Coming here was easily one of the best travel decisions I've ever made. The surroundings are so serene, and the interior vibe is incredibly relaxing. I was treated with the utmost hospitality and felt incredibly welcome. I tried two cocktails from their drink menu, both expertly crafted by Athena with fresh ingredients, and they were some of the best drinks I've EVER had. The appetizer I ordered was excellent, and the smash burger was among the best I've tasted. My only regret was not opting for the sweet potato fries instead of the standard hand-cut ones. Great little restaurant in an old country farm house with excellent crafted food. The smash burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had - comes with perfectly fried hand cut potato fries. The black bean burger is mouth watering. The packabowl is my all time favorite. I've had it with grilled chicken and salmon, which are both excellent choices. The wings are tasty, the fried cheese curds are outrageously delicious. The olives are perfectly marinated with herb. The loaded tots can basically be a meal, too. Another yelper said in a review that this place is pretentious..well, they spelled "delicious" wrong! Take a seat at the bar if you can. (Btw, the cocktails are out of this world!) Had a great dinner there last night. Sat outside in the back - where we could have our dog with us. The salmon burger was very good and reasonably priced. The cheese curds were ok, though a bit overcooked (and kinda pricey at $16). I really liked the atmosphere. While waiting for our food I walked around the yard with my 2 year old and even went down to the stream to splash in the water. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

Lee was the bartender (bar caterer? whatever the correct term may be) of our wedding several years ago and my wife and I thought she was very cool and made great drinks. When we heard that she was opening a restaurant, we wanted to check it out. We've had take out a few times and finally decided to eat at restaurant in person for the first time since March. Cool lawn to hang out on. Someday, it'll be cool to go inside. We've had wings, the shittake po' boy, a fried chicken burger, grilled chicken sandwich, one of the burgers, the veggie burger, and chicken tenders. All were good and I especially liked the shittake po' boy. Big fan! read more

This is a beautiful spot - we went on a gorgeous night and enjoyed sitting outside at some picnic tables (although, the deer flies were quite annoying!). We ordered our food ahead of time for a pick-up/take out and then went early to enjoy their craft cocktails. The food ordering was all done on-line and it wasn't easy to include specific notes about certain orders. The bartender was about as friendly as a sore throat. Not sure why he wasn't more hospitable, but his unfriendliness was a bit of a damper. On another note, the cocktails were served in paper cups - not ideal, especially when they are as expensive as they are... We picked up the food and it wasn't labeled! So, we had to spend a while figuring out whose food went where. For an order for 10 people, why wouldn't you write on the box what it is?!? I really enjoyed my burger and overall, the food was good, although, my sister was annoyed because what she ordered (roast beef on a ciabatta roll) came out as pastrami on rye. Pretty different and she wasn't happy. I think this place needs to iron out a few kinks and then they will be a stellar spot. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves. read more

Great vibes at this place and scrumptious food. You can't beat the blackbird burger and all the cocktails are top notch. Everyone is kind and welcoming. Blackbird Bistro is a fantastic find in the northern area of Vermont, Orleans County. The BEST burgers, moist and lots of melted cheddar...but to start you have to try the Fried Cheddar Curds!
