My husband and I stopped here for our date night and we each got a sampler flight. We thought our favorite ice cream was going to be the Cookie Butter Chip ice cream, but it ended up being the Pumpkin Cookie Butter and the Black Web. The Pumpkin Cookie butter was booming with flavor! I wish it wasn't a seasonal flavor because I'd order it every time. I think it would be even better if they'd add chocolate chips to it! The Black Web was a black licorice ice cream and it had little pieces of licorice in it. This is a must try for anyone who likes black licorice. I hope they bring this one back too! I also had the Salted Cookie Dough. It was good, but I was searching for the salt. I really wanted a little bit of that saltiness in my ice cream. The only flavor that we both didn't like (but we thought we'd love), was the Campfire S'mores ice cream. It tasted burnt with a propane flavor. When I saw them post a video on social media about them making the ice cream, I saw the problem. They burnt the marshmallows instead of lightly toasting them with a propane torch (and maybe that normally works well, but it didn't work for our batch of ice cream) :( Hopefully we'll be back for more pumpkin ice cream before fall is over....and if they still have black web, we'll grab that too!

This ice cream is the BEST! It has ruined us to go anywhere else. It tastes so fresh. Every flavor we tried was delicious. The line is always long but it moves quickly. All the workers are very friendly. Love this place so much!

Blacksmith Ice Cream is one of those places that makes you understand why people are willing to line up out the door. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the smell of freshly made waffle cones, and the whole space has that charming, small-batch feel. It's a cute, welcoming shop where you can actually see the creativity and care that goes into every flavor. The ice cream itself is incredible: creamy, fresh, and full of unique twists. I tried the banana Nutella, which was rich and perfectly balanced, and the cookie butter chip, which came loaded with extra chocolate chips for the perfect crunch. I also had to grab a scoop of their mint chocolate chip, and it was clear why it's such a favorite (refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet). Each creation feels thoughtfully crafted rather than just mixed together, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Between the smell of the cones, the variety of flavors, and the attention to detail in the mix-ins and texture, it's easy to see why Blacksmith has the hype it does. Yes, there's a line, but once you're holding a cone of their fresh, small-batch ice cream, you realize it's absolutely worth it.

Oh, so so so good! Some of the best in Utah. I've had Leatherby's, Handel's, Brooker's and this beats them all. Such creamy ice cream, you can see the difference in its texture and flavor. I had the Caramel Cashew and the Honeybud. Both were outstanding. Honeybud is a lavender ice cream with pockets or swirls of honey with some bits of honey comb. Wow, so good! The lavender is not overwhelming and the honey perfectly balances the flavor with the slightly crunchy bits of honey comb adding to the texture. Wonderful. I went at 8:00 on a Friday night and they were slammed with no end in sight. Two lines takes care of everyone pretty efficiently, though. Whole families with kids, senior couples, those just picking up prepacks...a wide variety of ice cream lovers in line at the only business in old downtown Bountiful that's open. Run, do not walk. Get at least two flavors. Enjoy. Go to ice cream heaven. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I just got out of a Yelp event and was craving for something sweet (as I always do after any savory food). My friend said Blacksmith Ice Cream is her favorite, but she's never been to the this location in Bountiful. I was so excited to try it! My excitement was 100% matched by my experience here! There was a line out the door, and I see why. I believe this is their original location, as they did originate from Bountiful, UT. They have a lot of unique flavors. After sampling a few, I went with Fresh Raspberries and Honeybud. I REALLY loved both flavors. Truly, the fresh raspberry flavor was immensely fresh, from the cream to the fruit. Honeybud has a lavender base flavored ice cream. Some people say it tastes too soap-like, but I did not have that issue. It tasted like a subtle flower with delicious honey on it. I truly enjoyed every bite. Next time, I'll be sure to get a bigger size. So delicious and so fresh. The vibe is soo cute too. Very farmhouse and welcoming.

Took my 4 kids with me this time and it was nice and easy! There is a sign that says only 2 taste tests per person but they were very patient with my kids and let them try a few before they decided on their flavors. I love the complimentary cone slice in the icecream. I like to crumble mine into the icecream. I got s'mores today based off of a recommendation and it was absolutely amazing. Tasted like a true campfire smore! Had an amazing Smokey taste.

Mother's Day dessert outing at Blacksmith!

Honeybud and peanut butter cup - separate scoops, not together - are our go to flavors. Tasty every time! Service was quick and friendly. Dining area was clean, but we sat at their bistro tables outside. We always come back.

One of the best ice cream shops I've been to. Soooooooo delicious!! We got the mango sticky rice, raspberry, banana Nutella, and lavender honey. ALL bangers. Everything was so creamy but nothing was too sweet! The employees were so nice and there were plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Overall an amazing spot. Will be back!

Hannah R.

This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I know the menu rotates but if you can get the HoneyBud it's a must try. Everything we had was good, but that was our favorite.

Michelle N.

Love ice cream places that offer flights so you can try several different flavors! Berry cheesecake and lavender honeybud were soooo good, I also enjoyed their hot honey seasonal flavor. They always come out with fun creative flavors that rotate!

Kenzie May T.

So yummy! Fresh ice cream and fun seasonal flavors. I love the addition of the pumpkin cookie butter flavor for fall! Wish they would bring back banana Nutella. It actually tasted like legit banana...not fake laffy taffy banana lol. Their customer service has gotten so much better, thank you! I love coming here and I look forward to their new flavors every season/holiday. The added dairy free flavors are just as delicious too. I will happily eat my weight in the strawberry basil diary free ice cream. Clean and inviting environment..it always smells so delicious when you walk in. For the quality I think the pricing is fair. It's so fresh and delicious and they use actual, real ingredients. You get what you pay for which is quality. The whole family loves it here!

We came here on my daughter's 7th birthday because she's been wanting to try a rolled ice cream shop and everything we could find about this place indicated that they do rolled ice cream. They don't. At least not anymore. So we gave her a choice - have some ice cream here, or go searching for another place that does rolled ice cream. She decided to stay and we're so glad! It was the best ice cream I can recall eating in my life. So amazingly good!! It had that nice stretch to it, perfect texture, and amazing flavor. I had a taste of the Lavender/Honeycomb flavor which definitely gave off a "soap" vibe but was unique and fun. I ended up getting Raspberry and Banana Nutella and they were both incredible. We all loved our ice cream. We live in Utah county but will go out of our way anytime we're near Bountiful to stop here! read more

Great old-fashioned ice cream parlor. This place is hardly the "best kept secret in Bountiful". Everyone knows about this place and it is packed most of the time. The ice cream flavors are unique and full of flavor. I took my kids and we shared the different flavors: vanilla, fresh raspberry and Campfire s'mores. The campfire s'mores tasted just like marshmallows toasted over a campfire. It had a slight smokiness that was pretty unique. The other flavors were pretty awesome too. Try the seasonal flavors as they seem to change every few weeks. read more

At first I walked into this place thinking it was rolled ice cream but I was saddened to see that it wasn't. Not a problem, I just wanted some ice cream and it was my mistake but let me tell you...I wasn't not disappointed after eating their ice cream. I was excited for the rolled type but honestly this was much better. We got two different flavors, one was lavender and the other Nutella. The consistency is almost perfect and it's not too sweet or not sweet enough, it really is just right. In addition to that, the staff was very friendly and helpful so the experience was pleasant on top of the delicious treat. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Really, really good! It's a fun experience to choose your flavors and watch them mix and roll the ice cream. My kids loved it. I do wish they had other drink options, but that's the only downside. I had vanilla ice cream with banana, biscoff and caramel mixed in and then topped with toasted coconut, toasted almond and more caramel. So yummy! read more

Easily the best ice cream I've tasted ANYWHERE! and trust me I've had loads of ice cream. Blacksmith not only delivers in quality and taste but the service is also exceptional! The flavors change often so you're not stuck with the same flavors which makes repeat visits to Blacksmith special. I go here about once a week and even take my 1yr old daughter who gets excited when we walk in. She loves ice cream probably about as much as I do now because of Blacksmith! I can't say enough about this place you just NEED to come here and find out yourself how amazing they are! My favorite ice cream shop hands down.... read more

Really good Backcountry berry cheesecake ice cream. So yummy. I also tried the raspberry, vanilla, and cookies and cream ice cream. Everything was so delicious, except the raspberry. A lot of people like it, but I thought it was too tart. Overall super happy I stopped in there and tried the ice cream. Will be back when the craving hits. I got the small bowl, in which you can get up to 2 flavors. I'm so happy I was able to mix flavors because I did order the raspberry, then decided to add the cheesecake before they were done. Didn't eat the raspberry, but I devoured the berry cheesecake. There are no samples right now and they aren't doing rolled ice cream, but it was still worth it. read more

This place is seriously AMAZING. I see other people on here complaining that the price is steep, but it's only expensive if you get the rolled ice cream. And the rolled ice cream is easily enough for 2 people to share. What I love about this place is that the ice cream tastes so fresh and it's actually super cheap if you just get 1-3 scoops. Compare this ice cream to the price of Nielsen's Frozen Custard and it's pretty much dirt cheap. I strongly recommend this place. The ice cream is good, it's worth the price, and it's a fun atmosphere. read more

The employee was super helpful and when I was split between the berry cheesecake and s'mores, she did a half n half cup for me. The kid portion was ample for our 6yr old. Building is on the west side of Main Street so it has evening shade and we really enjoyed our ice cream at their small sidewalk tables. Everyone enjoyed their flavors but the s'mores, my word. So delicious. Even the chocolate used was high quality. Even with rich creamy ice cream and quality ingredients, we still found it to be very reasonably priced. Alas, it is the reality of this place: they are consistently out of something every time I visit. Because the staff was friendly and helpful, I suspect that the problem begins with management. The owners need to speak with the managers (or whoever keeps the products in stock), so they can perform inventory checks and ensure that they keep the bare basics available for customers (like vanilla ice cream and whipped cream). There are many elements that make a shave ice beyond amazing and I have a checklist to see if a shave ice place meets my requirements. The Daily Shave Ice did not disappoint! The first item I look for is flavor. The Daily Shave Ice has a variety of flavors, including sugar free. They have the classic flavors (tigers blood) to the tropical flavors (mango) that I always order on my shave ice. Bonus points if they offer additional items to add to it, like ice cream on the bottom and condensed milk on top. The Daily Shave offers both and I absolutely recommend it. Together, it totally elevates the shave ice. The second item is the quality of ice. This ice was very smooth and snow like. The softer the ice, the better it is. What I wasn't expecting was the size. They really pack on the ice! I ordered a small and it was massive. It was a fun surprise when I picked it up at the window. Overall, this place knows how to make a shave ice. The ice is soft, the flavors are awesome and the size is huge. A great treat on a summer day.

If you ever get the chance look for them on facebook as they always post where they'll be located throughout summer. They also will come to your event, just give them a call. It was full of retro, lighting, booths, and decor. And asking the girl at the front for the best sandwich or the most popular one and she recommended the turkey bacon avocado. I ended up getting an 8 inch of that with some miscellaneous toppings with a drink and a snickerdoodle cookie. I was impressed by the amount of toppings such as bacon and avocado that were put on the sandwich, in a good way. In the end was actually pretty good. I do realize that at these kind of places the sandwich being good depends on what you put on it but nonetheless, I enjoyed my sandwich and cookie while reading a book in the corner. While comparison to Subway still stands it is more pricey, the combo with the eight inch sandwich ran me about $18, so wow good is not the front runner in terms of value. Another plus is that they do have farrs ice cream that you can get as well. All in all, a good sandwich shop and somewhere local to support! 3.75/5
