STEAK AND EGGS and CAPPUCCINO
Sudi E.

Food was good. We ordered steak and eggs and Birra breakfast plate which was delicious. We sat outside in a rainy day that made our brunch more pleasant. The cappuccino is delicious The manager Nebil welcomed us to the restaurant. Very nice guy.

Parking was secured with ease during brunch hours. Very open concept with various seating options inside and exterior. Excellent customer service from the time we walked in til the time we departed. Everyone was so inviting and seemed very passionate about the customer experience. Billy and Sebastian were two individuals that stood out going above and beyond. The food was delicious and fresh, also. Ordered the healthy omelette with fruit and potatoes. It was so good I didn't get to capture it on camera. You could tell that the team here is valued by management and they have a wonderful team morale by the way they treat guests who dine here. Everyone was very knowledgeable and honest about the menu. Looking forward to visiting this location again and highly recommend it. They have food and desserts for all dietary restrictions and allergies

This is another great brunch spot in Houston! It was my first time visiting, and our waiter, Sebastian, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and really made the experience enjoyable. I ordered the Big Plate, which came with three mini pancakes, two chicken sausages, a side of blueberries, and grits. I also tried the Black Walnut Old Fashioned, which was a perfect complement to the meal. I'll definitely be coming back!

This is a go to fave! I hate they've done away with the Texas Pecan coffee.... But I was still able to get a decent cup to go with my cake! 100% recommend!

Chicken lettuce wraps. A couple bites missing. Yum.

I'm back! It had been a while. I'm really impressed they haven't raised their prices too much despite the crazy inflation the past few years. I had the chicken lettuce wraps, my wife had the black walnut salad. Both were great. We sat in the atrium area near the front with big windows. The staff was nice, the food came out quickly, the bathrooms were clean. This place is a well deserved Houston establishment. 5*

Chicken and waffles OJ Mimosa's Potatoes and eggs and chicken sausage

First time here and was not disappointed. Ordered a waffle with eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage and my bf got chicken and waffles. I came in looking for for some simple breakfast but was blown away with their breakfast food. Will definitely be back, also friendly staff just wanted to mention that.

I always come here when I want to eat a good and not so pricey meal, in a bright space and with good service. Ambience is super friendly and comfortable.

This establishment is a blessing to the Houston area. The food is to die for delicious and the space is so cozy and provides a homey vibe. There are people that flock here of all stages of life. It doesn't matter if you're craving a Caesar salad or a stack of delicious pancakes... they have it all!!! And multiple locations at that. The service is fantastic and friendly. I love the Black walnut cafe and plan on visiting more this year.

ASIAN GLAZED SCOTTISH SALMON
Chrissy P.

Ordered food to go, through a 3rd party. The salmon was 19.00 which is a normal price these days. My food was still very warm when it arrived, which I was happy about that. The seasoning was weird and very tangy, I just ate it because I already paid for it... about an hour after my stomach was hurting really bad. Not sure why but I ended up throwing up all of my food o was super sad about it! But I would try their food again, I would just dine in

Chicken and waffles (no eggs)
Brittany B.

If I'm honest, the 1st thought that comes to mind when I think of this Black Walnut is that their menu is coming dangerously close to Cheesecake Factory levels of abundance in selection. Salmon or chicken fried steak? You got it. Chicken and waffles with eggs anytime of day? Ofcourse. Top shelf full cocktail menu, paired with loaded milkshakes, burgers, soups, salads, vegan favs or a colossal selection of desserts...why not? Brunch? No problem. And although you order at the counter, I'd say they bridge the gap between fast casual and full service. They're both classy and casual, spacious and intimate, a restaurants of positive contradictions. While I personally have a love hate relationship with this restaurant (particularly the woodlands location) they're certainly a staple to the community, and worth a stop in if you've never been! This particular location has a darling covered patio with fans, and heaters depending on what's needed, and with all of their locations ample seating as well as a variety of seating options to choose from. It's a perfect spot for duos who cannot agree on where to go!

I had not been to Jun before, so when I pulled up and did not see "Third Place" on the building I was a little confused. They have a small sign out front, and I learned they repurpose the space in the mornings and during the day as a coffee shop. I love that concept. They also host food pop ups and feature different chefs. When we went last week they had a Szechuan pop up. We were there around 9 am so it was too early to try the food, but after reading reviews I definitely want to come back for it. We ordered an iced vanilla matcha and a hot latte, and both were amazing. The space has so much natural light and a really relaxing vibe. Even the cups and mugs are are so cute!! We ended up staying for a while, just talking and playing cards. I will absolutely be back!!

I recently moved to Houston so saw this and thought to check them out. By not asking if ive been here before they messed up. 1st, no one told me the food comes with a complimentary banana. Not on the menu. No signs. Nothing. I'm allergic. They had to remake my food which is a waste for them too and embarrassing for me. 2. Comes with toast. Great. Amazing. Thanks. Again. My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.

The tart and braid were my favorites! The candied orange has such a nice sweetness, whereas the pistachio on the tart was smooth and had that delicious almond flavor. The bomboloni was so good, but I think maybe I am just used to the crunch of cannoli with a creamy ricotta filling. The Nutella item was fine, it just wasn't my style of pastry. I'm not sure what the norm is, but it was frigid inside. I would've loved to see some tables outside and thaw out, but they didn't have any outside seating. Additionally, maybe I am so used to American coffee shops, but a syrup for lattes would've been a nice touch as well. Those are my only constructive suggestions... in general, I enjoyed what they have to offer and would come back.
