We ended up staying longer than expected prior to our evening flight because of how fantastic this place is. Extremely comfortable with an eclectic interior, and amongst the most comprehensive menus I've seen at a coffee shop. Everything is high quality to boot: the yogurt parfait was absolutely fantastic and well sized, the coffee was all excellent, and they made the best dirty chai I've ever had. The chocolate fondant cake was top-tier and delicious, like a gooey brownie all the way through and very rich. They have savory food, beer, and wine too; the pastrami panini was delicious. Also notable is a small selection of authentic Cuban items, such as flan- very unexpected for anchorage! The staff and owner were very proud of their establishment and friendly. Best coffee shop in anchorage, I'd highly recommend that anyone needing to stop by somewhere and kill time before a flight look no further than this place. It's also near some hotels, to which I'd also strongly recommend visiting. They have everything you could need!

I almost passed out when I had to pay 5.75 for a 12oz mocha. Their rent must be extremely high here. None of their menus on the counter or the wall had any prices, well they did but they blacked them out. None of the specials had prices, the food too. So they can change them how they see fit. I just don't really like that business practice, I think it's kind of shady. They are way too high as well. Nobody should be paying that for espresso. Mocha did taste decent though, and not too hot which I appreciate I didn't burn my mouth. The worker was very quiet and when I left she sat on the couch with her phone. Happy to support small businesses but I won't go out of my way to come here or ever pay that much for a mocha. Those are *bucks prices.

Black Cup Café is one of those hidden gems in Anchorage that you might drive past without giving it a second thought--but once you step inside, you realize what you've been missing. After living here for five years, I finally gave it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised. The café itself has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that sets it apart from other coffee shops in town. It's filled with plants, unique merchandise, and an overall aesthetic that makes you feel at home. The drinks were solid--I had a mocha and an iced coffee, both of which were good, though not necessarily groundbreaking. However, the real highlight for me was the atmosphere, which is easily one of the best in Anchorage. Their pastries were also fantastic, adding to the overall experience. If you're looking for a place to relax, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quiet moment, Black Cup Café is definitely worth a visit. read more

This coffee shop is an absolute gem. The moment you walk in, the ambience sets the tone warm lighting and cozy seating. It's the kind of place where you can unwind with a book, catch up with friends, or get focused work done. The coffee is genuinely good rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. Whether you're grabbing a simple latte or trying one of their specialty brews, everything tastes fresh and crafted with intention. The staff is friendly without being intrusive, and the overall vibe makes you want to linger longer than planned. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great coffee paired with an inviting atmosphere. read more

We visited Black Cup Coffee twice during our trip to Anchorage, and it quickly became one of our favorite stops! Our hotel was without internet for two days, so we came here to get some work done -- and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The coffee is fantastic (can't remember the brew but it was more acidic), the staff is super friendly, and the shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating and outlets (a big plus!). The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Black cup has some of the best coffee that I have had. They offer fresh roasted coffee in many roasts and from a variety of origins served just about any way that you like it. If you can make an espresso that is delicious without sugar, then you are doing something right and Black Cup does just that. The decor is nice but a little formal for me- I prefer a coffee shop to be a bit more rustic and ornate, but I know that everyone has different taste and that certainly would not deter me from going there. The staff is good and service is reasonably fast. read more

When you come in, you're greeted by a steampunk grinding and making your coffee. You will definitely smell the aroma of the Arabica beans, and the earthiness of the ground sumatran drip coffee of the day. It's a great a study place. People are allowed to talk but everyone respects each other's spaces. Great study place and small business meeting place.
