This place is legit. You can tell from the food that this is a labor of love. We started with a plate of impossibly thin and crisp plantain chips served with a side of garlic sauce, which as far as I can tell was made of garlic, oil, and a deal with the devil because we could not stop eating it. I thought the empanadas were maybe the star of the meal, a great flakey crust and delicious filling, with a creamy herby sauce on the side. The chicken and beef empanadas are definitely not to be missed. We tried a variety of dishes for mains so we could sample widely: the Hialeah bowl (rice beans pork and mango salsa), the cubano, and a Cuban PBJ made with guava jelly. All were delicious, though I still think the empanadas were the standout. The staff were spectacular, so warm and friendly to our kids. We ate out on the deck, but they say the all ages dining area will be open by the last weekend of August 2017. read more

This is a great space to visit and there are multiple things you can do there. You can catch a show, you can play pinball, go for trivia and just hang out. The beers are solid and they do have other local breweries on tap as well. Occasionally they will have an out of market beer on tap. It is a very casual space that caters to multiple spaces. I've not tried the food from Elena Ruiz but I have heard good things about it. Located just off of 46th and Keystone. As 46th Street draws more restaurants and bars this is a must visit. read more

Visited here on a Saturday night and it wasn't really my scene. To me it seems they are trying to be both a hipster bar and a brewery. I was expecting the latter. The house beer was good but there was a large crowd due to live music (which we never actually got to hear), so there was no place to sit/stand without being awkward. Also had to literally flag down a bartender after waiting for multiple minutes to get a drink. Definitely want to give this place another shot, but will find a better time to do so. read more

So happy to see a new place in this area. Black Circle is a welcome addition to the neighborhood! This place has a comfortable vibe. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I liked the beer flight I had on my first visit and loved the New Day South Cider I had on my second visit. The Cuban food from the restaurant next door is delicious. read more

We didn't feel like we quite fit in with this scene. The beers we had were good, but nothing special. We had to leave, but we noticed that a band was setting up. I'm always a fan of live music, so good on you guys for having it available. read more

This place is nice to grab a pint at, also they had all the pinball machines on free play so you are able to play as much as you want. The beer selection is alright, not a massive selection but good enough that they will have something that an average beer drinker will like. read more

We stopped in at Black Circle to check it out. It was a warm day for January, and they had a large garage door opened to let the day in. The owners were there and very engaging. The crowd was a nice blend of friendly people. They are still doing a soft opening, and they were not yet brewing a variety, but soon will be. Guest taps offered a nice selection. The food, is a seperate business, but works seamlessly. The food was excellent. We shared a Cubano, and an order of tostones. Both were authentic, and excellent. There is a feel to this little place that is very comfortable and inviting. We will be back. read more

Fun place to grab a beer and chill out! It's just a quick walk from Arsenal Park and little off the beaten path compared to Sobro spots not too far away. Black Circle has rotating beers both house-brewed and guest taps. There's always something new to try! read more

An inviting atmosphere for a range of ages (21+). All the live bands they have had thus far have been really great! They have several arcade games inside and a really fun feel. The beer is really great and the cuban restaurant in the building, Eena Ruz is delicious! Looking forward to when its warm outside and enjoying the patio. I really liked the grapefruit radler (Jadada?) -- light and refreshing, and the grapefruit flavor was not too strong.

We went on a Saturday. We paid $5 for the two live bands. The first band was fantastic, well worth the money. It was a mixed aged crowd, and a great vibe. Lots of parking and easy to find from Keystone. The place was a little small for the large turn out. Luckily the weather was warm and we were able to sit outdoors. The Cuban sandwhiches and sauce was delicious! They had a rasberry flavored brew that was quite tasty but they were sold out by 10p. We came for the music but stayed for the food. read more

Started off my birthday here a few weeks ago, during their soft open. They atmosphere is great. The food is great. Those working, were AWESOME to accommodate us and were excited we started off the celebration with them. Definitely will be a weekly staple to visit and eat Cuban food at Elena's, located inside. Visited lasted weekend and loved so many things about this new place! The beer was awesome--by the time I decided to go there they had 5 of their own beers on tap! I tried both goses and both were true to style! My boyfriend had the IPA and Porter and thought the same. The service was awesome both behind the bar and the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, the food is killer! I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is not, but we both found great options for us! MY ONLY CRITICISM: the music is way too loud. I was sitting next to my boyfriend shouting because of the music. There were only 10 people in the brewery so it was so unnecessary. The music made it feel like a grimy metal bar rather than a brewery. I probably would have stayed longer if I could have had a conversation. Overall, it's a great place to go and it deserves love. read more

Just tried Black Circle and found my new favorite spot! Only 2 beers on tap so far, but they were solid. The rest guest taps, which is great because they had on an IPA I really liked. They also have a couple Miller products for those who don't enjoy craft beer. The outdoor porch is great, and they also have live music. My only request is that they turn down the music a bit, as it was so loud we couldn't stay inside. We will be back! read more

This place is my favorite brewery in Indianapolis. They have an amazing staff that pays attention when you're ordering at the bar. Great food from Elena Ruz is a door away to order from the bar and their events are top notch. Even though Yelp is for a certain crowd I couldn't help but give this business 5 starts for their work ethic and impeccable beer selection. This is going to be a great place once they start serving their own beer as well. Just guest taps right now until their official opening in a few weeks. Large open space with several tables to sit at. Decent amount of stools around the bar. They share the space with a Cuban Cuisine that you can order food beside the bar and serve eight to you. We didn't eat as they don't have many vegetarian options. After reading several other reviews, have heard the food is very good. read more

We were looking for something different on a Friday afternoon, and found it at the Black Circle Brewing Company. They run in partnership with Elana Cruz Cuban Cuisine in a very casual place off of 46th Street. My husband enjoyed his stout-the Black Circle BA Stout and the food was delicious. The Cubano was exceptional and the flight of empanadas (chicken, beef, black bean, roasted vegetable and an apple pie dessert one) were delicious. But the best part was the flan! They could really use better AC. It's too hot to enjoy the show. It's cooler outside, than inside. It feels like there is no AC.

I love the atmosphere, records, video games and vhs tapes. But it is a brewery and the brews are what I am rating. I have had tried 10-12 if their beers , ranging from ipa to sour to stouts and some have been awesome and some were solid. None of them were bad. Cannot say that about a lot of places. The great ones were excellent. Even the ones I may not care for the style have been properly made. Have a few and get some amazing Cuban food. read more

Place is nicely located basically off Keystone, in a warehouse. I love breweries in warehouses, as they usually do not do anything super nice or fancy. They have a nice patio, unfortunately this was during yesterday's monsoon. I loved all of the beer that I had. The "Summer of '97" pale ale really was something else; and my wife, who is not an IPA person, absolutely loved their hibiscus IPA. They had movie on the projector and I also enjoyed that their music was played over a record player. They work with a cuban cuisine restaurant that they share the area with, and while I did not get any food, I will definitely be back because just about every single thing on the menu made me hungry. To top this all off, they have older arcade games, including the Simpsons. I haven't played that game since I was a kid, and for only a quarter, it brought me back to my childhood. This is a really cool spot, and I can't wait to come back. read more
