This is my 2nd time visiting Stowe in my lifetime and 2nd time visiting Black Cap. It was a bit later in the day so I opted for a decaf latte...a Tuxedo, to be specific. The service was A++. I cannot explain to you how necessary it is to have someone kind and friendly as your first impression. I hate to say how rare that is these days. So, Black Cap wins the day on that one. Next, the barista/cashier nailed the espresso. Like nailed.the.espresso. Perfectly dialed in. I tend to get very meh espresso shots most times at most places and they're usually doctored enough to pass as "good." This time and this place, it was perfect. I am sure it will be a very long time until I get back to Stowe and I am sure that person will be gone but I am grateful for the experience of both the person and the latte, today.

P.S. Overall a bit expensive. $7.80 for a maple latte!!! Plus there is a water for drinking.

Delicious maple latte! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Charming little spot in the center of town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would I say it's as standout as The Roastery nearby? Not totally, but it's such a good fix in the morning when you want something convenient. Homemade baked goods made each day, and their maple bun is really good, especially when they warm it up.

The hot chocolate was good. I had asked for only marshmallows and no whipped cream but I got it anyway-tasty though. The sandwich was meh. It supposed to be warm but only the bread was toasted. The turkey and ham were cold. It wasn't bad just not what I was expecting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables weren't really clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Signs on doors talking about what employees had gone on strike-weird.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place could be much better-needs fixed up and a bit of a cozier vibe for a coffee spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Black Cap Coffee and Bakery was a great stop. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the maple latte was on point. I somehow resisted the dessert case, but everything looked incredible and I'll definitely be back for it next time. Posting a pic because it deserves the attention.

Excellent service staff, Americano was terrific, as worthy breakfast sandwiches. They are very generous with the use of avocado!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]There are two bistro tables out on the porch for alfresco coffee enjoyment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service staff are friendly and able. Americano was terrific, overall quite pleased, not to be at Starbucks almost directly across the street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the knotty pine flooring, especially because as a Californian, we don't see much of this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Overall solid experience here! Definitely a cute downtown spot in Stowe, great for grabbing a coffee or a quick bite before perusing nearby shops. There is a good amount of seating as well which made it easy to sit down and warm up for half an hour before facing the cold! We ordered a large coffee, large Maple latte, and a cinnamon bun roll. The coffees and pastry were delicious -- no complaints about taste at all. The cinnamon bun was thick and the frosting was a perfect balance of sweet and flavorful. I will definitely be ordering it again when I return. My only critique is that the latte price was very steep compared to other local spots. A latte is nearly $10 if you add a flavor or milk alternative. The latte tasted great, but I don't think it warranted a $10 price tag. I would suggest the coffee shop either adjust the price, or for patrons to consider a regular coffee instead. Other than prices, I would definitely recommend!

Employees are friendly and service was fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating in this cute cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The breakfast burrito was excellent and my wife loved her Chocolate Croissant. I hope to be back next time we're in Stowe.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I wish this place was a little cozier, but over all pretty good, and was open later than other coffee shops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the almond joy latte which was good.. it's a little pricy but so are most things in Stowe.

    Brenna D.

The Maple Croissant tasted like a flakey pancake, it was out of this world! The line to get up to order was less than ideal, waited almost 30min just to order and then it took about 10-15 to get our coffee and food. If it's not busy, I recommend going but it wasn't worth the almost 40min wait time.

Awesome coffee, awesome vegan friendly breakfast - with just egg, and chorizo. Looooong lines, so timing it is very important.

Ranch Camp is a cool little restaurant and bicycle repair shop combo -- for real! I just wish the…read morefood was as good as the overall vibe and the amazing service we received. Let's start with what we enjoyed during our visit: the drinks were good... the atmosphere was cool (more like a contemporary "cabin" vibe, which was definitely inviting)... and the staff were all stellar!! Where Ranch Camp let us down on this visit was the food. In fact, we desperately wanted to love the experience because everything LOOKED fantastic. However, all the food we ordered was bland. It all started with the pork nachos, which our party of 3 ordered as an appetizer. It was piled high and dripping with ingredients... but the dish completely lacked flavor. The pork was perfectly tender but tasted flavorless (until I added hot sauce and salt). I would also recommend they serve the dish with pico de gallo or salsa to boost the flavor. We had the same feeling with the burrito bowls. Two of us ordered different burritos (opting for bowls instead of tortillas), and we both thought the flavor was just okay. And on top of that, both of our bowls were lukewarm. In fact, the entrées weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese. I wish I would have sent the food back, but we were in a bit of a hurry. Finally, my friend James ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which he also thought was "just okay." Oh, and we noted that a table near us sent back food... so not sure what was up with that, but we we weren't surprised based on our overall experience. Final Thoughts: Prior to visiting Ranch Camp, I read plenty of reviews praising the restaurant, so I'd like to think that they were just having a bad day.

The restaurant is inside of a bike shop which is pretty cool in itself. We started off with some nachos and fried chokes. I had artichokes but omg these were so crunchy and delicious. The nachos were stacked and loaded each chip as nachos should be. Although I wish they out the sour cream and guacamole on the side instead of drizzled on top. Their pork belly tacos were delicious just so messy. The corn with each bite literally was all over my lap and the table. Good just not a graceful meal to eat. I ordered their crunch wrap which was good but the portion was huge. Two people could easily split one. We also ordered the adult chicken tenders and fries. Which idk what they do to the fries here but you MUST HAVE THE FRIES! They are super seasoned and crunchy and just mouth watering goodness. The chicken tenders were super crisp and well flavored too. Next time I'm so ordering the chicken tenders and fries. The T-bowl looked great but the guest in our party who ordered it barely ate it for some reason. 10\10 for food. Service is a bit slow here so be patient. The prices are not bad for the food quality either. My only complaint is the parking lot behind the building is a bit tight with a larger vehicle.

We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not bad at all!! Our server was energetic and accommodating. She cheerfully answered all our questions and honored our request to get a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The aforementioned pizza arrived in no time. It was good. Not the best ever, but still quite solid. The star of the culinary show was the salmon entree. Both my wife and I got it and we both loved it. It was a big piece of wood fired salmon and came with a nice assortment of roasted veggies. I'm talking real veggies--zucchini, broccoli, fingerling potatoes, the works. Neither one of us are big drinkers, but there are LOTS of microbrews on tap if you're into that kind of thing. The dining room was lively without being too noisy. Both of us enjoyed hanging out there. It would be a great place to have a beer and watch baseball on TV. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Service was great - got there around 5:40pm on a Wednesday, so the wait was non-existent and a table for 5 was easy to accommodate. Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The table near ours seemed to immensely enjoy their meal and also get great service from Duncan.
