I filed a complaint through the app regarding the poor service received and property damage caused by this company. I have not received an acknowledgement nor reply. What's The Move caused over $300 in damage and the property manager, as well as the tenants, are furious. I have to pay for the damages caused and I am extremely upset. The only offer from the company is to pay half of quoted damage and claimed to know nothing of the Yelp guarantee on services rendered.
In addition, I had to pay a charge $150 more that was initially quoted. They gave the stairs as the reason but in the app it clearly states I am 1 floor UP, not on a ground floor. What's The Move you ask...MOVE VERY FAR FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO INCUR CHARGES THAT YOU NEITHER PLANNED FOR OR AGREED TO!! You requests will be ignored and you will feel like you're being strong-armed into paying an inflated price. I'm STILL waiting on that "Yelp Guarantee" to kick in because I definitely didn't budget for $350 in property damage when I planned my move!
10:42am--In response to the reply made by Cameron. "This is a list of what will be moved, give or take a tote or two!
Bar height dining table w/3 chairs, coffee table, 2 bookcases, 2-door side bar (the bottom part of an old curio cabinet, l-shaped gaming desk and chair, 5-drawer dresser, 7-drawer lingerie dresser, grandfather clock, approx 6 45gal storage totes, approx 4 18gal storage totes, a few small/medium moving boxes." You can clearly see this is more than 12 items. I was told I was being quoted a FLAT RATE and when asked I was reassured that this was the all inclusive rate. I can screenshot the job details discussed to disprove your claims sir. This is why Yelp wants the job arranged in the app. Businesses can't go back and change the arrangement to fit their needs after given a rate. You should stand on what you say or advise the customer of potential additional cost...which you DID NOT! I told you and your team I was moving into a older Midtown property with no elevator just the staircase to get to the 2nd floor. As far as the number of storage units, it was discussed and your company. Yoy were told there were two, three door apart and given the two unit #'s.
The property owner advised that this matter is for me to manage, I contracted the services. He directed me of the clause regarding damage to the property that is in my lease.
By the way, it seems that my review caused a bit of buzz for you. Mine was the first but I see you have others posted now...interesting. read more
