An online custom printing T-shirt company failed to deliver 57 shirts ordered a month ago for our children's bible day camp, and I found that out on the Friday, with half a business day left before the camp was to start. Ryan is absolutely awesome! After many(10) attempts of trying to make my own homemade t-shirts using the "iron ons" from Office Depot, Staples, and even Target it was pretty much a complete FAIL. I hardly write reviews unless the company I'm writing for went above and beyond any of my expectations. So in this case I felt that I owed it to Ryan and his staff at Blacklava to leave a review. We had just heard of the team competition series for the crossfit games late last week and we needed team uniforms by the following Friday. So all weekend I spent looking for businesses and companies that could produce a few shirts in a short amount of time. I turned to yelp and thats where i stumbled upon Blacklava. Being that they were open on a Sunday, I was able to call and speak with Ryan directly. He was very professional and accommodating. I literally did a basic design on an internet site and sent him my (very basic) work up and within a half hour Ryan replied back and sent me his workup for the shirts, which went above and beyond what I even thought of. So I had Ryan initiate my order on a Monday and he was able to have my shirts ready and out the door by Thursday in time for our teams competition on Friday! I highly recommend Blacklava for all the reasons i've said already but also just the willingness to accommodate my order in such a GREAT turnaround time. The shirts turned out extremely great and exactly what we were looking for. I got a TON of complements already. I met Ryan after an event at JANM after seeing some of the awesome pieces he has on his site, Blacklava.net. The site hosts some really cute items and pretty witty T-shirts. But what I really want to emphasize is his custom printing. When we heard he also does custom printing we were really excited -- we were in charge of an event to be housed at UCLA's prestigious Royce Hall and were using shirts with our event's design to promote the event. I host a blood drive every year and last year I made a last minute decision to have some buttons made for this event. We needed new staff shirts at the Zimmer Children's Museum, and Ryan offered competitive rates! Easy communication via e-mail. I sent him our design, he responded with a few adjustments based on his printing expertise, we figured out the quantity and sizes, and then the shirts were off to print! Since we couldn't make the time to get down to Torrance to pick them up ourselves, he offered to deliver them directly to our museum because he happened to be in the area. We LOVE them! I was afraid the orange was going to be too bright, but they are perfect! Our museum guests can easily identify our staff, and a few even asked if we have them in kid sizes for their own kids! I was in a hurry to get a sweater made for my boyfriend for Christmas and probably hit up Ryan like a week before the holiday.
