just found out they no longer offer discounts for paying for the year in full. this is a very poor decision on their part very disappointed in them. will no longer ever recommend them to anyone again and i will start looking for a new disposal company read more

Been with this company for years, the service has become lackluster and lazy. The customer service is HORRIBLE. Nasty attitude everytime we call. Definitely not waste your time. Other companies would be your best option for a smooth service. read more

it has been a pleasure working with your organization for the last several years, however, today one of our garbage cans was missing or stolen either prior to today's pickup or sometime afterwards We have not experienced any serious issues with your company and it just amazes me that someone would steal a garbage can we pay each month for TWO garbage cans and we would like to know when the other garbage can will be sent to our address which is 7463 Red River drive 38125 Thank you for your prompt response to our request and we look forward to working with your organization in the future read more

I've had this company for 3 years and never had a problem till my trash can lid was broken by them dumping it ! Mind you it's just the two pins that hold it on, so this was like 6 weeks ago and I still get nothing but new promises that there going to come fix it, almost time for me to pay again, but will probably go ahead and just find another company!! read more

I had an issue with my pick up and it was clearly an oversight on my part as I had a death in my family. When I emailed about my missed pick up, Antoinette replied that the number that was on file was NOT the number I had sent her to contact me in the future. See below email from her: Antoinette Walton From: awalton@htdisposal.com To: 'Sandra Rodgers' Fri, Jul 19 at 12:13 PM Ms. Rodgers, That is NOT the phone number that we have on file for you. I found her response very rude by writing NOT in all caps. As a retired Executive Assistant for over 25 years, this would be unprofessional and uncalled for when responding to one of your customers. I hope management/owner will address this complaint with Antoinette and take immediate action to ensure this does not happen again. This is not providing good customer service as I am sure this is what every company strives for in order to keep customers. Sandra Rodgers read more

After a month of them saying they were going to repair the trash container I pay for because their drivers accidentally broke the lid off mine they are saying now the man is on vacation who does the repairs. I just want a functional can I can use......a new one or fix the one I have. Customer service is uncaring. At least the drivers are nice though and on time if you don't have any other issues. read more

This has to be one of the worst trash companies in Memphis Tn. Do not communicate with the customers. Laziest pick up guys ever. Take your money but half way do the service. Run in after run in with this sorry company. Management is just a bad. Do not and I mean DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY read more

I've used 4 different weekly services over my years in memphis and cordova, and Home Town has been the best experience by far. Unlike each of the previous servicers... they NEVER missed a date.. their crews were polite... they didn't raise my fees every 6 months for gosh knows what for, and they always answered my call. Well done guys. I've moved into the city so have to use another vendor now, and i am not looking forward to it read more

We switched to this service after dealing with Republic which were the absolute worst in every aspect of their company. Hometown are actual people you can call to talk with & they're helpful. The process is easy. The driver & trash men in Cordova are literally the best!!! They're always on time & don't miss days. Of course they don't deliver the trash back exactly where you set it out because they are actual people dumping the trash & not a truck picking it up & down. I have never spoken to the owner personally as some have had bad experiences. Almost our entire neighborhood has switched over to them. read more

his company is the absolute worst company I've ever had to deal with in my entire life!!! I am about to move out of my neighborhood solely due to dealing with these people!!! Ok, so every week you have trash pickup, we live in a weird part of Memphis/Bartlett where we don't get the absolute luxury of having City Trash pickup. Using the city was a dream compared to this company! Home Town Disposal is the company we have to use for our trash pickup and we have to pay them monthly for it... you would think that in this situation, paying a private company for trash pickup, you would be treated with respect, they would pick up all your trash every week but no, no, no... they have an abundance of rules, because apparently they are lazy, rude people who don't want to do anything and get paid.... One of their rules is a strict limit of two trash cans and up to 5 small bags , and ABSOLUTELY no extra items or you will be charged for them... wait, what? I've had my curb FULL, FULL in Memphis and in Bartlett and with no complaints, a nice and cheerful good morning; they come by and pick it all up ... . You put one couch cushion on the curb and Home Town Disposal will not only leave it there, they will leave a letter stating if you wanted to throw it away you'll be charged like 40+$$$!! It makes me sick to my stomach! I wish we didn't move to this specific area and I will definitely be moving back to somewhere with city garbage pickup Because I honestly cannot handle this company. BEWARE. You never thought something like this would be that big of a deal or make you so mad inside that you want to walk out of your house when they are picking up the garbage and just all out attack them. But this company will do that to you. So here I sit with a mound of trash and miscellaneous junk that I can't throw away because the absolute last thing I'm going to do is give this worthless company more money!! Sorry neighbors!! Another fun fact about this specific area that I live, we can't go to the dump right around the corner because we "technically" live in. Memphis and you have to have a Bartlet ID... Thanks for reading! Y'all have a nice day ;) read more

Pickup is consistent, which is the main thing. Customer service is pleasant. Collectors will leave your emptied bins wherever is convenient for them, not where you placed them. Owner is a jerk who will attempt to intimidate you by talking over you. As long as you're fortunate enough to never be put in a situation of speaking with him, you'll be fine. I'm handicapped and had a simple request that my bin be left at the end of my drive (where it is placed) and not in the road down the street. Customer service had entered the request on the route sheet with no result. They passed me to the owner. Owner's solution? "These guy's aren't brain surgeons. I've got 7000 customers (i.e. I don't have time for this nonsense). Maybe I should help you find another vendor." I spoke to the collectors myself and they knew of the request but had been given the wrong address. Two stars off for the owner. He should never be allowed to speak with customers. read more

Reliable service. Picks up very early and doesn't destroy the containers while dumping.

I used to have the "other" company doing my trash pickup. It took them 5 weeks to get me a new lid for my trash can. That meant that every week I had to pick up trash that the raccoons and dogs spread around. I started looking for another company and voila, I found Home Town Disposal. They are about half the price of the other guys and we right on schedule on getting my new can out. Very responsive customer service. read more

I have been using this company for more than 5-6 years. They never miss the date. Great company. Customer service was nice.

After making several attempts (1 month) to get limbs collected with the understanding I would have to pay extra after looking at the pile. Since then, some of the pile had been taken away to ease some of the burden of the task. Today they still refused to pick up the pile and quoted me double the price for less debris than they did initially. The owner called me and I explained that they just didn't want to get the pile. He replied that they were not a tree service. I replied that I did expect the trash service as quoted, and that I'd hate to have to find another. He was rude and ugly and told me "Pick up your limbs yourself!" I politely told him to refund my money paid for the next quarter and end my service. I called the office to ensure my service had been cancelled and explained my experience and commented that his response was far from customer service oriented. She replied, "Well he's not customer service." I'm sorry you can't be an a$$hole to me and expect to keep my business. Either learn customer service skills, do not talk to customers, or lose business. read more

Horrible customer service!!! from the manager Christina to the owner Barry - VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! All I wanted was my trash can redelivered. They took my money and never delivered my trash can. Through research of my own, I found out it was delivered to the incorrect address and asked if it could be redelivered. They basically told me to pick it up myself or wait another week (in addition to the 7 business days previously given). Barry the manager, even went so far to tell me that it was my fault and that I should've just paid on time and can take my business elsewhere. Sir I apologize if families are making priorities due to layoffs but when I pay you $160 to redeliver my trash can, I expect it to be delivered within YOUR time frame. I shouldn't be blamed and demeaned for your carrier not delivering it to the correct address. A simple apology- "I'm sorry we'll get this corrected" would've been sufficient. Just all around bad business!! read more
