$17.48 - 1 cone, 1 double-scoop cup, and 1 cup: Golden Passion Fruit, Carmel Cashew & Banana Nutella, Caramel Cashew. We tried to stop here the night before, but the line was about 80 people long. We came back Saturday midday and quickly learned why. While the parking lot was still packed, there was no line once we got inside. And once I started sampling the ice cream, it felt like it was just me floating in the clouds. Across all three flavors, the first thing that stood out was the texture. The Golden Passion Fruit was bright, the Banana Nutella was rich, and the Caramel Cashew was rich. Every scoop was remarkably dense, silky, and creamy. The Golden Passion Fruit was dairy-free, which I'm not entirely sure how that technically qualifies as ice cream. While I have spooned plenty of diary free deserts into my mouth, I have never ordered a dairy free in a commercial creamery so this was going to be a first. But after that first sample, the thought of daily free never crossed my mind. It was dense, rich, smooth, and immensely flavorful. It tasted exactly like the passion fruit I've picked off the trees just minus the seeds. It was bright and was incredibly concentrated. It was outstanding. While this wasn't my order, the person who did order this made the mistake of letting my try their double scoop dish. It was tough to give it back. The Banana Nutella tasted exactly like it sounds. The base was thick, creamy, and custardy with the banana and hazelnut flavors clearly coming through. The Caramel Cashew was also a standout. The caramel brought a deep buttery sweetness while the cashews added a roasted, nutty richness that kept it from becoming overly sweet. In the same dish, those were like rival siblings: they could hang together when they have to, but would prefer the attention be focused solely on them. Scoop sizes were standard and appeared consistent across all the orders. The young crew seemed well trained on portion control and sample limits. They were strictly by the book with two samples maximum. Luckily, someone in my group only wanted one sample, so I was able to claim their unused allocation. I wasn't ready to stop tasting and understand their limits. This may be the highest concentration of cream and dairy richness I've ever experienced in a commercial creamery. The texture was exceptionally dense, silky, and indulgent. As the legend goes - King Arthur had a round table because all the knights were equal. But as we know in real life, some are more equal than others. The Passion Fruit and the Caramel Cashew were definitely more equal, but please don't think the BN was a slouch. All deserved to be on the podium. When you start in heaven, everything else is hell. I HATE ;-) Blacksmith Ice Cream for it may have permanently ruined my perspective on ice cream!

I was visiting Utah. Happy I don't have one of these by my house as it was INCREDIBLE! I would be here all the time. You can watch them making the ice cream. Unique flavors, and a good selection of exceptional vegan! They have vegan to taste, not just to go cartons. I tried Matcha Mango, which was delicious, but Thqi tea won my taste buds. I needed a double! If there is a line at the door, get in it! You will not regret it!

The top ice cream in Utah and one of the best in the U.S. there are some flavors better than others so use your samples to find the one that's perfect for you: personal favorites--Berry Cheesecake, Carmel Cashew, seasonal flavors are always fun to try. And now if there was only a way to get them to make Banana Nutella a permanent flavor again......

HIGH QUALITY ICE CREAM for such a REASONABLE PRICE. From where I'm from (CA), you can get the one scoop of ice cream on a waffle cone but for 6-7 dollars. Here, the ice cream is so much more creamier, and one scoop on a cone is only 4-5 ish dollars. Though there was a really long line when we came, (around 8 o'clock), the ice cream was worth the wait, no doubt. I got the Flight (shh.. it's cheat day..), with flavors: Thai tea, chewy gooey buttercake, campfire smores, and white mint chip. I loved ALL these flavors. Judging from other people's reviews, I don't think there is a flavor that's bad at Blacksmith. The thai tea was really strong, but I gotta say, the first bite is the best. The more you eat it, the more weird the flavor becomes. I'm sure this is probably a me thing though, so I still totally recommend this flavor. The chewy gooey butterake the best flavor in my opnion. The name is really accurate; the ice cream IS really chewy. I love the texture. It feels like you're biting into a cookie, but there's icecream too! Hey, two birds on one stone! The campfire smores also didn't disappoint. Like the chewy gooey butter cake, the campfire smores also had a stuff inside, which was a chewing sensation! Though I'm not big on smores, cause I think that they're always way too sweet, this ice cream redefined smores for me. The marshmallows aren't fully sweet, but I can totally taste the smoky flavor of the roasted marshmallows. Though the white mint chip wasn't bad, I felt like it was more underwhelming compared to the over three flavors I've tried. It's just plain white mint chip, nothing more, nothing less. I also got waffle cones on the side (yes, you can do that!), since I really wanted to try out their handmade waffle cones. They serve it to you in triangles (like tortilla chips!) in a little paper bag. That also, was great. So crunchy and buttery! I also gotta say, watching the staff make the ice cream was soo satisfying!

the best ice cream in utah...... every time i come to visit my boyfriend's family, i make it a point to come here AT LEAST once. as a vegan, i am obsessed with all of the high quality, creamy, non-dairy flavors they have! they also have such fun seasonal flavors that keeps things exciting. the strawberry matcha and the banana were DELICIOUS! the perfect amount of sweetness, gooey/soft texture, and just overall such interesting flavors that harmonize perfectly together. its not an exaggeration when i say that i dream about this ice cream every day...

Strawberry Matcha and Royal Dutch Chocolate

Needless to say, Blacksmith lived up to the hype. Their flavors are unique yet refined. You can't go wrong with any of their flavors, but as a lactose intolerant individual, I highly recommend the Golden Passion Fruit and Royal Dutch Chocolate. The Chewy Gooey Buttercake is also delightful for those who can indulge in dairy. All the workers were very friendly and efficient, and they certainly needed to be with the line that went out the door on the random Monday evening when we visited. The line moved quickly though, and I can't wait to come back to try more of their flavors! Just keep in mind that seating is limited, so if you're not lucky, you may need to wait for an open table or plan to take your treats elsewhere.

The line was out the door (as if often the case), but moved quickly and the ice cream is worth the wait! We sampled several flavors and it was a tough decision, but the mocha chip is my new favorite. The lavender honeycomb (I think?) is unique and we also enjoyed the cookie butter something (recommended when I asked for peanut butter something). Great, spacious location and super friendly employees, too.

Single scoops of fudge brownie and caramel cashew

We prefer hard ice cream to soft serve, so after ice skating at Millcreek Commons, we hunted this place down. There was no wait early on a spring weekday afternoon. We tried the fresh raspberry (okay flavor, a little ice burned), white mint chip (very good), caramel cashew (kind of nutty) and ultimately ordered single scoops in cups of fudge brownie (sooo gooey) and caramel cashew. We sat upstairs to eat while enjoying a beautiful mural.

    Flight of 4 flavors

Cutest little ice cream shop! The ice cream is hand churned on a cold table and is the creamiest ice cream I have ever had. We did a flight both times. It's a fun way to try 4 different flavors at once. The Dulce de leche is incredible, and the banana Nutella was the tastiest surprise of the night. You also can't go wrong with the fresh raspberry. It tastes just like a summer day. My only complaint is the parking lot is tiny and lots of businesses share. We ended up raking in the street which worked fine.

This place is SO good!! The line is always out the door when I go (in the afternoon) and they do have very limited seating but their ice cream is worth it! The line travels fairly fast so no worries about being outside too long. They have so many flavors and some rotate monthly so def worth going and trying multiple if you can. Truly crave this place so I highly recommend, I go about once a month!

    Campfire S'mores
    Katie W.

This was the best ice cream I've ever had. I got the Campfire S'mores and it was perfect! It had the perfect flavoring of marshmallows, chocolate, vanilla, and graham cracker. The waffle cone was also the best I've ever had! It's light and airy, but crispy! The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Let's be real-I'm a big fan of ice cream. So when my dinner date suggested that we go for dessert, I didn't hesitate to agree. He knew right where to go, and I happily went along-always eager to try a new place. As we pulled into the parking lot on a Friday evening, we immediately noticed the line of people out the door. That's a good sign, right? Someone once told me that if you ever see people queuing up, you join the line. Figure out what you're waiting for later. Luckily, the line moved quickly-much faster than a hopping LA nightclub. Service is friendly and they are happy to provide a couple samples per person so you can try something new. This is where they got me. I'm usually a traditional ice cream flavor girl, but I was feeling adventurous and asked for a sample of the lavender honeysuckle. At first, my reaction was "nope, not for me," but as I gave it a second it grew on me. That's what I ordered and finished off with no regrets. Pro tip-take your sweet treat upstairs for a great view of the dining area below. It's terrific people watching.

After a long day of walking around, we decided we needed some ice cream -- and we're so glad we ended up here. The place is large, with seating upstairs that gives you a nice view of the operation below. They have two counters with sets of ice cream flavors, I'm guessing so they can serve more people without getting in each other's way. You can even see them making small batches in the kitchen, and everything looks super fresh. We were greeted by a super friendly staff member who explained the menu and offered us a couple of samples. We settled on a double waffle cone with Salted Caramel/Peanut Butter and Cookie Dough/Peanut Butter. They were way too big, but we still managed to eat every last bite. So yummy! Definitely a place we'd come back to!

So good. Amazing flavors. There is always a line when you go to Blacksmith. With 3 locations now you are not far from a BlackSmith.

When it comes to getting a sweet treat, Normal Ice Cream delivers and the best part is their ever so changing menu regarding their "composed cone". Now I am not only a huge fan of the taste these have but specifically the amount of thought and time that goes into creating new ones ever so often. Has me and my Fiancé hooked. This time around we tried Grrl scout cookie - (for chocolate enthusiasts) delicious dark chocolate with mint, had me biting the frozen chocolate dip like a chocolate bar. Was fantastic. Mango sticky rice - tasted pretty spot on to what you would expect. Huge props to the execution and creativity to make this into an ice cream. Magically delish - fantastic and creative for the St Patrick's day theme. Lucky charms milk soft serve was soooo good. Turned out to be a favorite, was not expecting to like it so much. Highly advise trying before its gone.
