They managed to keep the same relaxed neighborhood vibe people love while giving it a much more modern, polished, and upscale feel. The updated design, lighting, TVs and overall atmosphere look incredible and make the space feel fresh without losing its personality. They still have the spinning drink wheel! The outdoor seating especially feels elevated now and makes for the perfect Houston brunch spot or night out. One of the best parts about NextDoor is that it's connected to Hungry's, which means you get full access to their menu while enjoying the lounge atmosphere. Being able to order everything from cocktails and appetizers to full meals while at a bar is a game changer. The food is consistently good, the drinks are strong (especially the frozen options) well-made, and everything comes out quickly. What keeps me coming back year after year is the consistency. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, the crowd is chill, and it never feels overly pretentious or chaotic. It's one of those rare spots that works for everything, whether it's happy hour after work, date night, catching up with friends over drinks on the patio or a solo adventure. Love seeing a longtime Houston favorite continue to evolve while still delivering the same great experience that's kept me coming back for years. Definitely one of my go-to spots on Memorial Drive. My only suggestion is to tell the younger staff members to be conscious of their conversations while guest are dining nearby. I love people watching but I heard a lot of things. It appears Hungry's uses the bar area like a break/training room or to do other tasks like rolling utensils in napkins.

He was also super attentive. 5/5 on ambiance. Was definitely giving an upscale vibe.

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

A Wonderful Dining Experience at Resilience!…read more We had such a great experience at Resilience in the Energy Corridor. The food was excellent, the atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing, and the company was even better! The lamb was done to perfection--tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The salt-and-pepper soft-shell crab was fabulous, and the P1 Pho was full of flavor and very satisfying. Raymond is truly a gem--personable, welcoming, and a pleasure to interact with. Francisco was our waiter and did a really nice job taking care of us. Great service makes such a difference! Good food, good company, and a restaurant we'll definitely be coming back to! The only area that needs attention is the restrooms. In the men's restroom, one of the toilets had a continual flush and the water faucet was not working. In the women's restroom, there was a water issue with water on the floor. Hopefully, these maintenance issues can be addressed quickly. Overall, a wonderful meal and a great experience. We're looking forward to returning!

We ordered a few items to share and enjoyed a few glasses of wine while catching up. Our waiter recommended the Albert Bicho Pinot Noir and it was really good. We shared the signature board, crispy calamari, and crab cake. We weren't a fan of the green olives but loved everything else. The calamari was a bit over fried but we loved the remoulade sauce it was served with. I enjoyed the crab cake there was plenty of crab meat. As the night went on the place began to fill and the ladies who came in for the live performance liven up the warm space and really set the vibes as did a version of Sade. Well, I have mostly good things to say about this place for starters the bartenders/servers are…read morereally friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. They have a pretty extensive menu of food and cocktails plus spirits beer etc.. We saw the headline music so that's what it brought us in last Saturday. We ordered a burger to the servers recommendation and it was really really good. Served with french fries that were cooked perfectly. We ordered a round of cocktails and then a high noon and a beer. I noticed that a lot of people were leaving in between the bands set and it was due to the young Dj playing really obscene hip-hop music full of profanity and the Nword. I'm not a Karen by any means I am Hispanic Caucasian mixed and my spouse is African-American for reference. 34& 40 years old so much younger than the band and the patrons that specifically went there to see them, but nonetheless felt very disrespected. The music was beyond out of place. A DJs job is to play to the crowd- read the room- and typically when there's a band playing the DJ will play corresponding music to keep the crowd engaged in between the sets. We literally watched others make remarks and leave which is very disappointing when a band came out there to play and lost their crowd. While they were on stage, many people were dancing, recording and having a great time. I brought it to the servers attention and another one that said he was the assistant manager. He acknowledged the he noticed the music and mentioned to the dj "that the music shouldn't have Bword this Bword that". But even after he had mentioned that to him because he had seen him earlier speaking to the Dj since our table was directly to the side the Dj did not heed to his remarks nor change the music. This was an extremely disappointing part of the evening we left and went somewhere else after we ate.

There is no cover charge for entry. There was a birthday party and singles mixer so seating was limited. My colleague and I found seats at the bar with Taylor taking excellent care of our needs despite the fact that they were busy. There were three bartenders doing double duty as bartenders and waitstaff for the floor. Being indecisive as always, I ordered a side salad, chicken wings, and potstickers. The food and two drinks were around $67 without the gratuity. The venue also offers valet parking since the lot is pretty small, or you can park in the lot next door. Bathrooms are always clean and the crowd is friendly and engaging.
