a bunch of other things they recommend. Five stars all the way for Anchor Muffler.

The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. I'll update this review once I get the car in for my first visit. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

At first we were excited about finding Blackstar off-road. George happened to be our neighbor and would often stop by and talk with my husband while he was working on his Jeep so when it was stolen George stopped by and offered condolences. My husband thought highly of George and the folks that worked and owned Blackstar. George stopped by soon after our Jeep was stolen and told my husband that they had a Jeep same size, year, engine size, etc that my husband had had. So my husband and I hurried down to see it. Hubby checked it out, and also did allot of looking to check out pricing and so forth. To make a long story short. We bought the Jeep. We ordered all the stuff hubby wanted put on the Jeep such as a lift kit, a wench, rims and tires. Blackstar gave us a pickup date 2 weeks out. Which was ok to us because hubby wanted special tires that we had to go order and then deliver to them. Well 2 weeks passed and they hadn't even started to work on the Jeep. In fact the lift kit hadn't even shipped yet which I thought was kinda strange if they had ordered it when they said they did. 4 weeks passed and hubby decided he'd had enough of the "good Ole boys" promises and chat and drive down there and told them if they didn't have the Jeep ready by Monday they could just give us our money back and we'd go some where else. He also told them that he no longer wanted to deal with George since he never returned phone calls and everything that did come out of his month was a lie. Woohoo we finally picked up our Jeep. Within the first couple of weeks it had to go back. They said they'd have the parts to fix it the next day and we could pick it up after work. We headed over there after work as agreed and low-and-behold the part didn't come in. 1 week later 300 dollars later because hubby was bitching at them because he had work he needed to do on the Jeep they said let us help while we are waiting on the gear we will install your lights, the switch wiring and your switches. So we decide ok. So hubby took all the stuff down there, told their "mechanic " where and how he wanted to look and where to but the switches etc. So we go to get it 3 days later and this other mechanic comes over to hubby and says "hey this switch you brought in don't work" hubby looks and says that's because you've installed the wrong ones. The guys looks dumbfounded and hubby started throwing a fit. The lead mechanic comes overs and hubby starts letting him have it and the guy looks over what the other guy did and says that's not what I told him to do. Really! At least 3 more days pass. We bring the Jeep home. Hubby starts doing some work on it and find that EVERYTHING THEY DID was going to need to be redone. Well as you may have come to the conclusion we DO NOT RECOMMEND Blackstar for ANYTHING. In fact run do not walk away from these FRAUDS. They do not know ANYTHING about off-roading or building a off road vehicle. read more

If you are looking to purchase, equip or service a jeep, look no further than Blackstar Offroad. Unlike other places where you aren't sure if you are getting the truth or whole story, you are in for a pleasant experience with these guys. For several years, I had been looking around to purchase a Jeep Wrangler. Lots of let downs and as I was not in a hurry, I was being picky and didn't want to settle. After doing some research on Blackstar and read of their positive customer service, I drove 3 hours from San Diego to check them out with a Jeep enthusiast buddy of mine as backup. This place blew us both away. Awesome inventory (check their website) but most importantly- honest, friendly staff who went way beyond my expectations. My buddy the Jeep expert also was surprised about the prices as they were very reasonable. In addition, Blackstar was willing to switch tire, wheel, bumper and other options to build a Jeep to the one I had always been searching for. If they don't have what your looking for they will be upfront and tell you so and not push. So if you are tired of Craigslist or Auto Trader searches and are looking for a cool Wrangler and want to deal with folks who will treat you right, check them out. I bought my Wrangler today at Blackstar Offroad and what a great experience it was. I've driven past them for a year thinking they only repair Wranglers, then I found them on Carguru and it peaked my interest. I stopped by a week ago and talked to Tim, one of the owners and he filled me in on wranglers, sports, X, unlimited and rubicons. After that we talked motors and transmissions then out to the lot. He said they are all unlocked and have at it. If I find something that I want but it's missing something else they would be wiling to deal on it. I left with 5 on my list. I came back on Saturday with my wife so she could see them and try to get in them (they have stock jeeps to one with a 6 inch lift with 35" tires). We climbed in them and narrowed down the list. We test drove a red one 2005 with 38,000 mile, a 3" lift, 33" tires and a winch (I told you they had all kinds) and knew thats the one. we left to discuss it and decided to return on Monday. We were happy with the price and the way we were treated. They wanted us to buy a wrangler we wanted, not one they needed to get rid of. Why look all over creation when this independent dealership has the most Jeeps you will find in one (Orange County) location except for possibly a new car store? I came from Riverside to make my purchase as they had (3) important things... Jeeps O plenty / Great prices / EZ financing. They are very helpful & know their inventory well! I was lucky enough to deal with the Manager (Jeff) as well as the owner (Tim) and found they both treated me the way I wanted to be treated, with understanding (I needed help with financing) & they did not judge me based on my credit as other Dealers I went to had. They have a well oiled sales business as well as a full on mechanic shop that I plan to use when & if I ever need their services. I see also that they sell / install lift kits & have tires of all sizes for that tough off road look! The husband bought his latest toy about three months ago from Blackstar Offroad. He can't give George and the gang enough praise - these guys are honest, sincere and listen to their customers. We found Blackstar on the Internet and were eyeballing a 2016 Jeep Wrangler with low miles for some time... finally went in to look at it and it wasn't at all what we wanted. Luckily, a stock 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport JK with 1900 miles had arrived the day before. We jumped all over it: Blackstar put on Micky Thompson Baja ATZ tires with Method305 NV Matte Wheels, gave it a stage three lift with a 3.5 inch coil lift kit, a Fox 2.0 Performance series suspension front and back, put on a Smitty Built step and added an Alpine 9-inch radio with Audio Video receiver. Totally tricked out! We love it and so do the dogs! Off roading, here we come! Once we got it home we had some minor sensor issues with the radio so we brought it in and the team switched it out - as good as new! All I can say is wow! This place is Incredible. If you have a Jeep or need one, you have to check this place out. They are located right next door to Heroes restaurant, one of my favorite hangouts. I needed some work done on my Wrangler and Jeff and George could not have been nicer. They answered all my questions and helped turn my mild Wrangler into a beast. They appear to only work on Jeeps, so this is definite the place to go if you have a Wrangler. I also saw a lifted Renegade and Cherokee so they may do more than just Wranglers. We just bought a 2004 Wrangler from Blackstar, and had a great experience. We put a deposit on it, and by the time we came back the next day to pick it up, they had changed the oil, and put all new brake shoes on it, free of charge. I was nervous, that the final dollar figure would include phoney charges, but no games on fees, and no 'dealer prep'. I drove up to Fullerton from San Diego today to check out several of the Jeeps (TJs) Blackstar has for sale. A gentleman named Warner assisted me and let me take two of the Jeeps for a test drive. Another gentleman named Jeff also assisted when I had questions about upgrades. Both of them were very courteous and helpful.
