Oh, so so so good! Some of the best in Utah. I've had Leatherby's, Handel's, Brooker's and this beats them all. Such creamy ice cream, you can see the difference in its texture and flavor. I had the Caramel Cashew and the Honeybud. Both were outstanding. Honeybud is a lavender ice cream with pockets or swirls of honey with some bits of honey comb. Wow, so good! The lavender is not overwhelming and the honey perfectly balances the flavor with the slightly crunchy bits of honey comb adding to the texture. Wonderful. I went at 8:00 on a Friday night and they were slammed with no end in sight. Two lines takes care of everyone pretty efficiently, though. Whole families with kids, senior couples, those just picking up prepacks...a wide variety of ice cream lovers in line at the only business in old downtown Bountiful that's open. Run, do not walk. Get at least two flavors. Enjoy. Go to ice cream heaven. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Took my 4 kids with me this time and it was nice and easy! There is a sign that says only 2 taste tests per person but they were very patient with my kids and let them try a few before they decided on their flavors. I love the complimentary cone slice in the icecream. I like to crumble mine into the icecream. I got s'mores today based off of a recommendation and it was absolutely amazing. Tasted like a true campfire smore! Had an amazing Smokey taste.

Blacksmith Ice Cream is one of those places that makes you understand why people are willing to line up out the door. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the smell of freshly made waffle cones, and the whole space has that charming, small-batch feel. It's a cute, welcoming shop where you can actually see the creativity and care that goes into every flavor. The ice cream itself is incredible: creamy, fresh, and full of unique twists. I tried the banana Nutella, which was rich and perfectly balanced, and the cookie butter chip, which came loaded with extra chocolate chips for the perfect crunch. I also had to grab a scoop of their mint chocolate chip, and it was clear why it's such a favorite (refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet). Each creation feels thoughtfully crafted rather than just mixed together, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Between the smell of the cones, the variety of flavors, and the attention to detail in the mix-ins and texture, it's easy to see why Blacksmith has the hype it does. Yes, there's a line, but once you're holding a cone of their fresh, small-batch ice cream, you realize it's absolutely worth it.

Love ice cream places that offer flights so you can try several different flavors! Berry cheesecake and lavender honeybud were soooo good, I also enjoyed their hot honey seasonal flavor. They always come out with fun creative flavors that rotate!

So yummy! Fresh ice cream and fun seasonal flavors. I love the addition of the pumpkin cookie butter flavor for fall! Wish they would bring back banana Nutella. It actually tasted like legit banana...not fake laffy taffy banana lol. Their customer service has gotten so much better, thank you! I love coming here and I look forward to their new flavors every season/holiday. The added dairy free flavors are just as delicious too. I will happily eat my weight in the strawberry basil diary free ice cream. Clean and inviting environment..it always smells so delicious when you walk in. For the quality I think the pricing is fair. It's so fresh and delicious and they use actual, real ingredients. You get what you pay for which is quality. The whole family loves it here!

Walking into Blacksmith you are hit with the smell of sugary local ice cream goodness. The smell of waffle cones fresh off the press. You know it's going to be great. At the risk of the lines getting longer... I will die on this hill that this is the best ice cream in Utah. The raspberry is INCREDIBLE! I have never had a flavor that disappoints. I recently tried the Mango sticky rice which was such a new inventive flavor. The staff is always patient and a delight.

All dressed up on a Friday night, we joined the line going out the door for some local ice cream. It moved fast and everyone was in a good mood because... ice cream. Original and familiar flavors in a cute setting is hard to beat. The girls behind the counter were efficient and allowed us each two samples to make our decision. We went with chocolate brownie and mint chip. Both quite tasty. Good texture and full of flavor. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. I would have preferred another chocolate option, but I ate every bite. I'm not sure I would drive to Bountiful for it, Salt Lake and Provo have some tough competitors (and my personal favorite). But, I might stop by again on my way through town for a treat.

Fresh raspberry and passion fruit ice cream

We have friends in South Ogden who have raves about Blacksmith Ice Cream, so I decided to take a trip down to Bountiful to give it a try. The first time, I ordered the fresh raspberry and passion fruit flavors (recommended by the employee behind the counter) in a waffle cone, and the second time, I ordered the berry cheesecake and cashew caramel flavors (also recommended to me). Thank you to both employees who recommended me the flavors -- my indecisive Libra in me could not fathom deciding between all the flavors. The verdict: it's good ice cream and at a great price! It's not my favorite ice cream place I've tried in Utah, but it's certainly a good one. I docked a star from them for not offering sorbet flavors which my husband loves. The ice cream is creamy and sweet, and out of the four flavors I tried, I think the berry cheesecake is my favorite.

I heard this place was good and I had other plans in the area so it was finally time to give it a shot. I easily found parking on a weekday afternoon. I appreciated the list of common allergens and which flavors contain them. You get two samples so I tried the mango sticky rice (which had hard pieces of rice in it and mango that didn't taste ripe so definitely a no) and the milk and honey which was super good! I wanted a more vanilla-y one and a more chocolate-y one but there wasn't a chocolate flavor that was gluten-free, darn it. So, after making sure the banana was not artificially flavored, I went with that without tasting it because I had run out of tasting chances. Luckily, it was very good! That banana ice cream tasted homemade- nothing artificial there!

I moved out of the area around the time this charming ice cream shop moved in, so this is my first visit--but it won't be the last. The Dough n Cookies ice cream was good, but the burnt marshmallow flavor of Campfire S'mores was out of this world! The water dispenser and little wafer in the ice cream were nice touches, too. Pretty much, I liked everything about my experience. Even the location on historic Main Street makes it a great place to visit during a stroll!

Easily the best ice cream I've tasted ANYWHERE! and trust me I've had loads of ice cream. Blacksmith not only delivers in quality and taste but the service is also exceptional! The flavors change often so you're not stuck with the same flavors which makes repeat visits to Blacksmith special. I go here about once a week and even take my 1yr old daughter who gets excited when we walk in. She loves ice cream probably about as much as I do now because of Blacksmith! I can't say enough about this place you just NEED to come here and find out yourself how amazing they are! My favorite ice cream shop hands down.... read more

This place is seriously AMAZING. I see other people on here complaining that the price is steep, but it's only expensive if you get the rolled ice cream. And the rolled ice cream is easily enough for 2 people to share. What I love about this place is that the ice cream tastes so fresh and it's actually super cheap if you just get 1-3 scoops. Compare this ice cream to the price of Nielsen's Frozen Custard and it's pretty much dirt cheap. I strongly recommend this place. The ice cream is good, it's worth the price, and it's a fun atmosphere. read more

Really good Backcountry berry cheesecake ice cream. So yummy. I also tried the raspberry, vanilla, and cookies and cream ice cream. Everything was so delicious, except the raspberry. A lot of people like it, but I thought it was too tart. Overall super happy I stopped in there and tried the ice cream. Will be back when the craving hits. I got the small bowl, in which you can get up to 2 flavors. I'm so happy I was able to mix flavors because I did order the raspberry, then decided to add the cheesecake before they were done. Didn't eat the raspberry, but I devoured the berry cheesecake. There are no samples right now and they aren't doing rolled ice cream, but it was still worth it. read more

Very unprofessional place! We only came here because we were given a gift card. After we ordered and received our ice cream they told us the system was down so they couldn't take our gift card. The employee was super helpful and when I was split between the berry cheesecake and s'mores, she did a half n half cup for me. The kid portion was ample for our 6yr old. Building is on the west side of Main Street so it has evening shade and we really enjoyed our ice cream at their small sidewalk tables. Everyone enjoyed their flavors but the s'mores, my word. So delicious. Even the chocolate used was high quality. Even with rich creamy ice cream and quality ingredients, we still found it to be very reasonably priced. They also sell the flavors in packaged containers. read more

Amazing. Competes with my favorite ice cream place back home as the best I've ever had. Had the brownies and chocolate in a waffle cone. Delicious and reasonable prices. The other half had the fresh raspberry- not my thing but it was also excellent. The next time I was boring and went with the same thing. He tried the banana nutella. Also awesome. A friend told me about this "rolled" ice cream place. I'd been to a rolled ice cream shop in SLC and was pleased to learn we now had one in Bountiful. I walked in the door and the two employees who were present greeted me with bright, winning smiles -- friendly staff, always a good first impression. They educated me on how it works, either choosing premade ice cream (8 flavors, toppings if you like) or choosing rolled ice cream with mix-ins and toppings, with either a chocolate or vanilla base. I wanted vanilla with toasted coconut, almonds, and caramel. They said I couldn't have almonds on the roller, for allergy concerns, but I could have almonds sprinkled on top. I think that's a great thing, looking out for those with allergies, kudos. You get to watch them roll out your ice cream -- entertaining! I watched them pour 8 ounces of vanilla liquid onto the tray, add the toasted coconut and caramel, and start mixing, exposing the surfaces to the cold, cold, cold temps of the roller tray -- and a minute or so later, they spread it out thinly, rolled it up into strips, put the strips into a bowl, sprinkled the almonds on top, added extra caramel, and voila, my dessert was ready. SO YUMMY!! There are a bunch of rolled combinations I want to try, and the premade flavors looked great too -- can't wait to go back. read more

The best ice cream I've had, with the possible exception of some European gelatos. By far the best I've had in the U.S. I had the Berry cheesecake and fresh raspberry--especially loved the former. My husband had fresh peach which was also delicious. Great variety of several more flavors that I look forward to tasting in the future. read more

Visiting from the Pacific Northwest where small batch ice cream makers reign supreme, but this one topped them all. The texture isn't super creamy, more like a gelato to me, but it didn't matter. The fresh raspberry was from a local grower and was like having fresh raspberries with cream. Honestly some of the best ice cream I've ever had. read more

When I realized I didnt have bountiful I asked if I could get the bountiful location phone number. the girl who answered said she didnt have the number and didnt even offer to look it up. I asked if she could look it up and she wouldn't. Then I found the bountiful number, called it, I asked if I could place an order for take out, the guy who answered said "I'm not sure", then put me on hold, he got back on the phone and said :I can't take your order." So I thought f)((* it, I dont need to support a place w/horrible customer service. No other restaurant or fast food place would never not take my order. I will never darken Nelsons door and we ended up at burger king with the whopper which was fine with us. customer service to these people means very little.

I love the ice cream at Blacksmith, but I cannot believe what happened on Saturday night. We were turned away before closing time (20 minutes before they actually closed and there was still plenty of ice cream), but we were treated so poorly by a male employee there. The employee made a paying customer hold a sign saying "Last in Line", which made the customer the bad guy, turning people away. Meanwhile, this male employee sat at a table outside, scrolling on his phone. We asked the employee if we could go inside buy pints. He said we could buy whatever was in the freezer. The freezer was empty. When we came back outside, the employee looked at me and I said "There's no ice cream in the freezer". He literally looked at me and said "shucks". I left so angry. read more
