She was telling customers "I'm busy right now" and "I guess I'll be making drinks until we close". I patently waited for my drink and watched her craft. I complimented her many times and told her how much I appreciated her hard work. It made her smile and I felt good that I was able to do that. I bet she is a really nice woman, maybe just having a hard day. But I wanted to pray for her and tell her she was important. I didn't judge her at all. I hope she finds peace.

This Kaladi Brothers is located on the ground floor of an office building off of 36th and CenterPoint Dr. between C St. and Arctic Blvd. The seating area is a decent size with tables lined up against the windows as well as a living room area with a sofa and some comfortable chairs on one side. A separate room reserved for business meetings or large groups is at the other end by the counter. The employees here are friendly and are on a first-name basis with a lot of the customers who work in the building. The girl behind the counter encourages customers from outside to spend some time reading, studying, or doing work on your portable device for a few hours so you won't feel like you're pressured to leave. This location also serves soups and sandwiches in addition to the coffee drinks. I decided to go light with a sugar-free 16oz. vanilla latte and a bowl of their vegetable soup. The soup was hearty and filling with two slices of sourdough bread and butter. The Wi-Fi connection is strong and fast with no intermittent delays while on the Internet. The only downside of this location is the lack of outlets in the café with one next to a table close to the entrance and another behind the sofa where the lamp is plugged in. Aside from that, this is another good option for the midtown area especially if you need to get away from the heavy traffic and road construction work that is close to their W. Northern Lights location next to Title Wave Books.

There are days when I lurch in first thing in the morning, bleary eyed and uninteligebly mumble for a 2X sludge cup, or when I want to sip in yuppie style I get a soy latte with all natural coconut syrup. There are food offerings from bagels, muffins to cookies. Aladdin's makes and delivers the soups that go good with the paninis, sandwiches, and salads offered during lunch time. The cafe at 3800 has a slightly bigger cafe and they make the salads and wraps, and have more custom style paninis. There is usually first friday art adorning the walls, which makes for a nice eclectic touch. If you work in the are come check this little shop out, it's a nice place to sit and sip.
