Listen. I was dreading having to move. Just the thought was so overwhelming . I called black tie and they had everything out of my storage and into my home in under 3 hours. They arrived on schedule. Communicated with me every step of the way. They were even nice enough to offer to move the cases of water from my car to the house. The guys were fast and thorough. Nothing was broken and they were professional and friend. I was hesitant at first because of the price I was quoted, but they got it done well under the quoted time frame. Worst movers in history of my multiple moves. I haven't had such careless people who -damaged walls by causing deep dents not just superficial scratches. -severely damaged my hardwood floors and NEVER fixed properly but the dents the deep scratches they made are not covered and they didn't care to properly fix -damaging appliances during the move -claiming that one truck will be enough so they send small one that ended up not enough so we had to do 2 runs with a break in between taking a much longer time than they could have if properly sent the right truck and charging me 200 an hour for their faults -very sloppy job when assembling furniture at home after move, example where they just put the bed frames and laid the supporting panels without screwing them and covering with mattress claiming all done and leave m. We kept calling them to fix what they did fir weeks and we just are screwed. They don't care and They won't. read more

In April 2019 I moved an office for me down the street. Was quoted for ~$500. Movers showed up without tools, I went home and got my tools and proceeded to help because they told me it would take all day. Was pulled aside by 2 of the building employees to say that the movers we talking their time and calls and vaping. After a long lunch they moved me into a storage unit and charged me $900. Moved on a short notice during the holiday season, and was able to get everything confirmed. Joey was my team lead and amazing. No damage to any of my furniture - can't say that for other moving companies that use two men and a truck!! Super fast, super hardworking. These guys are legit. Also, don't know if it's part of the truck or what, but there was literally a red carpet rolled out from behind the truck as they were unloading my items. Moved us from Haywood to Tipton Co. The service fee for the distance was lower than the competition. Final price ended up a few hundred below closest competitor. 4 guys 2 trucks were very swift, careful, and effective. You could tell they had a systematic approach. They loaded a lot of old heavy antiques with ease, wrapped everything in a heavy duty black plastic stretch wrap, no damage to delicate pieces. Highly recommend. Awful, I hired three men for 2 hours to move the heavy things into pods I had delivered. I walked through and showed them the items to move. I was busy packing china and other things. They called me to show me a piece that was too big for the pod. I agreed it wouldn't fit. One guy went back into my house with a duffel bag as the others said that was all; they were done. It had only been an hour and a half. I was feeling uncomfortable about the guy in my house with his duffel bag wondering around as if he was looking for things, my things. So I let them go. I continued packing. Later I looked and realized they had left most of the heavy items upstairs the pods were only half full I was so frustrated I texted the one who had left his number in case I needed more help. I said I was frustrated so much was left upstairs and unpacked. He relpied "Lol I guess You wasn't paying attention it's your own fault woman. Now figure it out on ya own since you want to be a crack head". If the guy hadn't been in my house with his duffel I would have been on top of it. I don't trust any of them. read more

This was literally the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. Please, do not use them. The movers poked a GIANT HOLE in our wall and decided not to mention it to us until WE noticed it. the movers were CARELESS and it was way, way too expensive. I wish I could give them zero stars. 1. They are too expensive. They wrap your things with plastic which at first seems like a plus when dealing with your electronics, but why wrap a couch and pillows... only takes up more time and therefore you end up paying them more. We were charged around $700 to move 25 minutes away and we did not have a lot of things. Were moving out of a small apartment. I have used other local movers and was charged $300 to move 25 min away with the same amount of furniture. 2. CARELESSNESS Three high schoolers showed up to move our things. My husband and I were waiting outside bc the apartment was very small and we didn't want to get in their way. After they were done moving everything we went in to check and they had poked a giant hole in the ceiling when moving the bed downstairs. I asked the young man "where did this come from" and he said "oh the hole? Wow I didn't know it was that big." This made us very angry because he knew about the hole but failed to mention it until we saw it and had to ask him about it. He called his boss and he said they'd have someone come out to fix it. This is where the third problem hit. 3. Extremely rude They contacted a guy who worked for the company that did repairs for them. We were given this mans number and were told he would be there the next day to fix the hole. The next day comes and we don't hear from him. I call him and leave a message asking what his plan was/if he has already been by the house. My husband had called him twice before that earlier in the day with no reply. He immediately calls me back, and says this "I don't know who you are, I don't know why you're calling me. I'll be by the house whenever I have the time to." Keep in mind, we were told it'd be done that morning. There was more said but for the sake of length I will cut it short. I asked why he was being so rude for no apparent reason and he hangs up on me and immediately sends a text to my husband saying, WORD FOR WORD "never contact me again and do not have some crazy chick call me asking if the hole has been fixed." We contacted the owner who apologized repeatedly and found another guy who fixed the hole the next morning. However, it was obvious the hole had been patched. Definitely was not someone with a lot of experience. Looks like someone just slapped some plaster on it and left. If we hadn't been renting this place and owned it and someone knocked a hole into my ceiling and then haphazardly patched it, I would be furious. There is NO exaggeration in what I am saying, all of this actually happened. I just want to let everyone know this company was too much of a hassle to work with. Too expensive, careless, and the people they hire to fix their mistakes are questionable. Save your money and find someone else, trust me there are much better companies out there that can do the same amount of work for cheaper and give you a not so crappy experience. Put way too much stress on something that should have been simple. We were given a refund but for people who are moving and have a lot of other things that come with the moving process, this was just too much of a hassle and the people were not pleasant to deal with and that is an understatement. read more

We spoke with someone at Black Tie and have tried to communicate several times, and they are not responding. We feel with all the expense of the move, they pay for the table. We are only asking $250. The two men who moved me had spent the entire two days prior to my move working to move a woman out of her huge house. By the time they arrived for my move, they had already worked a 12 hour day, but they still showed up with great attitudes and weren't going to stop until they got the job done. The movers did take longer than quoted, but when I asked the operations manager about it and politely explained with specific examples of how I think it could have gone faster, he refunded me $150 and apologized. Overall, I would absolutely use Black Tie Moving again. Their pricing is honest and fair. Fast service, National, not local. Nice guys arrived on time for the move. They failed to bring boxes as requested, but they finished everything several hours faster than I was quoted. Time-efficiency was more important to me than the lack of boxes for packing. The guys did everything we asked and they did so with a positive attitude, but did not offer to do anything more than was asked. We found scratches on a couple of larger items the next day, but it was obvious that they were trying to be very careful. Thankfully we did not ask them to move the main heirloom item. This company is supposed to be "the best." They weren't. My husband is handicapped. We are not able to move items by ourselves. This is why we hired movers. We also paid a ton of money for them. I figured this would be the best this time, so that we could get everything done at one time. They left NUMEROUS items. I mean it is so ridiculous. They couldnt get a printer? They couldnt get blankets and pillows? There were a few items in the kitchen that are breakable that were not packed up and one closet of clothes that were not packed up. I can kind of understand them not getting the kitchen items, even though they should have, but certainly not the pillows, printer, blankets. I've literally been back to the old apartment two times to get things. This was literally my worst experience moving ever and I have moved a million times. read more

Terrific moving company. Totally professional with a great business ethic. They email a pre-move estimate after you book with all the pertinent information you need to know. Our move was in two stages, two weeks apart. Michael and Jason were our first movers and were fast, efficient and respectful. They were great! Eric and Shawn were our 2nd movers, equally professional and efficient. They had to work in the rain all day which made the move that much trickier. In addition, there was the gas co, a plumber, cable company and the owner here to talk with the plumber. Way too much happening that day but they got it done!! Not a single item was damaged, even though the weather was awful during the three hours it took to complete my move (cold and rainy). I'm so glad they wrapped my furniture and secured everything on the truck! What a terrific added bonus without the added cost! Moreover, they were more than accommodating to the special circumstances surrounding my move, i.e. multiple location drops and pick ups. The most expensive and disrespectful experience moving I ever had! Never again! Tyler and 3 others showed up very punctually, inspected my belongings which were already packed, and proceeded their methodical and for the most part unnecessary wrapping of every furniture piece, including all foam couch I had. They took unexpectedly long to get the little furniture I had ready to load up in the truck, along with the rest of my stuff which was already packed by me in advance. Then they took what they claimed was going to be a 15-20 minute 'lunch' at 10:30 am, which turned out to be more like 1 hour and a half. When they finally showed up at the destination with my stuff, they took forever to bring in my belongjngs. They forgot screws for my daughter's bed so the slats were just laid loose under her mattress. I helped move stuff as well trying to get things moving faster... Didn't make any difference. Finally, when everything was in, i was presented with Tyler's calculations and impertinent jokes which totaled to $900 and additioanal tip. I was taken back by the amount but was generous in adding an extra $50 tip figuring that since they were sweaty and exhausted they deserved at least $10 each. After they left I got a phone call from Tyler which was unintended - I think he hit the call button of his cell phone by mistake - as I could hear the movers laughing in the truck describing in the most foul language imaginable how they fooled me and what hurt the most how I gave my 4 year old daughter the iPad to pass the time while I foolishly was helping them move my stuff, to keep busy and out of their way. I have never felt so stupid for agreeing to pay so much money and tipping generously and being disrespected this way. I couldn't hear all 'the gory details' of their conversation but they were laughing excitedly as if they just hit the jackpot. I have moved many times in my life from one corner of the continent to another, had movers each time, but I must say never have I paid so much for so little and then be disrespected on top of it. The guys were super nice, called ahead and let us know when they'd arrive. One seemed to be a little more experienced than the other and coached him some on how to handle the larger pieces of furniture. We moved from a small apartment into a condo, and the logistics were a little difficult (including a pit-stop at a storage unit to switch out some furniture before continuing to the condo, having to unload all the pieces in the lobby, then load onto elevator, then unload on our floor, then move into the condo...), but the guys were troopers. Because of the complicated logistics, the move took much longer than we expected and was much more expensive, but the guys were time-conscious and worked hard. Several of our furniture items got dinged and scratched along the way (leather couches, large flat screen TV), which I have a feeling had to do with poor packing/handling. But no major damage, and the company offered to repair at no cost to us. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful, and I would use them again! read more
