Best bakery we have found in Denver! We have tried the raspberry cheesecake cruffin, nutella spaceship, orange jasmine, and the baguette along with some others. Everything has been outstanding. We live about 18 miles away from the Edgewater location but still find it worthwhile to make the trip to Edgewater. They are also available at Cherry Creek farmer's market on Saturdays in the summer, but be prepared for a long line there. Ambiance is not the reason you would go here, but it is pleasant enough at the Edgewater market. I only wish I had the baking skills they exhibit. Magnificent pastries and baguette! read more

I was SO excited to try this place after finding it on Instagram, but I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The standouts were the Pretzel Ham and Cheese and the chocolate chip cookie, and everything else was honestly a little underwhelming. I found most of the other pastries to be far too sweet in a laminated pastry- the pastry got overwhelmed quickly by the sugary fruited flavors inside. All were quite flaky and there was no shortage of butter in any of them. The colors inside were cool though. Overall, I don't think I'd wait in the gigantic line again for these, however the service was pretty quick once you made it through the wait. read more

Visiting Denver for the week so I had to stop by for the iconic cube croissant and it did not disappoint! Though the line was super long at 9am on Sunday, the service was very efficient. Definitely worth stopping by for some delicious treats and so glad I carb loaded before going on our long hike! Lol read more

Black Box Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Edgewater, Colorado

I had been hearing about Black Box for months before I actually went to try it, and despite the long line it was fantastic. The bakery opens at 9 on weekends but it's best to show up beforehand to get in line and get the broadest selection of pastries, as they will run out of their top sellers. We had the summer tomato breki, the almond croissant, the NYC bagel croissant with scallion cream cheese, the lemon merengue croissant, and the giant cube croissant that is IG famous. At $15, it's worth getting once but definitely won't be a repeat purchase as I thought all of the other parties were much better. The edgewater market wasn't open when we were there but we were grateful to have air conditioning while waiting in line! read more

From the TikToks I saw prior to visiting Denver I was super excited for their cube'd croissants. The employees are super friendly and patient as they explain all the ingredients in each pastry. They do a great job of encompassing a wide variety of flavors from dessert to breakfast. While the environment feels a bit intense given their long line and location, I recommend everyone go early in the day. However their long line is for a reason! The cheesy leek breeki was delicious and the snickers cube'd croissant was tasty. If you're going to visit make sure to go early! read more

Black Box Bakery - Order label - Bakeries Near Me - Edgewater, Colorado

Wowza. Just gonna start with that. WOWZA. I received a box of pastries from Black Box as a gift from a friend. I knew whatever he was sending me would be good, as I trust his food judgement, but I had no idea just HOW good it would be. So, I received a Mother Planet, Sausage Roll, Cruffin, UFO and Space Ship. I would like to tell you which one was my favorite, but I can't, other than saying all of them. All of them were my favorite. The sausage roll had a nice spice to it and was a perfect savory treat. All of the rest were flaky or dense where they were supposed to be, filled with rich and creamy custard or cream, nothing having been skimped on. The prices are fantastic for the quality, and this is easily an impressive place to introduce a friend to. The fact that they don't have 200 5-star reviews by now blows my mind. I plan to tell everyone about this place and if you try them out I hope you spread the word, too! I am spinning from sugar, because the minute I opened the box, I began shoving these into my mouth at an alarming, probably obscene rate, and I literally yelled "oh my god" every time I tried a new one. Pretty sure my neighbors think that something besides pastries are going on in my apartment right now. They delivery to your door and there is no excuse not to try them out. Unless you hate yourself, or something. Support local business while giving yourself a food orgasm. read more

Amazing. This is now the cinnamon roll that I will compare all others to forever. I don't know what butter they use but it is amazing. Everything that I have had there is amazing. Highly recommend! read more

Loved our croissants!!! So flaky and tasty. Quick service. Inside a building with other cool restaurants. Recommend!

I came into the Edgewater Public Market and saw this long line immediately, and people were lineup here for the Black Box Bakery. I was curious and immediately to stand in line. I bought olive focaccia, two chocolate croissants, and triple chocolate cookies. It was the best bakery, I have ever tasted. Super yum! All the staff members are so Amazing and professional, and so nice and happy. Thank you so much for your quality and passion, it was a great experience for my first time. Muah read more

Located in the Edgewater Marketplace this is a must try. A group of us ordered a few items to try and I highly recommend doing the same so you can try a variety of items. They were all amazing but my favorite was the Almond Croissant. Best I've ever had! read more

We luckily thought they opened on Saturday at eight so we arrived early, good thing we did because 30 minutes before they open the line started to grow by the time they opened the line was at least 30 deep. We ordered six different items and every one of them was exceptional. If it wasn't for the coffee, I would've given this place five stars... The coffee was just OK and the cup was very tiny for the high price. This is definitely over priced low quality coffee. Definitely heading back to this place!! read more

Only issue I had was part of my order was wrong. Ordered ham and cheese croissant and they gave me one with cream cheese. Croissant was still good. Otherwise the almond croissant, the monkey bread, and the cinnamon roll were excellent. Definitely will be back. read more

Not to sound like a Johnny Cash song but I've been everywhere. Places in France and Monaco where you'd expect and assume that nowhere else could make croissant pastries as good. These people do. (This review is solely based on the croissant cube with Salted Caramel, but we have 3 additional delicacies still in the box) Nothing I can say, no matter how glowing, will do justice to what they create here. You're just gonna have to try everything yourself. You can thank me later! read more

Really great customer service! The owners reached out to me after my review, and they were able to integrate and change based on my feedback almost immediately. This is a huge plus given that businesses normally do not respond/change based on feedback. The owners are super nice and are doing a great job running this bakery with a small team. They sent a free box of pastries to our house, which was a nice gesture (I think they even tried to put more filling in the pastries as I had suggested which was a nice touch). Overall, huge kudos to this small business that listens to and integrates feedback from its customers! read more

I love these pastries to the moon and back! I generally only order the potato bourekas at Blue Sparrow, but we had a special event with family where I ordered directly from the bakery. The ordering process was simple and pick-up at the hotel was a breeze. These are by far the best pastries I've had in Colorado. I'm all about the flaky croissants when you can't eat a bite without the buttery layers shedding everywhere. My favorite has to be the potato boureka, but I have a special place in my heart for a perfect chocolate croissant. The sausage roll and spinach boureka are also honorable mentions. Can't go wrong with any of these pastries honestly. Summary: These are delicious and the bakers, Arielle Israel and Megan Read, are not only incredibly talented, but thoughtful and creative! read more

Quite possibly the best pastries is Denver! So many fun choices, it's impossible to get just 1! They serve coffee as well. The cashier was funny and friendly. We tried the NYC Bagel Croissant, the Banana cruffin, Caramelized onion Breckie and the blueberry lavender croissant. Every this was amazing and scrumptious. Had very high hopes for this bakery given the hype on insta. Came later in the day to not stand in a massive line and was able to walk right up to the counter no line. There was a small selection of pastries left as it was later in the day, bummed but totally understandable. I asked what was recommend and the guy was very nice to point out some things to try. Blueberry pie, chocolate croissant and cinnamon roll. Got two of all 3. Unfortunately the croissant taste burnt had maybe 5 chocolate chips in it, the piecrust is raw and the out side sections of the cinnamon roll is burnt too. Wanted to love this place given the hype- but for $60 dollars no matter what time of day the quality of your product should be the same and the baked good should be as good as the original during conception of the product for an average 10$ per good. The idea is there but the execution is lacking refinement. read more

One of the best things about living in Denver, is that there's always a new bar, restaurant, bakery, to try that is pushing the limits of imagination and creativity. I heard about this bakery, and never one to want to miss out on something fun and new, I drove to Edgewater, got to the bakery 15 minutes before they opened (was third in line) and waited with mild expectations. Top to bottom, this bakery exceeded my expectations. Service was friendly and kind and fast. We got 5-6 pastries, we've only had three so far but they are exceptional. The croissants are buttery, flaky, and soft. The Ube cruffin is what I didn't know I was missing in my life. Simply wonderful. Well worth the visit, we will 100% be back. read more

Took my husband on a surprise morning date and this did not disappoint. So glad we got there 10 minutes before it opened because the line was getting long behind us. We tried a little of everything but my personal favorite was the potato one. I will say I gave 4 stars because there was little meat in the meat and cheese to bread ratio so I think that could be improved. I did enjoy everything we tried and was happy we went in. The service was friendly and quick. We purchased Monkeybread, Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Nutella, and the Almond croissant. We cut them in half to share with the family. I REALLY wanted to like this bakery and was so excited to try it! Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed from the first bite. I ordered an almond croissant and it was totally over cooked and burned. All I could taste was burnt flavor and couldn't actually taste the croissant or any almond flavor. I initially thought it was just the one I got and was willing to try them again. However, I looked on the instagram and looks like that is just how they make their baked goods. Everything looks on the darker side and has burnt ends. Is this how it's intended to be? I'm just left very confused. read more

Y'all. This place has the most AMAZING croissants I've ever had in my life, the bon bons and cookies are also sooo delicioussss, causing me to order them multiple times (coming from a person who does not reach for sweets that is unheard of) They are the sweetest and most polite staff, I love their silly and upbeat energy with me and eachother behind the counter, I feel so positive and happy every time I leave!!! Came here after hearing the hype and seeing the viral pastry cubes and was not disappointed! Black Box is probably one of the best bakeries I've ever had and had such an amazing variety of pastries. This bakery is truly incredible. We just moved to Denver from NYC and were so missing delicious pastries - and we found them here! I emailed Black Box about ordering and had a lovely exchange with one of the founders. I ordered a bunch of of their pastries and they delivered at the exact time requested! Every single one of them was fresh, flavorful, flaky and tasty! The croissant were delicious and the flakiest I have ever tasted.
